  1. QUOTE (the masked drummer @ Oct 26 2010, 03:00 PM) James Labrie will be appearing at Blondies in Detroit Sat Dec 4th. I'll be there to support my buddy's band Sean Baker Orchestra if anyone wants to hook up and see the show. I'm trying to get in by being a drum tech that night. I don't know how much tickets are. Anyone interested? I'm sure he has a rockin' band... Yeah I might be attending
  2. Anyone else love "When Dream and Day Unite"? This is my favorite DT album, I think Charlie Dominci is an awesome singer, I think the real reason he was kicked out was because the age difference between him and the rest of the band.
  3. Anyone here familiar with this awesome Welsh Prog Band? They're a good mixture of Yes, Marillion, and Genesis. I've been trying to find a copy of their album "Revolutions" can't anywhere not even on iTunes. If anyone knows where I could get a physical copy please let me know. Here you go.
  4. QUOTE (tontonfranck @ Oct 16 2010, 01:34 PM) This band is amazing. Their 5 first Lp are real masterpieces and the 2 last ones are very good again in my opinion. They have found a very original way of making music with a big crossover between hard rock, soul and pop music. Vocals harmonies are very nice summerland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVpjSoFpERc
  5. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Oct 15 2010, 07:36 PM) You should also check out their self titled release, Dogman and Tapehead. They are very good as well. yeah I forgot about Dogman it has a great cover of Hendrix's "Manic Depression"
  6. I've known about these guys for a long time but never took the time to listen to an album all the way through. I recently bought "Gretchen Goes To Nebraska" and I was really impressed. Good playing, and great vocals from the whole band. I was especially intrigued by Tybor's playing. King's X has one of the most original sounds of any band from the 80's Now I'm off to get "Out Of The Silent Planet" and "Faith Hope Love"
  7. Now I've im a fan of King's X and I've seen them classified as Prog Metal but I don't think they can fit in that category, so I need some opinions on this
  8. While pot smokers at concerts usually don't bother me, I think its a little insulting to the band almost like their music isn't good enough sober
  9. I don't know if this has been already discussed on this forum but Recently I started watching a lot of adult swim and "The Venture Bros." became one of my favorite shows. I bought seasons 1-3 on DVD and just started season 4. I think most of you will enjoy these scenes from the episode "Perchance To Dean" http://video.adultswim.com/the-venture-bro...-prog-rock.html http://video.adultswim.com/the-venture-bro...floyd-hole.html Note the copy of 2112 on the floor
  10. In no particular order 1. Who's Line is it Anyway? 2. King Of The Hill 3. Seinfeld 4. Malcom in the Middle 5. Arrested Developement 6. The Colbert Report 7. The Simpsons 8. South Park 9. Its Always Sunny In Phileadephia 10. The Venture Bros.
  11. QUOTE (Tigershark2112 @ Sep 12 2010, 12:53 PM) I don't know what you're talking about, he was spot on in Columbus this year. He nailed the bridge to Freewill and ALL of 2112/Temples (though I know its in a lowered key). All I'm saying is his performance was so good that his voice was never even an issue the entire night. He's heading on 60 and has been touring for 35+ years. Give the man a break. Yes he sounded great during the Columbus show
  12. I think its a little insulting to the artist performing it like "your music isn't good enough sober so lets get baked" I would never go to a concert high but listening to it high on your own can be quite and experience
  13. Iron Maiden opening act Dream Theater last Saturday at DTE Clarkston Michigan, DT blew Maiden out of the water they were amazing

  15. I want an epic song about how Geddy broke up with his highschool sweethaert and constantly refers to her as girl, baby etc. It should have a 4/4 R&B rythm and be devoid of all complexity. Also 100% autotuned.
  16. Mr. Langone you sir are pathetic
  17. yeah but its an outdoor venue and their show looks a lot more visually simulating indoors
  18. QUOTE (tangy @ Jun 30 2010, 11:11 AM) QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 30 2010, 11:07 AM) QUOTE (Show Don't Tell @ Jun 30 2010, 10:40 AM) http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u195/Number-4/Icons/youtube.png Working Man (Caribbean Style Intro) Its kind of corny to see them do that. I know they're just trying to have fun, rush is such a serious band, blabla, but I dont know, Id rather them just be serious than doing stuff like this. I like the funny videos, the silly stage setups which are meant to be funny as well, but dont mess with the music. So many old washed up bands who used to be somebody do this all the time, I dont need Rush doing it now. they first did the reggae intro years ago. I like it. a fair number of rush songs have reggae like music in them.
  19. QUOTE (theworkingman @ Jun 30 2010, 02:25 AM) PRESTO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBQ0rO_4ddE Awesome
  20. I really like both sets of the Time Machine
