  1. Hello? DonnaWanna? Please stop by, ma'am.
  2. From Coming Soon: Warner Bros. Remaking Hawaii Five-O Source: Variety Thursday, September 9, 2004 Warner Bros. has acquired remake rights to Hawaii Five-O, with Ocean's Twelve screenwriter George Nolfi set to write the script, reports Variety. George Litto, who was the agent of series creator Leonard Freeman, will produce the film. With its lush Oahu setting, popular theme song and signature lead detective character Steve McGarrett (played by Jack Lord), Hawaii Five-O is perhaps the most remake-friendly TV series not previously under studio control, says the trade. CBS broadcast the series from 1968 to 1980. Nolfi has begun writing and filming is expected to start next Spring in Oahu for an early Summer 2006 release. There is even a time schedule for sequels. Nolfi is reportedly sticking close to the original "Five-O" series plot. Chappelle & Gondry Team on Musical Comedy Source: Variety Thursday, September 9, 2004 Comedian Dave Chappelle has teamed up with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry to produce and star in an untitled feature to be directed by Gondry, reports Variety. The plot, being kept under wraps, is based on an idea by Chappelle and will combine music and comedy. Chappelle will emcee and do standup and scripted comedy. The trade says the movie will have a documentary aspect to it with some of the musical and comedy elements to be filmed live from the musical and comedy event that will take place in New York. It was inspired by Wattstax, a documentary of a nonstop seven-hour musical event in August 1972 at the Los Angeles Coliseum that starred soul, R&BR&B and gospel artists and was hosted by comedian Richard Pryor. The movie will start shooting later this month on location in Brooklyn. Chappelle recently signed an eight-figure deal to keep his Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central through 2006. He will also star in King of the Park at Universal for filmmaker Tom Shadyac. Ledger, Rush & Collette Return Down Under Source: The Hollywood Reporter Thursday, September 9, 2004 Heath Ledger, Geoffrey Rush and Toni Collette are returning home Down Under for three films subsidized by the Australian government, says The Hollywood Reporter. Ledger, currently shooting Lasse Hallstrom's untitled Casanova project in Venice, will play alongside rising star Abbie Cornish (Somersault) and Oscar-winner Rush in an adaptation of the best-selling Australian novel Candy. The book's author, Luke Davies, adapted the screenplay with Neil Armfield, who will direct the film, in which two lovers' intersecting lives take them on a journey of lust, addiction and self-destruction. Collette will star in Like Minds as a forensic psychologist appointed by police to determine whether there is enough evidence to lay murder charges against a 16-year-old boy remanded in juvenile detention after the shotgun death of his schoolmate. It is the first feature film from writer/director Gregory Read.

