I'm falling asleep - can't keep my eyes open. Yet I sit here reading this stuff. WHY?
-
You have a good point there, SF. Love 2112 in full!!

Mine used to be ESL. Now it's RIR. The mixing s*cks on it - but I like the newer music (heavier, more bass!), so I keep listening to RiR.

PS: Welcome to the board, GD!

It's kind of weird, but I know more female Rush fans than males. When I was in college, everyone in our circle of friends were Rush fans, but the women were more ardent fans than the guys. It was the women who turned me into a Rush FANATIC (rather than just a fan), and also introduced me to Dream Theater. This summer, I had just gotten my single ticket to the Mansfield, MA show, and ran into my neighbor. He's always struck me as someone who would be a big Rush fan (not to mention that he has many similarities to Neil!). He hadn't realized I was a Rush fan, and told me that his new wife (first wife died of lung cancer) was a HUGE Rush fan. I couldn't take her to the MA show, but we went to the Hartford show together, and then we drove up to TO for a long weekend to see that show. It made such a difference going to the shows with another female who appreciates the boys as much as I do!

I have to go with Presto also. It's so underrated, it was the 2nd Rush album I bought, and one of the last that I fell in love with. It took almost 10 years to realize what I had been missing out on. I just had never really listened to it. Now it's one of my favorite albums!

I'm surprised VT has so few votes. Sure, Moving Pictures was the album that turned my into a Rush fan, and there are a few other albums that rank right up at the top for me. But I keep coming back to VT. After 2.5 years, I still don't get tired of it!

TRUFFLES There's a chocolate shop in Bar Harbor, ME, (Ben and Bill's) that sells the BIGGEST truffles I've ever seen! They're larger than a golf ball (almost 3x the normal truffle size). Every time we go to Acadia National Park, my hubby lets me get 6 or 12 of them to bring home. We vacuum seal them to keep them longer. It's the ultimate chocolate rush to eat an entire one by yourself. I also make my own truffles every year at Xmas. As my hubby says, "How do you make chocolate more fattening? Add Heavy Cream!" I make 4-8 different flavors, depending on how much time I have. Making the ganache is simple enough, but then rolling and coving or dipping the truffles gets quite time consuming. But they are SOOOO Good!!

Xanadu - Thanks for the Aero Bar!! YUM GG - Dove is the best (store-bought) chocolate; but not the milk - Gotta go with Dove DARK!!! Dove Eggs, Dove Presents, Dove Bars.... oooh, I'm getting hungry!!

QUOTE (xanadu66 @ Jan 17 2005, 02:50 PM)SMARTIES *Dont forget the little tune that goes with them* "When you eat your Smarties do you eat the red ones last?..Do you suck them very slowly?.. Or crunch them very fast?" And a question...Do they have Smarties everywhere? or is it just a Canadain thing? I don't think it's just a Canadian thing, but it's certainly not a USA thing. My husband is a big fan of them, but his family used to get them either from Lebanon or Japan (not sure which). I've never seen them in the US - except for specialty/import stores. They probably don't want to complete against M&Ms!! Some other great chocolates that we poor Yankees don't have easy access to: - Cadbury Flakes - Nestle Aero Bars YUM!! I think I'll have to take a (long) road trip to CA to get some!! [Or make friends with someone in CA who will mail them to me - Any takers?!?!]

Darn it!! I just finished dinner - was SO good - only had * 1 * tiny bite of the Chocolate Cookies + Cream Ice Cream..... And then I see this!! It's SOOO hard not to run back and eat half the box of ice cream (or the Toblerone bar in the cupboard!!)

QUOTE (Rolinda Bonz @ Jan 15 2005, 02:23 AM) well....it may be what got me kicked off of another (nameless) forum but seeing a real time picture, I think it bares repeating. (and if I'm still a member tomorrow, I'll post it in the poetry thread.) Neil is hot 'Cause what he's got Is gorgeous to the core His handsome face Is full of grace But, God, there's so much more. His Superman body Makes me think naughty Things I'd like to FEEL But who am I kidding Circumstances forbidding I'll just focus on what is real. That's great, RB! Very will written, and it captures the feelings all we Sistahs share about Neil!! As for getting kicked off the board - I don't think that will happen HERE! Sure, at some other board, but who cares?!?! TRF, and its members, seems to be much more open, relaxed, and appreciative/respective of people's thoughts and opinions - whatever they are! That's why I've chosen to work on coming out of my "lurker" shell on TRF rather than other boards! ON, Sistahs!!!!

QUOTE (Drumnut @ Jan 13 2005, 01:17 PM) 29 again!!! I prefer to say "29 Forever" If you say AGAIN - people might try to count the agains (and again, and again.....)

QUOTE (BSG @ Jan 13 2005, 01:06 PM)At the risk of causing GG to succumb to "the vapors", here's a pic (or two): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/Rush/NEP20050113.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/bsg2112/Rush/NEP200501132.jpg *Edited to add another pic. Hope ya don't mind, Neil-nymphs...* Aahhh.... Not only a pic of Neil - but of Neil SMILING. Now I'm smiling too! Go to rush.com to see more pics from the Relief Concert rehearsals!

Jeez, Barn, I'm jealous - what's your secret? I haven't been carded in years, and I'm only early 30's .... Oops, I mean "Forever 29" !! It's depressing that I look older than I act!

My hubby thinks I collect TOO MUCH Rush stuff, but he's never met any of you! In addition to Rush, I collect nutcrackers - lots of them! (Don't worry boys - not THAT kind of nutcracker!! ) I have about 60-70 around my house, and they range from 1" to 5 Feet tall!! I also put up a 2nd Xmas tree with about 50-60 nutcracker ornaments. Family + Friends have expanded my collection to include nutcracker rugs, wreaths, candleholders, matchstick boxes, salt+peppers, and even a Wilton cake pan in the shape of a nutcracker ("toy soldier"). I figure by the time I'm 70, the house will be overrun with 'em, and I can end up on some talk show or the news - "Old Lady NUTS over Nutcrackers!"

Thank you, LSM. Up until this year, I had always thought Neil was the hottest. But Geddy IS getting better with age. WARNING: Excessive Geddy Viewing could cause "Hangers" If you don't know what "hangers" are, picture a large dog salivating over your dinner!!

QUOTE (D-13 @ Jan 7 2005, 05:23 PM)LOL I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! http://www.falstaff.net/mweintr/pictures/misc/geddy.jpg I like the end of the video when he says: "For those of you with a metal toboggan, never touch it with your tongue." Heavens, Ged! You're right! There are plenty of other things your beautiful tongue should be touching, like..... (family forum - can't mention them here!!)

Despite adverse weather (rain, humidity, ugh!!), I still have to go with outdoors. The "light show" that sometimes occurs - sunsets, clouds, night sky, moon, all just add to the ambience of the show. Of course, I would never do lawn seats for a Rush show! Too far away from the boys, and too risky if it rained!!

There is so much to this brilliant man, and you reduce him to just a "package"..... Who am I kidding?!?! That collage is SWEET!!
