  1. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jun 30 2010, 02:03 AM) Just got back from the show. Wow. Maybe the best show by them I've seen (this was number 10 for me). The setlist seems wierd, but it really works. The first half did not drag at all. The films were hysterical. The new songs kicked major ass. The songs never played before also kicked ass. Excellent light show. They seemed to be having a lot of fun. The crowd seemed to have a lot of fun. Just wow. Cool, thanks for that! Some haters in this thread were desperately wanting to hear that the crowd hated the first set, and I'm glad they were proven wrong!
  2. Just scanned through this and saw that the haters were really working overtime to crap all over this thread, right in the middle of the song updates even. Congratulations, guys, was it good for you? I look forward to seeing this show in the flesh with actual fans, and not a bunch of internet complainers. Or "whiny little bitches" as someone said in another thread.
  3. QUOTE (By-Thor @ Jun 29 2010, 08:10 PM) While we wait I found this pic son RIAB alex at the keyboards! http://www.rush.com/roadpics/Time_Machine_...earsals.html#17 And he's playing a... spoiler PRS! Looks like a 305 with one humbucker and one single-coil!
  4. Doesn't Rush usually start around 7:45 if the ticket says 7:30? That would mean about half an hour to go. Man, that would be cool to be there.
  5. QUOTE (nappy2112 @ Jun 29 2010, 07:27 PM) How many hours are they behind us on EST ? It's about 6:38PM MDT in NM, and the show is scheduled for 7:30, so it should start in about one hour (7:45?).
  6. So what's the format? A song gets posted, followed by 40-50 posts of "sh!t, that sucks!" or "I'm selling my tickets, dammit!" ?
  7. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 29 2010, 07:01 PM) OK, here is my level of psychedness from 1 to 10 with 10 be very pumped. Great time killer. (Just about 1.5 hours to go.) I'll say: The Spirit of Radio 8 Time Stand Still 10 Stick It Out 7 Presto 10 Workin' Them Angels 8 Leave That Thing Alone 9 Faithless 10 Brought Up To Believe 10 Freewill 8 Marathon 10 Subdivisions 8 Tom Sawyer 8 Red Barchetta 8 YYZ 8 Limelight 8 The Camera Eye 10 Witch Hunt 10 Vital Signs 10 Caravan 10 Drum Solo 8 Acoustic Guitar Solo 8 Closer To The Heart 10 Overture/Temples of Syrinx 10 Far Cry 8 La Villa Strangiato 10 Working Man 9 I'm really looking forward to some of the staples they skipped last time: CTTH, 2112, LVS.
  8. QUOTE (third hand grace @ Jun 29 2010, 04:28 PM)Could you imagine the boys running backstage to change clothes from the different eras of their career? Yeah, why aren't they doing this? This is supposed to be the Time Machine Tour! I'm selling my tickets, dammit!
  9. QUOTE (GANRUSH2 @ Jun 29 2010, 06:30 PM) Next time the boys are sitting around the kitchen table discussing the setlist, they should please allow a fan in the room to knock some sense into the choices. For what it's worth, they're playing three of the top ten fan requests: http://www.rushpetition.com/results.shtml The Camera Eye 1934 37.8% Jacob's Ladder 1505 29.4% Hemispheres 1154 22.6% A Farewell To Kings 864 16.9% Fly By Night 754 14.8% Middletown Dreams 740 14.5% Marathon 699 13.7% Kid Gloves 628 12.3% The Weapon 552 10.8% Presto 541 10.6%

Workin' Them Angels 6. Leave That Thing Alone 7. Faithless 8. Brought Up To Believe (new) 9. Freewill 10. Marathon 11. Subdivisions intermission 12. Tom Sawyer 13. Red Barchetta 14. YYZ 15. 11. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 29 2010, 05:50 PM) well, faithless i'm not into the song at all. i think it's a terrible choice to play live. freewill, great upbeat sound, but damn it just needed to be let go to make room for something else. i've just grown tired of hearing it in the setlist. bu2b, not terribly bad song, but once again i'm not feeling it, and if it's true that they are playing all 3 of these songs in a row, whether you're religious or not, gimme a break. Okay, I thought you were boycotting them based just on the lyrics.
  12. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 29 2010, 04:23 PM)QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Jun 29 2010, 03:54 PM) you're gonna skip BU2B? i'll be mia for that one also. Hmm, will you also skip Freewill and 2112 (Ayn Rand influence)? I'm a big fan of Spock's Beard, but would not walk out on songs of theirs because I don't agree with the religous viewpoint. (Their original singer/songwriter Neal Morse is devoutly religous.) You may take a different view, of course. A good friend of mine is no longer a Rush fan, because the lyrics contradict his beliefs.