  11. Cruz news. From Coming Soon.net Head in the Clouds and Sahara star Penelope Cruz will star in the psychological drama Chromophobia, set in contemporary London. The $10 million film is written and directed by Martha Fiennes. Variety says Chromophobia started shooting a couple of weeks ago on the Isle of Man. It will move to locations in London this fall. Probing the dilemmas of modern London life, where the old-fashioned virtues of honesty and loyalty are replaced by the new morality of success and celebrity, it's the story of a bourgeois family slowly coming apart at the seams. Cruz joins a cast that includes the director's brother Ralph Fiennes, Kristin Scott Thomas, Rhys Ifans, Ian Holm, Ben Chaplin, Damian Lewis and Harriet Walters.
  12. More from Dark Horizons: The Hollywood Reporter indicates Edie Falco, Camilla Belle, Shawn Ashmore and Martin Donovan have joined Elisha Cuthbert in the independent dramatic thriller "Dot" for director Jamie Babbit. Shooting starts this month. "Dot" will see Belle playing the title character, an orphaned teenager sent to live with her godparents and their daughter, Nina (Cuthbert). Unable to hear or speak, Dot's alienated existence takes a disturbing turn when she uncovers the secrets of her new family. Falco plays the mother of Cuthbert's character. The role of the father has yet to be cast. Belle takes over the role following the exit of Thora Birch. Ashmore plays a seemingly typical all-star athlete who turns out to be more than he seems after forming a relationship with Dot, while Donovan will star as the father in the family opposite Falco. The Guardian reports that a press screening of the new Nicole Kidman movie "Birth", about a woman whom believes a 10-year-old boy is the reincarnation of her dead husband, was greeted with a chorus of boos by journalists covering the Venice Film Festival. The movie, directed by Jonathan Glazer, has had its share of controversies over two scenes which feature Kidman and 11-year-old actor Cameron Bright sharing a tender kiss and a bathtub respectively. New Line has insisted that neither actor was naked when the tub scene was filmed. Nevertheless despite the media reaction, "Birth" is the festival's front-runner in the race for the Golden Lion award. The premiere takes place tonight in the Italian city where this year's festival has been plagued by problems of both security and screening operation issues.
  13. Keep checking back, this will become a regular feature. From our friends at Dark Horizons Never say there is a glut of superhero movies to comic book producers eager to earn money, because they're still going ahead with whatever sequels and new properties they can get their hands on. First up the rumours of "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon being tied to the third "X-Men" movie may have grown into fact as a report today over at Production Weekly indicates Whedon has already signed on to direct the third film with production slated to begin in Vancouver in June 2005. Meanwhile, Superhero Hype reports that we can "expect a major announcement from Avi Arad soon about who the new director for Hulk 2 will be. And it looks like they have called Michael France in again to write a draft script for the second movie that will feature the Hulk in a more superhero role" Finally, Comic Book Resources reports that "Allegedly, DC's lord of the seas "Aquaman" is getting the cinematic treatment, courtesy of producers Alan and Peter Riche and writer Ben Grant. They want this Aquaman to be a goofy screwball comedy. Their thought was, 'since he's such a stupid character let's play that up.'" He then warned me that despite his source's reliability, this is still just a rumor for now, so caveat emptor and what not".
  14. I was on a plane back in '84, flying from Anchorage, AK. to Seattle, Wa. My flight had been cancelled so they had upgraded me to first class on the next one. I wound up sitting across the aisle from none other than Roy Scheider. I kept glancing over, wondering if I should ask for an autograph. He noticed that I was looking over and gave me a classic raised-eyebrows 'what do you want?' expression. I hesitated for a moment and blurted out: 'You were right, you needed a bigger boat.'. He smiled, shook his head, and went back to reading his paper. I left him alone for the rest of the flight.

  20. QUOTE (barney_rebel @ Sep 7 2004, 11:46 AM) So there was this old guy that was just diagnosed with cancer. The doctor tells him that he only has about a month to live. Sadly, he realized he has done nothing in his lifetime to serve his country. So he enlists in the army. The recruiter tells him that he is too old to enlist. The old guy sadly asks, "Is there anything I can do for my country?" The recruiter thinks for a second and answers, "Yes - you can donate some sperm. We are trying to develop steroids for our soldiers through growth hormones. Go see the nurse if you are interested." So the old guy is excited of this opportunity and goes and sees the nurse. The nurse hands him a jar and tells him to use the back room. The old guy takes the jar and goes into the back room. The nurse hears moaning and growning for about 10 minutes straight. Finally the old guy pops out of the room and she sees that the jar is empty. He says to her, "look - I tried with my right hand, I tried with my left hand... and I even tried with both hands.... But I can't open the goddamn jar..." GROAN!

It's OK, this has been going on for a while now. I should just ignore him but it pisses me off when people try to belittle me and try to make me feel stupid. It's about to get out of hand here. It's very unecessary, I need to be the bigger person and ignore him but I can't help to get pissed. It's hard to believe this guy is 40 years old. So you show that you are the bigger person by spamming the board?! It's a wonder you can walk, your testicles must be the size of watermelons!
