  2. QUOTE (Ghost of a Rider @ Jan 14 2011, 06:28 AM)Actually this one was used already. You may have missed it when browsing the archive but it's there on page 6. Can you put up another one? Ooops, sorry about that. Must have mentally blocked out that image when I was browsing the archive. Here's another one... http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii197/judasnicknack/silly-dog-with-toupee-funny.jpg

  9. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Oct 5 2010, 08:16 PM)While pot smokers at concerts usually don't bother me, I think its a little insulting to the band almost like their music isn't good enough sober With recent quotes like this, I don't think they find it insulting... on the contrary, I think they find it humorous. Alex in the documentary talking about playing Passage To Bangkok on the S&A tour... Alex: "And it is interesting how, when we played it on our last tour, how noticeable the atmosphere became." laughs Geddy: "We have one of the finest, most aeromatic audiences you'll ever find in Rock and Roll." smiles
  10. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1009/vela_lorenzi_c0.jpg Explanation: The plane of our Milky Way Galaxy runs through this complex and beautiful skyscape. At the northwestern edge of the constellation Vela (the Sails) the four frame mosaic is over 10 degrees wide, centered on the glowing filaments of the Vela Supernova Remnant, the expanding debris cloud from the death explosion of a massive star. Light from the supernova explosion that created the Vela remnant reached Earth about 11,000 years ago. In addition to the shocked filaments of glowing gas, the cosmic catastrophe also left behind an incredibly dense, rotating stellar core, the Vela Pulsar. Some 800 light-years distant, the Vela remnant is likely embedded in a larger and older supernova remnant, the Gum Nebula.
  11. Storm clouds over my neighborhood yesterday evening... http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/EveryNerveAware/RUSH/IMAG0039.jpg The clouds prepare for battle In the dark and brooding silence Bruised and sullen storm clouds Have the light of day obscured Looming low and ominous In twilight premature Thunder heads are rumbling In a distant overture...
  12. QUOTE (The Sphere @ Sep 8 2010, 10:21 AM)Hi Folks~ Just found out I am going to Tampa for the show on October 1st. Coming from S. Ontario, Canada and have never been to your fine city. Just wondering what other things we should take in while there, sights, restaurants, clubs, etc. "Facts show 5 out of 4 people don't understand fractions" There are a lot of fun things to do in Tampa during your visit. Busch Gardens amusement park Adventure Island waterpark Y'bor City historic district Channelside shops and restaurants Hard Rock Seminole casino and hotel (right next to the venue and where we're staying the night of the show) A good source for Tampa Bay info is: http://www.tbo.com Hope this helps
  13. Amazing. Talk about being at the right place at the right time! Thanks for sharing the pics. Especially love the one of Neil's trunk. "I hit things with sticks" and "More Cowbell" stickers are awesome!
  14. Thanks for posting. I remember when Rush played Tom Sawyer on Rock Band backstage at The Colbert Report. You guys weren't too good at playing your own song on a game system. Are you any better at Guitar Hero? [laughs] "No, I retired after that. I'm much better at the real thing."
  15. Morning Rushians! Bright, beautiful day in Tampa Bay. It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, A beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood, A neighborly day for a beauty. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... I've always wanted to have a neighbor just like you. I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you. So, let's make the most of this beautiful day. Since we're together we might as well say: Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor? Won't you please, Won't you please? Please won't you be my neighbor?
  16. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Aug 30 2010, 08:12 AM)Also of note in these photos is how many show Neil *smiling*. Yep, I noticed that too. That's a good thing.

  18. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1008/NGC1365_pugh900c.jpg Explanation: Barred spiral galaxy NGC 1365 is truly a majestic island universe some 200,000 light-years across. Located a mere 60 million light-years away toward the chemical constellation Fornax, NGC 1365 is a dominant member of the well-studied Fornax galaxy cluster. This impressively sharp color image shows intense star forming regions at the ends of the bar and along the spiral arms, and details of dust lanes cutting across the galaxy's bright core. At the core lies a supermassive black hole. Astronomers think NGC 1365's prominent bar plays a crucial role in the galaxy's evolution, drawing gas and dust into a star-forming maelstrom and ultimately feeding material into the central black hole.
  19. I searched and couldn't find where this had been posted before, apologies if this is a repeat. Good quality video of the intro video. These guys are hilarious!! Love Neil's line... "What a bunch of crap!" LOL
  20. I was at this show too... but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay farther back. Now I can finally see what was happening on the stage! I couldn't believe that everyone on the lawn was standing during the entire concert. Legs get a bit tired standing for 3 hours on an incline. Still was an awesome experience.
