Our new, old friend had no interest in tonight's gig...Doesn't know who the mighty Porcupine Tree even are...Maybe he's an alien...and I ain't talkin' 'bout someone done jumped the border and crost over if ya knowin' what I'm shayin'...Damn strange is what that is...Who doesn't now about the mighty PT in this technological day and age! ALRIGHT, NOW down to brass tax, because I need to be hoppin' on this task of gettin' ready and onto a train heading a wees way West. I heard some samples of the new title and it sounds awfully acousticy...Are there any flat-out barn-burners like they did in the 90's with that track, Black on Black? That tune was much more of a return to their hard rockin' early days with things like Barracuda and Magic Man...I'd be into the album if it had some of that kinda schtuff goin' on. Any o' that?

AS per the Heartland Brewery idea, we seriously might need to consider a fall-back option, friends...I just spoke to other folks over at another site and they are thinking of the same place...So, if you extend that logic to everyone who's going to the show, those over at other fan sites, then we might have some serious overflow spillage to contend with...I don't personally remember how big the joint is...It might be large enough to cover a huge crowd...But, maybe someone can suggest the next, closest place to RCMH, and we can always use that place as Plan B. I don't want to get to Heartland all kinds of hungry and thirsty, only to be turned away...That won't kick of the festivities nicely a'tall.

AS FOR COLDFIRE YYZ, I think they've been posting the 'set lists' for this 2010 tour at various sites on the web...Maybe someone can direct you back about a dozen pages on this specific thread, where I asked the question of what could be expected in terms of a 'set list' for an upcoming PT gig...Someone definitely posted a recent set list, as well as directing me towards another resource on the web that posts such info... I think that the majority of the set is going to be split fairly evenly between the '07 and '09 material, with possibly two, maybe three surprises chucked in there for good measure...The closing three song 'Encore' will be things from that, now classic, '96 to '05 period. I think you'll get a fair approximation of this guesstimate.

I would say that anyone even claiming to be a half-assed fan has to go and find the two, unofficial, yet complete, filmed-for-television shows that are circulating the net as torrents. Both are filmed when the band was at its apex and Anne was just as slender and twice as hot as Nancy...You must be saying, "But, was there ever an age for that mix of elements?" The answer is clearly, "Yes, sometime between '75 and '78". Because, I have one of these TV shows, and I think it might be the earlier one, because the girls look real young...But, I know that another exits as well...Ya'll need to find and down these shows...They're an awesome testament to the raw power of Anne in the early days.

Right now I'm watching what I believe to be the debut episode of a new HBO series called, 'Boardwalk Empie'...a docu-drama based around the dark convergence point between crime and politics in 1920's Atlantic City, NJ. It's on again later...as it probably will be weeks on end. Looks pretty darn interestng right from the get go, and was wondering if any of ya'll were watching along and had any opinions on the cast, settings, directing and all other relevant whatnot. Several stars here, but it looks like the main lead goes to Steve Buscemi. TOOL has always been an incredibly forwarding looking band...And, I certainly was that boy wearing Vans, 501s, and a dope Beastie T....I'm OGT, from '92, back from the first EP...I was there to embrace it from the start, when jokers were still Glammin' it up...I remember a joker friend of mine asking whether the band was a group of 'short hairs'...We had just recently got out of H.S. and dudes were singling out bands by whether they still had the long hair, or if they had gone and chopped it. This band, like Rush, are amongst a very small class of Proggers who have been able to get their not-so-accessible stuff across to the masses...Ya ever wonder why only a few of them have? Besides being a hugely intellectual-leaning outfit, the band also possesses a ridiculous knack for writing memorable melody lines that just stick with the public... Yet, the instrumenal parts are built on some way advanced musical ideas...I remember watching an interview with Fred Durt back in the day, when that sucktard was on the top of the world...He was talking about his own backing band and how great the players were in his unit...But, I'll always remember his reaction when asked about what he thought about Tool...He got all serious-like and said, "There's something wrong with them...I'm actually afraid of them...They're almost too good...It's like they're not human."... I knew precisely what he was talking about...SO, WHEN THE F do we get another one...The only thing that has sucked about this band is how infrequently they get into the studio....Only FOUR full-lengths is rather ridiculous in the nearly twenty years that they've been together...These guys should have at least two more titles in their catalog by now. WHEN IS #5?
