  2. QUOTE (Dr.Gomez @ Jan 15 2006, 10:54 AM) Here she is! http://members.shaw.ca/lolaland/hildao.jpg Hilda Ogden I think you may want to stop looking now.
  3. Hilda Fun Fact of the Day Hilda only ever used one paragraph break in all her time on The Rush Forum (so far people, so far! [deep breath, deep breath]). From now on, I am going to follow her lead and not use paragraph breaks in my posts, except for one final one. And there is was. Love to all, and You Disco
  4. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Dec 5 2005, 03:36 PM) Robert Plant - Dublin - this Friday Who got a top review in today's Times:- http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/art...1905489,00.html I'm off to see Porcupine Tree tomorrow, I've not heard any of their stuff but I know some peeps on this board like them so I'll be intrigued to hear them... 5. QUOTE (softfilter @ Nov 29 2005, 02:00 PM) FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! If i was a single man I'd buy it in a heart beat but if I bought it now ... I would soon be one. Yeah, the argument of "Sweetheart, I've got to go out an spend $100 on coke so that I can be off my head enough to spend $500 (plus shipping!) on, er, a book" doesn't cut much ice with the ladies... You know, if I did buy it it eould always be there on my shelf mocking me silently saying "What the blazes were you thinking off. A holiday or me, you chose me". Lve to all Disco
  6. Wow, BSG, what a night !!! A great tale from the whisky supping to the eclipse tickets - are we too cool to shout that that's absolutely fantastic? Hell bleeping no! How close were you and how pretty was the girl?? I saw U2 ages and ages ago (Zoorpoa tour) and had one of the best times I've ever had at a concent. wasnt' a fan before but was a real convert. Dancing away to the support bands, pretending to score a goal on hallowed turf of Wembley (major soccer stadium in the UK) and puffing up with my mates. And U2. The best band for a stadium show by a country mile. Disco
  7. Yeah, I agree with Goober (before seeing his post, honest!) - side 1 of Moving Pictures It's not my favourite album, but seeing those four songs listed together - well every single moment is classic stuff. Love to all Disco
  8. I'm just back from the John Peel Tribute gig (see my post above). Oh. My God. Check out Venetian Snares. The hardest, nastiest, bass-heavy relentless assualt of drums and bass I've ever heard, it's an ephinany of pure bliss. A euphoric drenching in loud, loud deep bass. Oh, and later in the same very small hall New Order did a set of only Joy Division songs. Which, as they say, was nice. Love to all Disco
  9. Good spot Slaine, a very creditable 13 for me (Hey! There's some obscure stuff in there!!). If anyone gets 20 without peeking at books or the interweb it'll be quite something (thoug knowing you lot it'll only be 5 minutes until someone does...). Love to all Disco
  10. 'It's a wonderfuil Life''s a great film isn't it... My favourtie spiritual film, and my favourite film, is Baraka. It has neither dialogue nor characters. Instead, it consists of a sequence of footage shot around the world. It starts with shot of nature, and then turns to showing how man is linked to and is a part of that nature by showing the behaviour patterns we have in common with nature, as well man's various devotional and death rituals. Once you hare truly in your 'we are all one with nature' vibe it then shows man's destructive nature, before turning back to unity. Now, I've only ever seen about 20 films so any recommendation I make comes with that caveat, but if you are looking for a spiritual film then I (strongly) urge you to check this. out. Disco Ps Nice idea for a thread,
  11. Just thinking of the Hoff's talents makes me want to cry. To study this renaissance man is to study life itself. He is known for his acting, his good looks, but his true gift to us, and the world, is his music. Check out the reviews at the below link. "Hot Shot City" is particularly good and I think A, G and N could learn a thing or two from it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...6329834-7471055 And to think that some folk in England shout "You're nothing, nothing without your robot car" when they see him ( it's true) - have they no soul? 13. Well, last Friday I saw The Bays in a fairly formal small hall in London normally used for classical concerts (The Queen Elizabeth Hall for those who know it). It was just AWESOME. They are a group of musicians who never reherse together, are on no record label, release no records and have no songs. Their concerts are 90 minutes improvised sets. the idea is that this keeps the music pure from commercialism. As a style it's very much like i90s dance music - trance beats, bits of drum and bass and the like. The drummer Andy Gangadeen is superb. For the drummers out there, he uses no tom as he considers using them will distract people who are locked onto his groove. There are free legal downloads at www.thebays.com, so check it out. you have to give yoru email address, but i have and it's safe - you don't get any spam only the occassional email from them, which you can unsubscribe. it was strange seeing dance music in a formal hall sitting down -it's music for the body so you really have to dance to it. The only people who got up were the old codgers who walked out having not knowng they were about to see a dance act!! Love to you all Disco
