  1. I am now getting my way through: The Lord of the Rings (for about 4th of 5th time, this time for academic purposes) Poetics of Composition by Boris Uspenski (solely for academic purposes) Roadshow by one Neil Peart (solely for my own personal enjoyment)
  2. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 24 2009, 09:52 AM) QUOTE (JDL2112 @ Jan 24 2009, 03:34 AM) Didn't he also do that movie called "4 Rooms"? Or did he just play in that? I think he directed one of the segments, not the whole movie. Oh yes - the last one, and what a segment that was! Genius.. Is the mystery of why Bruce Willis is not in the credits still unresolved?
  3. QUOTE (Watt @ Jan 23 2009, 08:01 PM) QUOTE (HisCounterpart @ Jan 20 2009, 07:26 PM) QUOTE (Janie @ Jan 19 2009, 10:30 AM) Kind of wish he wasn't wearing the dark glasses though. You know, I found myself thinking that I actually prefer him WEARING the glasses. They're just so.. spot-on Yeah, I also think they suit him perfectly but his early pics w/o glasses are just great, I'd say I prefer seeing photos from that era, haircuts, you know... Oh my goodness! A long awaited FROIND indeed! Glad you made it. Now behave yourself or we'll be thrown out together!
  4. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 23 2009, 03:41 PM) QUOTE (HisCounterpart @ Jan 23 2009, 10:23 AM) Ooohh the first one to vote for Jackie Brown, me... Great as it is, Pulp Fiction would probably be my least favourite out of them all.. And I definitely couldn't put one Kill Bill over the other. Althout I first watched them more than a year apart, it's now ONE film to me... I would say 1. Jackie --- kept me on the edge of my seat the first time for the whole film, I'm savouring its deliciousness every time I watch it.. 2. Kill Bill---- one word - BEAUTIFUL 3. Reservoir Dogs - the last Tarantino film I watched, funnily enough.. Very deep. 4. Pulp Fiction --- Great. But.. I kinda know it too well now.. Doesn't do the same for me as the other films when I watch it again and again... 5. Natural Born Killers - enjoyable, but not as BEAUTIFUL as Kill Bill and not as deep as Researvoir Dogs... "Natural Born Killers" was directed by Oliver Stone. In your own words, Oops! But for me it's still a Tarantino film.. It's very Tarantino))) Another one like that is Dusk Till Dawn... I knew I'd forgotten something

  6. A friend of mine from the Ukraine wanted to register on the forum - first time she tried was about a month ago. Since then she'd tried a couple of times more with different email addresses (we thought it might have been something to do with her ukrainian/russian email domain), but no luck. She still hasn't got her autharisation. I thought that kinda strange cos I got mine within about 2 days after registering. Help?
  7. QUOTE (theanalogkid1982 @ Jan 20 2009, 09:12 PM) i found it too scary in the sense of thinking that such a world could exist. That's the point of it!
  8. Loved it.. It's so my kind of thing... But I fully understand that some (and many!) would find it utterly unreadable.. If you are into sci-fi/phantasmagory/dystopia you'll probably love it. If you enjoyed 1984 I would strongly recommend it. Although I have to say I prefer 1984 to it..
  9. Great job with those pics

  20. QUOTE (edgyspice @ Jan 13 2009, 01:02 PM) And for Jaye: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e397/edgyspice/tony.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e397/edgyspice/cap818.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e397/edgyspice/banks.jpg Ooohhh Tony! Oh I used to have a mad crush on him - it started when I was 11 and got me into the wonderful world of Genesis music. Years passed snce that time and now these characters occupy a larger space in my heart: http://z.about.com/d/classicrock/1/5/G/5/collins_3.jpghttp://www.enkiri.com/heart_and_soul/peter_gabriel1.jpg

  23. I dunno why everyone is hating the Crystal Skull so much.. I loved it.. The sappy wedding at the end was rubbish but the rest I think was great. Icluding the fridge and the aliens. I know many ppl seem to object to the aliens bit and they explain it with the fact that Indie films are "supposed to" have something supernatural in them rather than sci-fi. I don't have such a reservation and I love anything that involves aliens and is good quality cinema. And this film was, for most part...
  24. I get very annoyed with Leonardo DiCaprio (an echo of me mid-teen years when he was all any gorl my age talked about. Couldn't stand him now, still can't stand him, although he seems to be not a bad actor) and Kirsten Dunst. I have become even more annoyed by Dunst after someone said I looked like her (the poor bugger thought he was complementing me!) Eugh...
  25. Mmmm Rio screenshots are delicious! Thanks!
