  1. Besides those first two tracks, Heavy Weather is probably the dullest fusion record I have heard and it really put me off from the genre. I really expected better from dudes like Zawinul and Shorter.
  2. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Dec 19 2007, 09:44 PM)By the way, Rockit was cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7dAxvj2mlU Man, you gotta post some of his post-bop work; that's his essential stuff imo. Check out this groovy tune from Empyrean Isles:
  3. Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage Wayne Shorter - JuJu Blue Mitchell - The Thing To Do Freddie Hubbard - Ready For Freddie Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers - Mosaic There's six of the many wonderful hard bop jazz albums out there. You might consider them more "straight-ahead" jazz than Cobham (whom plays fusion from what I've heard), but they are still very easy to absorb.
  4. Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburg Concertos: 1. No. 2 2. No. 5 3. No. 6 4. No. 3 5. No. 4 6. No. 1
  5. It's too bad they didn't have much success here in the US. Never Turn Your Back On A Friend is a fantastic 70s hard rock album.
  6. This movie will become a cult classic, I just know it.
