  1. Herb is the best by far BUT I really love Brain's style of straight-ahead groove for those couple albums (Brown & Anti-Pop). And then he was temporarily replaced by Jay Lane who actually was their 1st drummer before Herb so that's sort of okay too. I like your Primus knowledge. I do think Brain is a great drummer. Jay too. I'm just a Herb geek. I love him. He's in my top five. Jay was also in Sausage right? Yeah and so was Todd Huth who was their original guitarist. There's a great live clip from way way back with the original mid-80s lineup playing Sgt. Baker and it's so awesome. It's so straight-forward and kick ass. Herb added a ton of toms to the beat and though it's probably a lot harder to play it doesn't have that same groove. EDIT: Here, I think this is the one:
  2. Yeah if ever there was a clear case of A.D.D. thar she blows. I wish he'd stick with one side project and not 10,000 of them. Maybe he just likes releasing debut albums? like someone mentioned there's only three i care about 1. Neal Morse Band 2. Flying Colors 3. Transatlantic. but seriously whenever he announces one nowadays. i think so you'll be leaving the band next week than?lol Mick I own the first Flying Color disc and the live concert DVD they put out around the same time. I much MUCH prefer Casey's vocals to the other guy (Is it Neal Morse??) Too bad they give him so much lead time.
  3. I like how Myung can basically play anything he wants yet oftentimes doubles up Petrucci to keep the mix sounding heavy. In comparison Sheehan- from what I've heard of him- Is just off in his own dimension and doesn't add too much to the overall song. Technically-speaking of course he can play but I guess I feel about Sheehan how some of you guys feel about DT.

  5. Oh and the post saying as long as the most important members are there, how do you explain Genesis' "Calling All Stations"? I think most Genesis fans would say Tony's the most important member if I'm not mistaken.

  7. Cool, not a bunch of stupid-sounding titles. Maybe this will be drama with a BIT of comedy. I'll take it.
  8. Other: Ellen Ripley How can she not be on this list??
  9. FALSE I think U2 for the most part suck. However I think that the War album is amazing and one of the best albums ever. Some of their other older than that stuff is good as well. I highly recommend the old concert at Red Rocks VHS if you can get it, that is superb. P.S: They retire almost all their songs way way too soon. How can something as great as "Like a Song" have only been played once ever??! They must not be able to play it I guess. Maybe they should call in that guitar guy hiding under the stage again for the Edge haha.

  11. Pretty cool. That opening guitar sounds a lot like Tin Legs & Tin Mines by Midnight Oil:
  12. See also: Their drummer, their bassist, etc. Anybody not named Angus I guess haha.
  13. Yeah I was around 4 or so when I saw it in the theater. Honestly the only thing I remember at all is when Luke was looking through the binoculars and the Sand Person jumped up with his stick all *ARRRRGGHHHHUNNNGAHHH!!!!" It must've scared the shit out of me because that's literally the ONLY part I remember from seeing it then.
  14. This was pretty much the start for David Soul, Robert Urich, and Tim Matheson. Bonus: pre-Three's Company Suzanne Somers topless in a pool Yeah but not for long! *SNIPE*
  15. Hell yeah man, Escape from Alcatraz is really good too.
  16. Clint is one of my favorite actors ever, but I think it's gotta be super western heavy in this case: 1) High Plains Drifter 2) The Good the Bad & The Ugly 3) Unforgiven Runner ups: Magnum Force, Tightrope, Gran Torino, Pale Rider.
  17. Whoah, this thread was necro'd from 8 years ago!!
  18. When you think about it, the timing for The Orville couldn't be any better: CBS brings us- A series being made mostly for $$$, where executives who don't understand Trek meddle enough to get showrunners to quit Another prequel which most fans don't want JJ isms up the wazoo Klingons now look like .. I don't even know The ship looks like a rusty flying Dorito Delays, delays, delays On a streaming service nobody I know or myself has, to watch this and only this one show Seth brings us- A series being made by a guy who genuinely loves Trek and "gets" what makes it good (ex. The Inner Light or The Visitor over the alien of the week) Looks WAY more appealing to any of us who loved the 90's vibe Trek Has Trek alumni already in the cast (Kassidy Yates, Bashir's dad are in the trailer) Has Trek alumni behind the scenes (cameramen and etc) The ship looks pretty cool Aliens are a big homage to the Jem H'dar from DS9 Not on some specific streaming service to shit all over Trek fans
  19. I'll reiterate what hundreds of others have already said on the trailer's comment section: This looks more like Star Trek than Discovery.
  20. Instead? Dude, you don't know what you were missing out on. I guess you just didn't know any hot chicks who liked to dress up and role play as nymphomaniac elves . . . Nymphomaniac elves! 'tis a real thing, believe it or not Drow females are like this IIRC, it's been a while since I've played Baldur's Gate 2 though.
  21. You have to fully throw yourself into it, and realize 90% of what you say at the table is completely ridiculous. Once you get past the "wow this is kind of embarrassing" part it's pretty fun actually. If you can say "I go up to the Owlbear and cleave it in twain with my bastard sword!" with gusto and a straight face then this is the game for you lol. Me, I enjoy the AD&D 2nd edition ruleset, which was from the late 80s and no longer used I guess. THAC0, the lower AC = better, 1D4+1 damage rolls and etc.
  22. Whoa it's no Firefly but few things are. I bet there is 2:30 hrs of comedy gold coming. I hope you enjoy it. Personally, it's been done and I find nothing funny about Seth MacFarland. Nothing. Family Guy is old and tired, but American Dad is an AWESOME show. It helps that Seth wasn't the main writer for most of it.
  23. I look at it this way: James is a spotty live singer however he also comes up with awesome vocal melodies for the songs themselves. So many DT songs have great great vocal passages and choruses, and odds are that's all LaBrie. P.S: Freddy was the #1 best ever, you can't compare LaBrie to him that;'s not fair that's like comparing Meg White to Neil Peart.
