Changing things up a bit tonight.... I hooked up my huge music room speakers to the 60 inch Samsung Smart TV Hopefully we'll get a couple decent periscope feeds...I'm more interested in some good audio than video. I'm sending the kids to Grandma's for 4 hours. I told my girlfriend that she's more than welcome to come over...but...I will have repositioned the Lazy Boy...and can be found under a pile of shrimp tails , cheetos and beer bottles. She's okay with that...I think it's the vision of a 51 year old man, sitting in his underwear with Fanboy glazed over eyes that's concerning her most. You'd think she'd get used to it after 3 shows.

Things will change for all of us after this Tour
WIDE-ANGLE WATCHER replied to vital signz's topic in R40 Tour Forum
Reality, as it sinks in...does in fact suck. Memories, as they are relived...do in fact last forever. I have followed Rush since 1977. I have seen them live a bunch of times...but I get my best memories from buying that newly released vinyl/cassette/cd and racing home to get that first listen of the new Rush. That is what I'll miss the most when/if they stop making music. As far as the touring goes....I hope this is the final tour. After this tour and at least a 2-3 year break, the boys will be in their mid 60's...and while some studio work is hopeful, I think the touring should end now, while they can still physically and mentally pull it off. My analogy would be...I am 51 and have stopped playing hockey...for the obvious reasons. I, for one, do not want to go through all this forum crap about...can they pull off an R-45 Tour? If they retire touring after the R-40 Tour. I believe their legacy is intact as one of the highest musicianship based touring bands ever. If they make another run at a tour in a few years their legacy may be tarnished a bit. Sadder still, to watch it die...Then never to have known it. We have known it, for so long. I don't want to watch it die. Better to just fade away... -
I believe there will be filming, to some degree, at almost every show. I noticed a small camera on a track that slides along the front edge of the stage at the OK show. This filming is not the high production style as to be the main shoot of a DVD, but more of either a 'extras' disc or future material for a documentary. In this day of high technology, there will be an enormous amount of footage from various sources for various reasons.

I was thinking about that also. Although with that format you would lose some level of flow between band and crowd between songs.

I wish they would....or could... record parts of maybe 5-6 shows and then piece together the best individual song performances for a CD. As far as filming for a DVD, the two Toronto shows make sense....but... Can they get all the Rotation songs into two nights? Also, if the last show in Los Angeles is even remotely, possibly be their last show ever.... Shouldn't it be filmed as well?
