  5. QUOTE (Alsgalpal @ Jan 28 2005, 03:59 PM) Wow, I think there are probably a small collection of songs I dont particularly care for, I just enjoy about everything they have done. I guess tho, everyone is entitled to an opinion... I haven't seen a song listed yet that I don't like. I might not listen to some of them that often, but there isn't a single Rush song that I would want "banished"! (Esp. Losing It - that's one of my fav's!!)
  6. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 28 2005, 08:06 AM) QUOTE (Spike @ Jan 27 2005, 12:40 AM) You know I spend most of my time in Geddy's thread, but I love Neil too, and I can't let him get too far behind. Therefore, here is my first picture posting (hope it works!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/mamidmmk/neil.jpg I just noticed the name on the stern of his boat. "Miz Jackie." Named for his daughter, I assume. That pic was taken before the accident, but still... Close, but not quite, 1-0-0-1. Jackie was Neil's first wife (Selena was his daughter). This is an older pic, so it was definitely taken before the accident. Also, if you notice, beneath "Miz Jackie" it says "SVYC" or "SYYC" I can't remember exactly, but I believe it's a reference to the lake their cabin was on. (Like a small lake would have a Yacht Club - another one of Neil's jokes that many people miss.)

  8. QUOTE (Spike @ Jan 26 2005, 01:13 PM) I've seen some of this clip before (the "winter safety" thing), but I never saw anything part where Geddy was sledding with someone else. Who is the other guy? And where did this come from originally? Tish's topic in Random Samples has the answers. The reporter is Rick Mercer, from the CBC show Monday Report. Monday Report Pretty funny stuff - I can see why Geddy did a piece with him! Ged's Winter Safety video is on the website, but I didn't find the part with both Rick and Ged on the toboggan together.
  9. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Jan 26 2005, 06:35 PM)..my wonderful sister and I get to go to a party after the game with these boys Friday night Woo-hoo!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/JoeyKanko.jpg Holy.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/yummy.jpg LSM, I can't blame you for taking a night away from drooling over Geddy to go party with these guys! #7 is Gorgeous!! (PS - Don't tell my hubby I said so, though!)
  10. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Jan 26 2005, 02:36 PM)...just have to throw this one in again... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/WinterAdvice.jpg And I'll just say again - his poor, cold tongue. I'll warm it right up for him!
  11. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Jan 26 2005, 11:39 AM)Hey Spike! I too was at the Mansfield show this past tour with my sister, Rhiannon of Rivendell And it totally makes a big difference when you can go with other Sisters who love the boys as much as you do If I should find myself "dateless" for the NEXT tour ( ), I will definitely get in touch with you and RoR. Heck - we should get together anyway - even better if I can get my neighbor to go with us! Rush Women - Unite!!
  12. I've seen some of this clip before (the "winter safety" thing), but I never saw anything part where Geddy was sledding with someone else. Who is the other guy? And where did this come from originally? Thanks!
  13. QUOTE (Digital Man @ Jan 25 2005, 07:49 PM) It's the Cool Chicks that dig Rush Hey, I resemble that!
  14. Oh, yeah, Scarves are also good for wiping up drool!!
  15. And then there's the scarf he's wearing.... Scarves are so useful - for keeping things warm, for tying things up, for...... who cares what else!!
  16. Poor Geddy, His cheeks, nose, and lips look so COLD in that picture. Of course, I know just how to warm them up!!! Sorry ladies - I get to him first, this time!!
  17. QUOTE (JoDay @ Jan 24 2005, 06:54 AM)QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Jan 14 2005, 05:20 PM) The Fly by Night album did it for me. One listen and swooooooooon. Thanks everyone for the welcome messages Most of you are sufficiently older than me, eh? And got into this all while probable being even younger than I was... And my Granny keeps telling me I will 'grow out of it'. Tell Granny that she's never too old to grow INTO it! Heck - she could aim for being the oldest Rush chick ever!
  18. Rush sounds better in stereo. I only have 1 earpbud in, and it sounds 1/2 as good.
  19. I'm falling asleep - can't keep my eyes open. Yet I sit here reading this stuff. WHY?
  20. You have a good point there, SF. Love 2112 in full!!
  21. Mine used to be ESL. Now it's RIR. The mixing s*cks on it - but I like the newer music (heavier, more bass!), so I keep listening to RiR.
  22. It's kind of weird, but I know more female Rush fans than males. When I was in college, everyone in our circle of friends were Rush fans, but the women were more ardent fans than the guys. It was the women who turned me into a Rush FANATIC (rather than just a fan), and also introduced me to Dream Theater. This summer, I had just gotten my single ticket to the Mansfield, MA show, and ran into my neighbor. He's always struck me as someone who would be a big Rush fan (not to mention that he has many similarities to Neil!). He hadn't realized I was a Rush fan, and told me that his new wife (first wife died of lung cancer) was a HUGE Rush fan. I couldn't take her to the MA show, but we went to the Hartford show together, and then we drove up to TO for a long weekend to see that show. It made such a difference going to the shows with another female who appreciates the boys as much as I do!
  23. I have to go with Presto also. It's so underrated, it was the 2nd Rush album I bought, and one of the last that I fell in love with. It took almost 10 years to realize what I had been missing out on. I just had never really listened to it. Now it's one of my favorite albums!
  24. I'm surprised VT has so few votes. Sure, Moving Pictures was the album that turned my into a Rush fan, and there are a few other albums that rank right up at the top for me. But I keep coming back to VT. After 2.5 years, I still don't get tired of it!
