  1. it's some gay band that sucks really bad. the beatles are way better. i really missed out and i'm pissed off
  2. i've been watching their VODs from this tour quite a bit and they're far from being "has beens" (can't be if you never was), but i have to admit i do wish i was old enough to had seen them during these earlier eras:
  3. I hate to say it but Porcupine Tree. Loved Yes but they don't have quite as much replay value for me for some reason. plus PT's discog is a lot more consistent all the way throughout, while Yes peaked in the 70s and then slowly got worse and worse and worse - until the point of complete self parody.
  4. glad to see at least one person here dislikes it i like it, but im certainly not blown away by it. gives me a similar impression that C/C did
  5. yeah, California and all that.. it's a long set with a great variety, so to me it's definitely worth it, plus i never have gone to many concerts. my co-worker treated me to alice cooper recently though and that was awesome, he performs very well for a 75 year old man. with the way he's going i bet he'll die for real on stage one day, it doesnt seem like he ever wants to retire. i have two more days to listen to the newest album again btw, i'm slacking.
  6. i think the last four tracks of this album are the strongest part, either time is running out or the title track might be favorite of the album didn't top this "time is running out" though :P
  7. liked the album through the first listen. if i could get in Steven's head for a second, he's always been saying he's tired of guitar and wants to do more electronic / pop oriented music ever since the (or before) the PT hiatus, and he's approached it not only with Future Bites but also a lot of his other lesser known solo/side projects throughout the decades and it's obviously never worked too well. I think with this album he figured in order to please his audience he'd have to infuse his prog influences with the electronic, and it was really as simple a formula as that... and this is why it's finally good. 8. i definitely disagree but i respect it, i can give HCE the credit of it being his most coherent concept album. it's my fourth favorite solo album of his behind the first three.
  9. QOTSA for the past year my co-worker is a huge rush/prog fan and plays lot of stuff on the job radio i really enjoy, so i've finally been exposed to some Moody Blues and REO Speedwagon against my will and dig it. I was always meaning to get into them but never got around to it. he plays plenty of other cool bands that i'm picking up on but those are the big two.. then of course there's some more generic overplayed stuff i'd rather never have to listen to again like AC/DC or Van Halen for ex, but i digress.
  10. this thread got derailed exactly how i thought it would. i dont know of any songs that fit the OP's criteria Devil Doll's entire discography is very spooky, it's the entire schtick and they do it pretty well. very unique music too.
  11. Fans of Wilson’s older solo records should be very happy with this release. There’s a heavy use of instrumental jazz arrangements as used in older tracks such as Luminol, Ancestral, Don’t Hate me and Sky Moves Sideways, but with more of a focus on electronic hip hop style arrangements. sold (well spotify'd)
  12. i didn't even realize there was a new SW album until just now looks like got good reception but nothing will top his first three
  13. unrelated (word association) but my co-worker is a long time rush fan and defends roll the bones
  14. got my ticket today, 130$. worth it since QOTSA has been my go-to band for a year now also they're playing in a good part of SF and a high class venue, my car will be safe.
  15. looks like Queers of the Stone Age have replaced "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" with "Sick Sick Sick" in their set for this second half of their US tour, so i'll prob be getting to see them play that one live which will be sick. I do like Lost Art a lot too though. Still haven't listened to their newest album too much but it's pretty good, kind of mid by their standards though
  16. actively make the world a more retarded asocial place = rich actively make the world a better place = range somewhere between well off to hardly scraping by
  17. If i could go one day without hearing some story about how a flavor of the month influencer or onlyfans chick is making 400k a month for existing - that would really cheer me up
  18. Going to go to Appalachia for a while to see what's up
