  1. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 3 2004, 05:18 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Sep 2 2004, 12:43 PM) OK, next quote: 'Well, I suppose I'm deranged but I guess I'll just have to call. Cover your ears darlin'.' I knew this sounded familiar....had to double-check... "Tombstone" Correct. Your turn!
  2. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Sep 3 2004, 11:09 AM) Yesterday, scientists for Health Canada suggested that men should take a look at their beer consumption, considering the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer. The theory is that drinking beer makes men turn into women. To test the finding 100 men were fed 6 pints of beer each. It was then observed that 100% of the men gained weight, talked excessively without making sense, became overly emotional, couldn't drive, failed to think rationally, argued over nothing, and refused to apologize when wrong. No further testing is planned. I love that one and laugh every time I read it!
  3. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Sep 2 2004, 11:27 PM) QUOTE (Rivendell @ Sep 2 2004, 05:06 PM) QUOTE (Indica @ Sep 2 2004, 02:42 PM) QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Sep 2 2004, 03:00 PM) QUOTE (Indica @ Sep 1 2004, 10:58 PM) Losing it The writer stares with glassy eyes - Defies the empty page Riv, even if this isn't the answer of which you were thinking, I believe you should declare Indy the winner. No matter what the "true" answer is, it cannot be better than Indy's answer. His is dead on. Yeah I was dead on!!!!!!!! Fine. What I was going for was "Here Again" But I can see that your eyes are glass. What lyric from Here Again? Third verse, first line. 'Well, you say you can laugh, but I can see that your eyes are glass'
  4. QUOTE (Rivendell @ Aug 31 2004, 12:38 PM) This may be tough..... http://www.clwilliamson.net/Images/Old_GlassEyes_l.jpg 'The Necromancer'? 'Magic prism eye'? I know, it's a stretch, but you never know.
  5. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Sep 2 2004, 01:43 PM) QUOTE (neilpeart_gal @ Sep 2 2004, 12:40 PM) Right on, brother!!! And hey, that's a good movie!!! YES IT IS!!! "Suffer through...." Come on, Jack... When I consider that she's dragging me to see Sting Friday night, I guess it wasn't that bad after all........comparatively speaking.
  6. OK, next quote: 'Well, I suppose I'm deranged but I guess I'll just have to call. Cover your ears darlin'.'
  7. QUOTE (neilpeart_gal @ Sep 2 2004, 01:34 PM) Nope! Actually I believe the full quote is, "You're too twisted for color TV, Clairee. Have your roots done." But I figured that gave too much away. 'Steel Magnolias'. One of the many chick-flicks that She Who Must Be Obeyed has made me suffer through.......
  8. That's a good take, LRF. Definitely something to think about.
  9. I made a revision to the rules and got rid of the 'failure to comply' bit because after much consideration I realized that it was too draconian. Forgive me for waffling, this is my first time as a moderator. I'm learning as I go.
  10. Now, somebody post a new quote! (Please.)
  11. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 2 2004, 05:23 AM) Sorry Jack. Truth is I googled one of the quotes, and felt bad about actually presenting it as a guess, so I was trying to be fair in my own misguided way. Won't happen again. Thank you for the apology, sir! I feel comfortable speaking for all of us in saying that we forgive you!
  12. QUOTE (BSG @ Sep 2 2004, 06:21 AM) QUOTE (Alsgalpal @ Sep 1 2004, 10:07 PM) I mean, it will be interesting anyways, but will add a great twist to the visual scenery.... So AGP, you seem a good person to ask.... Other than Big Al himself, who would you like to see play Lerxst? How about Tony Danza with a little hair coloring? I'm not AGP, but I'll chime in with my suggestion. Steven Seagall as Alex! http://dotplus.ru/mike99/img/seagal.jpg
  13. 1. Almost all movies are fair game. We all try to stump one another, so obscure movies are not out of bounds. 2. Foreign films are tough, so use a bit of discretion. Don't quote in the original language, quote an English translation from the subtitles. 3. It is bad form to offer clues to a movie if you are not the current quoter. 4. Hints may be requested as well as new quotes/pics/questions from or pertaining to the same film. Public requests would be appreciated. If no requests are received and more than 24 hours (1 day) elapses with no guesses, then please post either another question/pic or a hint. 5. Watch the language! This is a family-friendly forum. Lots of movies contain vulgar language or scenes, I know. But don't post any here. If you violate this rule, your post will be deleted and you will forfeit your turn. 6. Include the original quote/pic/question with your answer. 7. You have 24 hours (one day) to respond to guesses, or to post the next pic/quote/question if you are 'up', if you do not respond within 24 hours (one day) you will lose your turn. I can't think of anything else, I may revise this later. Everyone please respond to this thread saying that you have read and understand these rules if you wish to play the movie quote game. Thank you.
