  1. I can't say I'm a huge fan of theirs, in that I only know two songs of theirs by heart ("Midlife Crisis", which I love to death, and "Epic", whose piano outro I can play ), but I've heard Angel Dust a few times and I had no urge to change the record. I need to listen to that record some more.
  2. QUOTE (WIDE-ANGLE WATCHER @ Sep 5 2010, 01:29 AM)My 10 yr. old son and I saw Green Day on Sept 2 in San Diego.... Old school punk....Lots of energy....Lots of fun It was my son's first concert.....on the way home he fell asleep in his new Green Day shirt and in the morning told me it was the best night of his life.....until a new best night happens. I've seen five large concerts (Rush 3 times, Muse once, and Green Day once) and I believe that the Green Day concert I went to last year was the greatest concert experience of my life. Every little thing was awesome... I'd love to be able to top that show, but it looks like a stretch.
  3. Yo, locator, do you have single edits of your posts? I don't have the attention span to read a 17-paragraph post.
  4. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Sep 6 2010, 10:20 PM)some of these posts (and doubtlessly some forthcoming) I'd love to respond to, and i will when i get some time. Don't worry, I'll do a mock post of how you'd respond to my post. "Tim, you have a terrible taste in music and I hope you die in a boat fire... unless you make your post completely identical to mine."
  5. Normally I'd include albums I ranked 10 out of 10, but I find some of those slightly less-than-perfect, or I feel like I haven't listened to them enough to consider them perfect. Big & Rich - Comin' to Your City Boston - Boston Coldplay - Viva La Vida The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love Dr. Dre - The Chronic Green Day - American Idiot Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Radiohead - In Rainbows Rush - Counterparts Rush - Grace Under Pressure Rush - Hemispheres Rush - Permanent Waves Rush - Power Windows Van Halen - Van Halen Van Halen - 1984 The Who - Who's Next Yes - Close to the Edge Yes - Fragile Yes - Going for the One Yes - Relayer Yes - 90125

  7. Here's two videos by blink-182 that show their more mature side.
  8. QUOTE (Rushchick10 @ Sep 5 2010, 03:40 AM)Now, for something completely different... Paramore - Misery Business Pretty good song (Riot! is a good, but IMO not great, album), and the video was pretty cool. Here's my video, also by Paramore:
  9. I'll list everything. - Georgia obliterates Louisiana-Lafayette for our season opener. - Georgia Southern obliterates Savannah State for our season opener. - Florida plays a shitty game. (They won, though. ) - Braves won, maintaining first place in the NL East. What will make tomorrow (technically, it's today) is if I get to hang out with someone I haven't seen in over a year. I'm not expecting it, because she's always busy, but we're both hoping to see each other tomorrow.

  12. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Aug 29 2010, 11:27 PM)Just got back from the Jon Anderson acoustic show. He put on a great show and played guitar, piano, ukelele, and sitar. The opener was Lisa Bouchelle who performed an acoustic set. Overall, a very good show. I swear, I'm gonna find a way to go to his show in Atlanta. Money may be tight but the tickets are something like $30 and it's on a Sunday night so I've got all that time to spend in Atlanta or whatever.

  14. Alex's awesome guitar tone (courtesy of the Hentor Sportscasters), Neil's percussion experimentation and lyrics, and Geddy's vocals, basswork, and keyboard usage. It's my fourth-favorite Rush record.

  16. Hung out with a few friends at our school's first football game of the year. One of my friends wasn't feeling well, and got up and left without saying anything, and without her purse. After a little while, we got concerned so we started looking for her, which basically lasted until the game ended. We looked everywhere in the stadium, except for the visitors side of the stadium, even getting a girl to look for her in the women's restroom. We found her sitting up on a hill, totally zoned out. When we tried to get her to leave, she blacked out, and was out for a few minutes. I think it was due to the heat, and her drinking Coke and not eating, although she said something similar to this happened to her last school year. Nonetheless, it scared the shit out of me. I was very glad that her dad took her home, as opposed to her taking an ambulance to the hospital.
  17. QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Aug 27 2010, 11:26 PM) There's no way Rivendell is that low, dude. It's a kick-ass song. ...but you feel that way about EVERY Rush song.
  18. QUOTE (Jake2112 @ Aug 25 2010, 08:29 PM)Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) When I saw that, I was gonna rage... but then I saw that you also don't like Tom's voice.
  19. - Half of the singers of bands signed to Fueled by Ramen - Axl Rose (sometimes) - Miley Cyrus - Tom Delonge's live voice
  20. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Aug 24 2010, 05:37 PM)The lead singer in Garbage. Get the hell out. But seriously, though...
  21. QUOTE (thelocator @ Aug 21 2010, 11:18 PM)Can Transatlantic's The Whirlwind be considered a masterpiece already if it only came out this year? I thought it came out last year I consider The Decemberists' The Hazards of Love a masterpiece, and it came out in like March of 2009.
  22. "No, It Isn't" by +44 is one of the most beautiful sad songs that I've ever heard. <3
  23. QUOTE (Bastille Dave @ Aug 21 2010, 05:11 AM) being a huge music fan is like knowing a big secret that nobody else knows, ya know. I'm not talkin' about people online (there are millions of music fans, alot on here as well) but I'm talkin' about people in your everyday life who dont love music 1/10 as much as you do. In my daily life, I dont know anyone who loves music as much as me. Sure some people own louder steroes and more expensive audio stuff and maybe even owning an instrument but that doesnt mean beans as far as loving music, eating-breathing-sleeping-living-music, ya know. and no just because someone plays a guitar doesnt mean they love music more either. Agreed. I'm sure that there are people here that love music as much as I do, I just haven't found them yet.
