to get ready for the Habs-Pens series, I'm playing Kiss' "Tears are Falling" while watching a montage of Crosby dives and acting on YouTube. Go Habs!

Where's 1-0-0-1 been? Has he stopped drinking beer? Did he find any Capt Lawrence out there in Long Island? Inquiring minds want to know

QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Apr 26 2010, 09:32 AM) QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Apr 21 2010, 05:55 PM)Stone's Ruiniation is in my top 3 beers all-time. For me it's just the greatest combination of flavor, awesome citrus scents and hops, hops and more hops. Oh yeah, and alcohol...lots of booze in that bottle. Yes, precisely. I also think the alcohol is well-hidden. At 7.7%, its nicely masked under the citrus/grapefruit bite. I simply love how this ale smells right before it hits your face and punches you

Stone's Ruiniation is in my top 3 beers all-time. In fact, I'm wearing my "I'm bitter, and I love it" Stone shirt as I type this..lol. I tried the Dale's Pale Ale last week. Bottle King rated it at 100 - which surprised me a bit. I liked it as well, by I though 100 rating was off by a good amount IMO. I'm still seriously hung up on the Captain Lawrence DIPA. But I'm undergoing therapy for it. One 16.9 oz bottle at a time....

the GUBNA was yummy, but a bit too malty-sweet for me. Im more in favor of the bitter slap-yo-face over-hoppiness than the sweet pungent hops in over abundance. but i liked it, it was enjoyable. at 9.5abv, it isnt something id have more than two cans of. the whole can thing was weird for me too.

Just added Oskar Blue's GUBNA IPA to the stock, as well as Stone's Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.

Still trying to make sense of it all, as ever. I guess my hope with this season, as loosely rumored, were getting some answers. So to that end, I'm with Half-Forgotten - 10 episodes left and I'd question how many answers we've gotten that we can actually decipher. Frustrating, but at the same time, no different than its ever been. Still enjoying and looking forward to each episode. However, I feel some patience getting thin if some basic things dont start becoming clear regarding the fundamental questions (see "Top 100 things LOST better answer or we will all be pissed") - Do we think the creators/writers can answer all questions in the final few episodes?

QUOTE (Snowdog @ Mar 4 2010, 07:48 PM) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v428/snowdog2004/edmungfitz_bottleglass.jpg Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter Another of the BA top 100 I'm having for the first time and its great Snowdog - totally ironic that youre drinking this beer... Took my son to an IMAX movie today (IMAX 360 Dome) and the feature was "Mysteries of the Great lakes" - where they chronicled the plight of the Edmund Fitzgerald.... Amazing story (one of several about the great lakes). On a slightly different note, I had never been to an IMAX dome theater before....it was like a planetarium. Simply astonishing Oh, and I'm cracking a Noble Pils. -
QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Feb 23 2010, 03:57 PM) Entertainment Weekly has a web show called "Totally Lost" where these 2 guys recap the previous episode, and there is a huge Rush reference in Part 2. It's hilarious. Check it. Jacob's Ladder that sir, was awesome. Thanks! Huey Lewis? Come on guys

Theres a very cool product I borrowed from a friend this year that is actually a VHS unit that connects via USB to any computer (firewire also supported) and it has some simple to use software that captures the VHS and is capable of saving it as digital media in just about any format (avi, mov, mpeg, mp4, etc) I did this with a whole bunch of old home movies and stuff from my old analog camcorder. Its called ION EZ VHS Converter (http://www.amazon.com/ION-Audio-Video-Computer-Converter/dp/B0017PJ5FI)

welcome Kenneth - great to have another LOST fan on the board. As for the flashes (backward, forward, sideways..) just keep watching and I will recommend a great site to you but at the same time I will warn ou of its addictive and almost certain spoiler-esque qualities....read onl as much as you dare...backwards of course, but also forwards. But some simple advice: dont ruin it for yourself and dont read too much into any one man's opinion. We're all just here for the ride after all... The LOST Blog, Film Fodder Looking forward to sharing your thoughts and observations on a great show PTA

I'm really surprised by the Kovalchuk deal. Despite being an avid Devils fan, I didnt see this coming. But I really think Lamoriello is a genius as a GM. That said, I hope the curse of every other skilled scorer that comes to NJ doesnt befall Kovi. They take a scorer and force them to play in a defense-first scheme. I hope he is given the opportunity to do what he does best.

QUOTE (Snowdog @ Jan 31 2010, 02:04 PM)Scored a sixer of Bells Hopslam today. Got real lucky. Only one store in town got any and they only got 2 cases, so it was a 1 sixer limit and I got the 2nd to last one. the illusive Hopslam......totally jealous. I have a buddy in Ohio who regularly torments me (See attached) regarding Hopslam. How do you rate it, Snowdog? Like compared to your other comparable hoppy nectars?

QUOTE (Snowdog @ Jan 2 2010, 07:49 PM) QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Jan 2 2010, 07:03 PM) Today I went to the Captain Lawrence Brewery for a tour and tasting, up in Pleasantville, NY. It was awesome. Not only do they brew my new favorite beer (CL Reserve Imperial IPA) but I got to check out the brewing/hopping process and will be back in a week's time to pick up my 1/6th keg for the kegerator Also, picked up a case of their DIPA, a 64oz growler of their Freshchester Pale Ale, and a bottle of their Nor' Easter winter ale. It was cool to see so many locals stopping in with their growlers in travel cozies to pick up 64 oz of freshly brewed beer. While we were there we sampled their Smoked Porter, Espresso Stout, Brown Bird Ale, Liquid Gold and Pale Ale as well. All were outstanding. Just found my new favorite place, and it ended up being only 30 minutes away. Pass, thats great man! I've heard so many good things about Captain Lawrence (especially the IPA) but I guess their distribution is strictly in your neck of the woods. Hopefully they'll make it down here to Florida sooner rather than later. Enjoy it bud and have one for me, ok? snowdog, I'll gladly ship you two bottles if you PM me your address.

QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Dec 4 2009, 11:54 PM) QUOTE (PassTheAmmunition @ Dec 4 2009, 11:12 PM)Well, my new favorite beer is Captain Lawrence's Imperial IPA. I'm addicted to it, its that simple. Just ordered a case. In doing so, I happened to strike up a conversation with a really helpful guy @ Stew Leonard's who just happened to have a case (only a case for the store) of the highly coveted collaboration between Sierra Nevada & Dogfish..."Life & Limb". One bottle per customer so I got mine and I'm pretty excited about it. Thats self explanatory though since I'm posting a picture of it. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s114/jkr77/P1020115.jpg Nice! I'll be asking my beer guy about that and the Captain Lawrence on my next trip there. hey love the sig 1-0-0......how appropriate that the shot has the Islander's logo front and center on Neil's kit
