  1. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jul 30 2009, 08:41 AM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Jul 30 2009, 12:26 PM) Some of you are really scraping the bottom of the bowl for things to post about. This, then the KC and the Sunshine band post? Are you guys on drugs, FFS? Blame reani14. And it appears that this is typical. At this point I don't even blame reani14. He probably sits here laughing at all the people who take these threads so seriously.
  2. Most likely the greatest album of this decade.
  3. QUOTE (rotting @ Jul 29 2009, 05:23 AM) sounds cool, stupid question - Is it kid friendly? Im assuming so. It depends what you mean by "kid" 6 - 8? 10 - 12? It's nothing compared to the book though.
  4. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Jul 28 2009, 11:43 PM) Is this a serious question????????????? No...
  5. Well you won't have to worry about that because this definately isn't true.
  6. Nobody ever questioned the Dead's musicianship. They're obviously incredible musicians and each band has their advantages and like you said are both very different bands. Both very good in their own ways.
  7. David Bowie's "Life On Mars" is musical perfection.
  8. I think we should have a contest. Who could make the most threads in an hour time span: reani14 or RUSHEAD666
  9. QUOTE (reani14 @ Jul 27 2009, 08:04 PM) well, our boys never died. and come on graeful dead are no were near as cool live as our boys rush are. legecys or not... look at the snakes tour adn the test of time.. and neil and alex would wipe anyone in the dreadful dead. come on fans... stick with me on this one Quit f***ing with us or some people might start to take this thread seriously and get into an argument about who really is better. I think I remember something similar happening not too long ago. Oh and Jerry Garcia obviously destroys Neil Peart as a lyricist.
  10. QUOTE (Cowtothesky @ Jul 27 2009, 04:47 PM) QUOTE (goose @ Jul 25 2009, 12:27 AM) QUOTE (Mara @ Jul 24 2009, 12:24 PM) QUOTE (Fridge @ Jul 24 2009, 07:48 AM) This has the potential to be absolutely amazing or a pile of steaming dogs eggs.... I'm delighted that Tim Burton is directing as he is more likely to inject a certain gothic element which the original book was certainly intended to have. Yep, Disney was way far off! My only hesitation is that Burton can take that dark element too far. Yeah, Burton can take the goth thing to a boring, cliched extreme. Just saw Coraline, and thought he struck a nice balance there. Yea, Coraline was pretty good. I also thought Burton directed that. I didn't really dig the Nightmare before Christmas movie - too dark for me. This should be interesting. What's next? - Tim Burton's Wizard of Oz? To be honest, I wouldn't completely rule it out.
  11. Someones got it in for me, theyre planting stories in the press Whoever it is I wish theyd cut it out but when they will I can only guess. They say I shot a man named gray and took his wife to italy, She inherited a million bucks and when she died it came to me. I cant help it if Im lucky. People see me all the time and they just cant remember how to act Their minds are filled with big ideas, images and distorted facts. Even you, yesterday you had to ask me where it was at, I couldnt believe after all these years, you didnt know me better than that Sweet lady. Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your mouth, Blowing down the backroads headin south. Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth, Youre an idiot, babe. Its a wonder that you still know how to breathe. I ran into the fortune-teller, who said beware of lightning that might strike I havent known peace and quiet for so long I cant remember what its like. Theres a lone soldier on the cross, smoke pourin out of a boxcar door, You didnt know it, you didnt think it could be done, in the final end he won the wars After losin every battle. I woke up on the roadside, daydreamin bout the way things sometimes are Visions of your chestnut mare shoot through my head and are makin me see stars. You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies. One day youll be in the ditch, flies buzzin around your eyes, Blood on your saddle. Idiot wind, blowing through the flowers on your tomb, Blowing through the curtains in your room. Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth, Youre an idiot, babe. Its a wonder that you still know how to breathe. It was gravity which pulled us down and destiny which broke us apart You tamed the lion in my cage but it just wasnt enough to change my heart. Now everythings a little upside down, as a matter of fact the wheels have stopped, Whats good is bad, whats bad is good, youll find out when you reach the top Youre on the bottom. I noticed at the ceremony, your corrupt ways had finally made you blind I cant remember your face anymore, your mouth has changed, your eyes Dont look into mine. The priest wore black on the seventh day and sat stone-faced while the building Burned. I waited for you on the running boards, near the cypress trees, while the springtime Turned slowly into autumn. Idiot wind, blowing like a circle around my skull, From the grand coulee dam to the capitol. Idiot wind, blowing every time you move your teeth, Youre an idiot, babe. Its a wonder that you still know how to breathe. I cant feel you anymore, I cant even touch the books youve read Every time I crawl past your door, I been wishin I was somebody else instead. Down the highway, down the tracks, down the road to ecstasy, I followed you beneath the stars, hounded by your memory And all your ragin glory. I been double-crossed now for the very last time and now Im finally free, I kissed goodbye the howling beast on the borderline which separated you from me. Youll never know the hurt I suffered nor the pain I rise above, And Ill never know the same about you, your holiness or your kind of love, And it makes me feel so sorry. Idiot wind, blowing through the buttons of our coats, Blowing through the letters that we wrote. Idiot wind, blowing through the dust upon our shelves, Were idiots, babe. Its a wonder we can even feed ourselves. Wow..

