  1. I got to spend Christmas with some friends and their family, had the most amazing brisket ever, and even got a few small gifts. Made for a really good day!
  2. Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. It's gonna happen sooner, than later. You're right in that I need to quit now, and handle the stress of life that will come, no matter what.

Lots of cross-posters between our boards, lots of friendly vibes too. But thanks for the heads up. I will never be a cross-dresser, I mean a cross-poster on that Bored. I mean Board. JMO Hey. We don't bite, much.... Hahaha!! I hope half The Rush Forum aren't also on Counterparts or I will be burned at the stake! "Witch Hunt!" I joined Counterparts many years ago and never got into it. Sorry! My home to haunt everyone is here! "Love Bites!" Signed, Def Leppard I joined Counterparts many years ago and never got into it. Most people feel that way, and that's totally cool. No worries.

There may be a compatibility issue. If we had to unite with CP, I think most of us would leave! I know I would.
  6. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Dec 25 2011, 07:27 AM) Triumph = dont forget Rock N Roll Machine Gil Moore on vocal's doesn't count.
  7. I wonder if "Go To Man" is actually "Somebody" on CP. We had a poster with a very similar style earlier this year, quoting scripture, judgmental as all get out, etc. Very interested in comparing IP's with the admins here to see what we come up with.
  8. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks for everything TRF does!!!
  9. Hold On Magic Power Fight the Good Fight Lay It on The Line That is all....
  10. I guess it's not my time to quit. I'm studying for a California State Insurance Exam, and it's a bitch! Smoke breaks are the only thing keeping me sane during the studying. So I made a promise that once I pass the exam, or when the pressure's off, that's when I'll give it another go.

  12. Happy Birthday you master of the bass you!
  13. QUOTE (Invisible To Telescopic Eye @ Dec 21 2011, 02:50 AM) Awesome...but my calender reads 1221... Well, for those diehards who insist that today is 12/21, here's something you can do to celebrate the day. Play 2112 backwards, like they do here. Fast forward to 2:16. And, you'll see how Rush was sooooo much ahead of their time!
  14. http://www.rushcon.org/holiday2011/ Edit to add, this won't play on iPhones or iPads. Sorry.
  15. Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I did slip up tonight. I tend to beat myself up over stuff like this, but I just can't. Try again.
  16. I'm giving it another try to quit, and just seeing if there's such a forum for that. Thanks.
  17. If anyone wants to talk about changing a genre, although he is not technically a "Band", you have to consider Elvis Presley as the one who really changed a whole generation, and opened up the door for such acts as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc.
  18. This is the greatest band of all time!
  19. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Nov 17 2011, 11:08 PM) QUOTE (Draco @ Nov 18 2011, 02:04 AM) I've always favored Felix Mendelsohn. In fact, my ex Julie is a direct descendant of his (minus his musical talent) I will admit that I'm not all that up on "who wrote this" in terms of the music, but I just enjoy listening to it lately. I go through these stages where I'll put all other music aside and just listen. I'm pretty much at the same point. My exposure is mostly limited to those three composers. I definitely need to branch out and discover some others. Check out http://www.kdfc.com. It's San Francisco's classical music station. Good listen live stream, and they always give the name of the composer who's playing. Plus, during the overnight hours, there's no commercials. Just straight through music.

  21. Listening to "Carnegie Hall Live" as we speak. Any other classical music fans here?
  22. There's a small recording studio/performance hall in Walnut Creek, CA (small town outside of San Francisco) called Red House Studios. http://www.redhouselive.com/ They provide inexpensive recording studio time, music lessons for kids, a chance for new bands to perform live, etc. Jason Newstead has put together a new band called Papa Wheelie. They're recording their new music video at Red House! Being in Red House before, it isn't big at all! The performance hall fits 200 at the most? This is going to be big for Red House! Makes me very happy to see something like this! The press release email reads as follows: I'm pleased to announce that Jason Newsted, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and former Metallica bassist, has chosen Red House as the location for his new band's debut video. Papa Wheelie will be performing a free show on Saturday, November 12th on a bill that will also feature local favorites 5 Days Dirty. Doors open at 8pm. I hope you can make it out to Red House to check it out. In addition, Jason has agreed to share his techniques and experiences in a special seminar at Red House on Tuesday, November 29th at 7pm. This will be a great time to meet Jason, and get all your questions answered about what it's like to play in the world's biggest metal band. The cost for the seminar is just $15, plus the ticket includes VIP access to the Papa Wheelie show. This means you'll be able bolt ahead of all the fans waiting to get into the free show. Tickets are available at Red House. I hope you'll be able to join us for either of the events! Raja Singh Owner, Red House