  13. Edited, not sure if spoilers are allowed here.
  14. QUOTE (The Gorsk @ Jun 29 2010, 09:20 AM) I hope the members of Rush don't ever look at these posts and say, why should we go out and play for these whiny little bitches.
  15. QUOTE (PariahDog @ Jun 29 2010, 01:07 PM)Remember the Rush Petition, where fans vote for songs they want to hear live? http://www.rushpetition.com/results.shtml It looks like Rush will be playing three of the top ten picks: The Camera Eye 1934 37.8% Jacob's Ladder 1505 29.4% Hemispheres 1154 22.6% A Farewell To Kings 864 16.9% Fly By Night 754 14.8% Middletown Dreams 740 14.5% Marathon 699 13.7% Kid Gloves 628 12.3% The Weapon 552 10.8% Presto 541 10.6% Sure, it would be nice to have a couple more of these instead of SIO and LTTA. But still, we're getting three of the top ten, including the #1 pick. But some fans are ready to sell their tickets because we're not getting #1 AND #2? EDIT: Just noticed that Faithless is also on the list (#27), surprisingly ahead of many that have been mentioned in this thread: Faithless 354 6.9% Cinderella Man 338 6.6% Chemistry 309 6.0% Grand Designs 308 6.0% The Fountain of Lamneth 289 5.7% Freeze 284 5.6% Everyday Glory 273 5.3% The Body Electric 269 5.3% Different Strings 263 5.1% Lock And Key 242 4.7% Turn The Page 240 4.7% Alien Shore 202 4.0% In The Mood 200 3.9% Scars 192 3.8% Maybe Rush knows what they're doing after all?
  16. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 29 2010, 01:10 PM) That is because Al said they were. If they do it, will be fanfuckingtastic. If not, 24 more threads on how much they suck . Only a few hrs now Maybe the lesson is, Rush should never talk about the setlist. I remember there was a similar meltdown when they talked about revamping the second leg of the S&A tour, but only swapped out two songs. But, seriously, I've never bought a concert ticket with the expectation or requirement of hearing a single song. Is this really just about JL, or were folks honestly expecting to hear Necromancer, Lamneth, AFTK, etc.?

  18. QUOTE (oldphilly @ Jun 28 2010, 07:41 PM) QUOTE (PariahDog @ Jun 28 2010, 05:59 PM) QUOTE (oldphilly @ Jun 28 2010, 05:49 PM)QUOTE (PariahDog @ Jun 28 2010, 05:03 PM) QUOTE (oldphilly @ Jun 28 2010, 05:01 PM) I may sell my ticket...ugh. need a ticket upgrade fanboi? No thanks, I've got great seats for LV and WA. Seriously, would you sell your ticket over 4-5 songs? Or do you hate the whole setlist? "...a blind man in the market, buying what is sold." You've got to be freaking kidding. If you're serious, have fun sitting this one out.
  19. QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Jun 28 2010, 07:20 PM) In the interest of keeping this thread from getting locked, I'm sorry I even replied to him. I just felt offended someone would say something like that. YOU should not be the one apologizing, IMO.
  20. QUOTE (tangy @ Jun 28 2010, 07:10 PM)Most groups of Rush's age would give you an opening act. I know I would rather hear one of my least favorite Rush songs than an opener act, so it all works out in the long run..... Excellent point! I just saw a classic metal band (name ommitted for spoilers) who is touring with an opening act AND only playing material from just their last two or three albums. The crowd seemed to be somewhat okay with it, though restless, but went crazy when they finally played THREE classic tunes in the encore. Can you imagine the apocalyptic meltdowns here on TRF if Rush ever had the gall to play just ONE set consisting of only their NEWER material.
  21. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jun 28 2010, 07:02 PM) Neil's lyrics go beyond atheism, to an utter disgust and hate towards religious people. Some specific examples/lines, please?
  22. QUOTE (Cygnus-x50 @ Jun 28 2010, 06:51 PM) One thing I just noticed is that this supposedly was heard from a rehearsal from June 27. That would mean that the roadies set up all of the stage equipment 2 days before the show, and then the band rehearsed that same day. That's why I was asking, are they doing another rehearsal tonight?
  23. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jun 28 2010, 06:45 PM) lol like I said, that seems to be the band's new theme. They might as well have called this the "Anti-Christ Tour" and had Neil put 666 all over his drumkit. Uh, there's a big difference between atheism and Satanism.