  14. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Jul 26 2009, 08:34 AM) QUOTE (theworkingman @ Jul 26 2009, 11:32 AM) Do you think you could edit one in Jack? I could, but I'd consider it bad form to do it without Earl's and Launch's permission. Ah, I see. Okay, then take all the time you need.
  15. QUOTE (PhilCastro @ Jul 25 2009, 01:33 PM) It's not slower, just the way the sound chops up makes it sound slower... you can tell by looking at JP strumming... you don't hear all the notes he's strumming if you look at it... I'm sure it will sound fine live Yes. This.
  16. I don't think it sounds slower. It's the way I remember it on the album. Maybe i'm insane though.
  17. Are you really judging the whole song live based on a one minute clip of what is the slowest part of the ending with shit audio? That part sounds exactly like I remember it on the album and this coming from a guy who's been drooling all over the song ever since the album came out. Of course the entire ending isn't going to stay at that tempo. By the way, I'm thrilled that they're playing this even though I'm not catching them on Progressive Nation. The song must be great live.
  18. Terminator 2 is one of the greatest action films of all time. No contest.
  19. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Jul 25 2009, 01:15 AM) QUOTE (Slime @ Jul 25 2009, 12:06 AM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jul 25 2009, 02:26 PM) QUOTE (Slime @ Jul 20 2009, 11:51 PM) This has gone on for three pages? Say what you want about the Potter fans (like me!), the haters can get WAY more mileage out of a topic But SIRIUSly, at least the people here who have beef with HP have actually read them. I know TOO many people who go into tirades against HP without having actually read them. Worse yet, they say STUPID things like "Well I don't need to read them". If you wanna bash some of the stuff in the HP books, I'll JOIN you! That's right, I think there is plenty in the books to criticize. Know how I can criticize the books? That's right, I READ them! Let's RON with this topic for a bit, shall we? I didn't start criticizing that POS "Heavy Metal" movie until I actually sat through every unbearable minute of it. I was looking forward to it after hearing good things, but when I actually saw it, I wanted to cry blood. It was easily.....EASILY....the worst movie I've ever seen. It's only a step above the few minutes of the Star Wars Holiday special that I saw. Like the SWHS, Harry Potter's reputation seems to precede it, and too many people make up their minds without actually watching or reading. It really is a SEAMUS, though, when people start bashing the fans of HP. I hear the same thing as a video game player, but really it's everywhere in art. The feeling that some people have of "OMG YOU LIKE THAT??? LOL YOU SUK!!11one! U HAV N0 BRAIN!". I'd hope that people who have two digits in their age would be over this sort of thing, but I hear it all the time. NEVILLE forget, though, that it's all supposed to be fun! People just like different kinds of fun. What's wrong with that? As you can tell, I've been having a bit of fun with this post Heavy Metal is the worst movie you've ever seen? HAve you watched many movies man????? I hate to derail this thread (because of course this thread is SO productive and full of insight), but yes Heavy Metal is the worst movie I've EVER seen. I've seen plenty of movies, and know when I've watched a bad one. True, I haven't seen everything, but of those movies I have seen, it's EASILY the worst. Insight and productivity? What the hell do you bring to this Forum that is so insightful and intellectual? Absolutely nothing. When was the last time you even wrote a thread that was so interesting? The irony in this post is amazing.
