  1. on the FOABP tour they ended with sleep together. the guy running the board kicked it up to like 11 on that song. it really rocked. that was my favorite tour to date. saw them since deadwing. that tour was stellar also. great song choices. to bad this tour is not so great. they switch up the set list every other gig it seems. i went to the philly show and got the crappy 2nd set list. oh well. next tour. i have seen them at the avalon and house of booze in LA. great venues for PT.
  2. the PT tour this time around is not that good. the incident was ok live. the 2nd set tunes were just ok. fear of a blank planet was amazing. great song choice. next tour i'm sure they will be rockin.
  3. gavins co-op album with ric05 is great. the album drop and circles are really good. odd tunes but the drumming is brilliant. i mean brilliant!
  4. about 100 years ago it did happen. look it up. homes and apartments started to use power around 1905ish. the grid we have now was nothing like it was back then. there was also not that much juice going through the wires. now we have massive amounts of power surging through the power lines. a huge solar flare would do lots of damage. it's a possibility. i think preparing for something this big is futile. unless you pack up now and live some where remote and live off the land. i'm gonna pick up some of the books mentioned. this is a very good thread indeed.
  5. everyone on the planet will need lots of survival gear and get used to living off the land once again. in about two years give or take a few the sun will be at it's maximum output of solar flares. happens every 11 years or so. what could happen this time around is the plasma output from a solar flare could wipe out all of the transformers that supply us electricity. once they are burned up from a solar flare it cannot be repaired. only replaced and there are only a hand full of them out there right now. so get used to no more anything. you will have to fetch your own food, water, heat and so forth. no more gas for cars also. electricity will be a thing of the past for decades if it ever came back. no more medicine or hospital care. in a few months millions will be dead here in the united states. thousands will die in a weeks time. crazy how we depend on electricity so much. there have been close calls with solar flares in the past. this past year the sun has come out of it's slumber and is producing some fantastic shows. go to spaceweather.com and see for yourself. it's a cool bookmark. this will also happen without no warning. one spring or fall day it will go off and stay off. no cell phones will work either. all satellites will be fried and then some. there are plenty of articles on the internet on the subject. some from nasa themselves.
  6. PT are not doing the same venues as they did last year. they are going to different cities this time around. saw them in philly last year and that venue sucked. worst place to see a band. you were only allowed to drink in a certain section of the venue. east coast venues suck in general. have always had a great time seeing them in LA. sound is much better there. the borgata in AC is nice. be great if they played there.
  7. i want that damn FOABP dvd to come out soon.
  8. I just want more blackfield music. Those two cd's are brilliant. I'm sure that band is over and done with cause Steve is one busy player. I love the live DVD they did in NYC. I want more.
  9. it's not legit at all. come on guy. i know the person who has the drums. well through a friend and those are not the ones. they are not at your store home boy. please. so easy to replicate drums anyhow.
  10. how painful can it be to say a simple "hey or hi"? come on. The only way to get into la ve lee that night is if you a friend of freddies. it's a small club. there were a few other famous jazz drummers there that night. i will not mention their names. it's not like there are NP stalkers at a jazz club. it was mostly family and friends of freddy. marco mendoza and his band played that night. 2 sets of music that night. it was marco's gig to begin with. they also had freddies b-day that night. neil left with his wife shortly after the candles were blown. he just wanted to say hi to freddy and honor his b-day and split. he was in town for a few rush gigs. he doesn't live far from burbank anyhow. the shit that flies around on the internet is funny. it's like the telephone game. you whisper phrase/word in one persons ear and by the time it gets to the 10th person in line it's a completely different word or phrase. NP doesn't have the status of lets say tom hanks. so a few drummers want to say how much they love his playing. that night there were no freaks at the two sets. just old people, married couples and a few middle aged guys. the guy who wrote about his experience meant no harm. i'm sure np says hi to people all the time. who knows how he was feeling that day. no big whoop.
  11. Neil is just another person on this planet. He's not a person you would bow down to. That is just a tad over the top. It would be nice to have a conversation with the guy if the situation presented itself. He's nobody's hero.
  12. On the Rush R30 DVD there is a shot of the guys running and walking to the van in Brazil. Neil was running and so was Alex. Geddy took his time and walked fast to the van and received a hat from one of the security guards.