  14. OK, since a lot of people already know the answer, the next person here may give us a new quote. The movie from which I was quoting was 'Camelot'.
  15. All right, folks. Looks like I need to write some rules for the quote game. Madras, just because you know the name of the movie does not give you license to offer clues. You can ask publicly or privately but you may not arbitrarily post them. Cool?
  16. The judge says to a double-homicide defendant, "You're charged with beating your wife to death with a hammer." A voice at the back of the courtroom yells out, "You bastard!" The judge says, "You're also charged with beating your mother-in-law to death with a hammer." The voice in the back of the courtroom yells out, "You bastard!" The judge stops and says to the guy in the back of the courtroom, "Sir, I can understand your anger and frustration at this crime. But no more outbursts from you, or I'll charge you with contempt. Is that understood?" The guy in the back of the court stands up and says, "I'm sorry, Your Honor, but for fifteen years, I've lived next door to that bastard, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn't have one."
  17. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Sep 1 2004, 01:16 PM) QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 31 2004, 04:19 AM) Thanks for watching the store while I was on my forced hiatus, BSG. I'll take it from here. Methinks a hint or two might be in order Jack Can do. Here's another quote: 'Wrong or right, they have the might, so wrong or right, they're always right, and that's wrong... right?' I'm in a generous mood, so here's another: 'Far more seasoned rascals than you have polished their souls, I advise you, get out the wax. Better to be rubbed clean than rubbed out.'
  18. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Sep 1 2004, 11:40 AM) I never thought I would say this after Batman Forever, but I'm actually excited about this new Batman movie. That trailer has a much darker atmosphere then the cartoony ones in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. It almost even seems darker then the first two. Thanks for the link Jack. You're very welcome, and I agree absolutely with everything you said. Plus, the cast is amazing! Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Liam Neeson. I am very tempted to say: 'How can they go wrong?'.
  19. It occured to me that we may have some peeps here who have not seen it. 'Batman Begins'
  20. Yep, that's him! http://www.joblo.com/newsimages1/batsuit.jpg
  21. This looks stylistically cool. Bale is doing what he does best: playing the wild-eyed intense guy. WARNING: the long trailer contains nudity and adult language, definitely not office-friendly. The three short trailers are safe, but they don't contain a whole lot. 'The Machinist'
  22. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Aug 30 2004, 11:26 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Aug 29 2004, 08:02 AM) Hey, I loved the Pink Panther when I was a kid. I've looked everywhere for a DVD set and can't find one. Does anyone know if this exists? Any help is appreciated. Are you referring to the Clouseau movies or the cartoon series? You know what? I just noticed that you had the word 'cartoon' in the subject line for this thread. Nothing gets by me, does it?
  23. The only Pink Panther cartoons available on DVD are a collection of shorts originally shown in theaters during the 60's. There are no 'Inspector' or 'Ant And The Aardvark' shorts on this one. Here's a link: Jet Pink
  24. QUOTE (BSG @ Aug 31 2004, 09:01 AM) Does this mean I need to wait for him before responding? Well, yes, that would have been the courteous thing to do..... Snowdog's a cool guy and he may not mind. But he still might stomp you like a narc at a biker rally.
  25. http://us.ent4.yimg.com/movies.yahoo.com/images/hv/photo/movie_pix/mgm/this_is_spinal_tap/_group_photos/christopher_guest4.jpg DISCUSS!
