  1. Last tour I was 6th row and it was the most amazing thing I've ever been to in the world. I can't even imagine how it is front row, but hopefully next time I'll know.

This is divine............. I can't stop staring... om nom nom Welcome back Heather!! Thanks Jaye. I couldn't stay away forever, life can settle down a little so I can get my well-needed tour info and Geddy-droolage on.
  4. QUOTE (Mara @ May 5 2010, 08:13 AM) I got a couple of items signed last tour. Don't send anything rare you can't bear to part with (never trust the Post Office), and be considerate - don't send your entire collection. I planned on sending 2-ish album covers (by that I meant the little CD inserts) of some of my favorite albums. I don't want to be a crazy fan who boxes up their entire collection of Rush memorabilia. So I just send it to the venue addressed for Rush and include an SASE. I don't send things.......well really ever. So I imagine I'll be taking a trip to the post office to receive some much needed help. This post has been really helpful so far, though, so thanks guys
  5. Like someone else said, I don't think its idiocy if you can afford to pay for it. There's no way in hell I can pay for that being a 20 year old college student, but I'm fine with my modest tickets. If I had the money though, I'd certainly consider paying quite a bit of money for VIP tickets for Rush. They're the only, only, ONLY band I would consider doing that for. Infact, they're really the only band where I care very much about where I am.... Geddy's side, first 10 rows That's always the objective. I made it last time, not going to make it this time. But my seats are decent and I didn't go broke. So I'm happy.
  6. QUOTE (Ted Barchetta @ Apr 29 2010, 05:43 PM) I think The Analog Kid would be an awesome opener. Perhaps that's just because i'm listening to it right now. Great song! Oh I SO agree. I want them to play The Analog Kid so much. It's one of my absolute favorite songs and it always gives me chills when I listen to it. You move me, you move me...
  7. I remember a while back from the last tour people would send stuff to the venue to get signed? I can't remember the exact details but this sort of thing is relevant to my interests.....

  14. Yeah, sorry, I have to go with altering your license plate is not a smart move. I know you did it because you thought it was cool, but the police have to wonder why you are trying to alter your license plate. Trying to make a smooth getaway? Yeah and questioning the cop, telling him he didn't know what he was talking about, not a smooth move. It's no big deal, we all make mistakes. I think you should just man up, pay the fine and move on. Lesson learned. and here's an excuse to use one of my favorite quotes of all time. "Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up again."
  15. 1. Cloverfield 2. Iron Man 3. Evil Dead 4. The Strangers 5. Tough call...I've seen a lot of movies this year... Sin City

I can't really say because I havn't seen the movie yet but based on what I have seen in the trailers it looks more like a suspense/terror film. I classify horror by one simple factor: is there a supernatural/super-something element in addition to the element of fear? A movie based in reality without monsters, aliens, mutants, ghosts, etc. wouldn't be a horror to me. It'd be a thriller. Since WOTW and Cloverfield have super-characters and have scenes intended to frighten I view them as horror. (sci-fi horror, but horror none the less) See, that's not how I classify horror at all...things I know can't happen don't scare me. Only things that actually can happen, and things that make me think...realllllly scare me. I'm thinking of one seen in particularly in The Strangers, scariest scene in the whole movie... It is not really a spoiler to any plot points in the movie, but if you just don't want to know anything about the movie....don't highlight whats in the quote box. QUOTE Liv Tyler's character is alone in the house. The boyfriend leaves to buy cigarrettes. Liv is walking around the living room...and the dude with the mask from the trailer is in the background in the shadows, just watching her. It's just such an unsettling scene. My boyfriend didn't even notice....because I got like freaked out and hid in him and was like OMG....and he looked at me like wtf and then he was like HOLY SHIT. We were talking later and he was like it makes you think how scary that would be ...but you wouldn't even know! and if its happened before! But yeah...scary ass movie. The only movie I have ever classified as a Sci-Fi horror is Alien. While it didn't scare me, that movie was clearly made as a horror film. It's all semantics. I agree that movies based in reality should be more frightening, but for the scares to work they need to be done well. Movies with a more fantastical approach can probably get away with more as far as plausibility which generally lessens the fear factor, at least for me. Here's some films I recommend.... May http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0303361/ And if you're not afraid of subtitles and blood: Haute Tension http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338095/ A L'Interieur http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0856288/ I know too much about High Tension to watch it. I had that movie spoiled for me. The other ones look really good though. I'm wondering if anyone has seen Ils. French film supposed to be just like the Strangers except...more disturbing.

Last good horror I saw was Cloverfield. I wouldn't really consider it a horror movie. Aside from the subway scene it's more of a War of the Worlds type film. Good movie though. I enjoyed it alot. And hopefully The Strangers will be better than Prom Night. But War Of The Worlds is horror too. I wouldn't consider War of the Worlds or Cloverfield horror, even though I love both those movies. Neither of them scared me. What type of horror is The Strangers? I can't really say because I havn't seen the movie yet but based on what I have seen in the trailers it looks more like a suspense/terror film. That's exactly what it is. People are catagorizing it as a "slasher" film, but I don't see it as that. Like...its all about atmosphere and suspense, and just...pure terror.

The Ruins was good...ummm so was 1408 as mentioned before...I'm sure I've seen some other horror movies that have come out recently...I really can't think of any right now...I'll come back.
