  1. i don't take back what i said. i don't give a shit and think it's a horrible piece. they could do so much better or maybe they were running dry with ideas, and like i said i think it's neil lyrics that geddy has trouble with and he doesn't make it any easier gor ged. good day sir!
  2. QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jul 24 2012, 07:55 PM) Its has one of the best chorus' on the record and is very listenable. i'm sure it does just not to me. neil sometimes forgets that he's writing lyrics for a song not a book. can't blame ged for the wreckers. it's not something that's singer friendly or at least it doesn't sound that way to me where he could give it a nice signature geddy delivery.
  3. QUOTE (deathlikesilence @ Jul 24 2012, 04:51 PM) can't think of any reason why someone would want to hear tears played live with strings is the point of this thread songs you would like to hear with strings or songs you would like to hear on the upcoming tour in the setlist with strings? if it came down to picking one out of the 3 above, it would be tears. the others two are absolute sh*t.
  4. QUOTE (av450 @ Jul 24 2012, 06:04 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 24 2012, 04:47 PM) what did geddy and alex, who once graced the stage with double-necks and made hemispheres, xanadu, bytor etc....come up with a cheesy song like the wreckers? it's mind boggling. By-tor is about 2 dogs fighting- one from the underworld and one a prince. How is that not cheesy? it's not cheesy plus the way geddy sings it is great. i realize they are two different sounding songs, but bytor music absolutely slaughters the wreckers. i think the wreckers is partially neils fault for giving geddy long cheesy chorus lines. c'mon wary contrary? it's horrible dude.
  5. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jul 24 2012, 04:58 PM) It really drags i agree with this and also that it's painful to listen to. brings back bad memories the s & a tour and painfully hearing this.

  7. the two perfect songs for fan interaction is 2112 overture, dum dum dum dum dum dum hey! etc... and the spirit of radio with the clapping. lets leave it at that.
  8. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 24 2012, 04:01 PM) If Far Cry wasn't a massive hit no surprise there.
  9. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Jul 24 2012, 03:48 PM) Tears Nobodys Hero Faithless tears is the only one i would want to hear.
  10. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 24 2012, 03:11 PM) QUOTE (RUDT @ Jul 24 2012, 03:08 PM) I enjoy the Wreckers, i would have left out wish them well. I would have left them both off +1
  11. QUOTE (eshine @ Jul 24 2012, 02:49 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 24 2012, 12:05 PM) i'd be embarrassed if i heard it on the radio and would quickly change the station. embarressed? more like embarrassed for rush.
  12. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 24 2012, 02:53 PM) It sounds like a Foo Fighters song, the FF get played on the radio. sounds worse than foo fighters and i don't like foo fighters.
  13. what are the statistics for people who don't give a shit about statistics?
  14. just my opinion but i felt like they should have left this track off the record and play an instrumental instead and name it the wreckers. it just doesn't sound like it has that distinct rush label on it. incredibly mainstreamish with sappiness thrown in. i'd be embarrassed if i heard it on the radio and would quickly change the station.
  15. my greatest worry is that they overdo it with the orchestra and turn it into something similar to what metallica did.
  16. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Jul 23 2012, 05:21 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 23 2012, 02:52 PM) QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Jul 23 2012, 04:19 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jul 23 2012, 11:31 AM) older track accompanied by the orchestra? i hope it's something that had strings in it to begin with. Let's think... Losing It, violin solo... Power Windows; Manhattan Project has some orchestral work, so does Marathon towards the end... Hold Your Fire has some good tracks where synth can be replaced with strings... That's about it if I'm not mistaking, as far as "old" stuff goes. They seem to be running with this orchestra sh!t, so when it comes down to it, they just better choose wisely. i'll pass on the power windows stuff. What?!?! Manhattan Project and Marathon are awesome, and would be awesomer with live strings. no thanks.
  17. QUOTE (sdhonda @ Jul 23 2012, 09:33 PM) Chances are, they will be playing on at least half the songs throughout the entire show. let them on the stage for the new album parts, than give em' the hook.
  18. QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jul 23 2012, 05:04 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 23 2012, 10:06 AM) Don't listen to Al, i am still waiting for Jacobs Ladder that he said they were doing last time He's probably still catching shit for that. I bet we get it this tour. speaking for myself, you get tired of requesting songs for so long and being hung out to dry. at this point i don't give a sh*t.
  19. QUOTE (Tombstone Mountain @ Jul 23 2012, 02:49 PM) Thanks to Default236 pointing out that Geddy mentions in his latest interview that he will use an octaver during The Anarchist. So now we know of two songs fron Clockwork Angels that will be played live. Known Set List Carnies The Anarchist The Rest ??? so as of now we know they are going to play, the spirit of radio tom sawyer caravan bu2b the anarchist carnies far cry
  20. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Jul 18 2012, 10:51 AM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Jul 18 2012, 11:46 AM) Maybe what Neil is really telling us when he says "It is what it is" is to accept whatever Rush shovels to us. Fucksake. No. He's saying "We make the music we want to make, always have, always will. Take it or leave it." yea but we put money in their pockets.
