  1. Great tune containing my favorite Alex solo. Yeah, bring it back
  2. So now Ronnie know the truth about Terry Crowley How will that change things between him and Vic? The tension building between Shane and Vic will most certainly have deadly consequences for one of them. I will say with Lem gone and Shane essentially gone from the Strike team, I think the show is missing a key dynamic. Things are not the same with Hiatt and Julien as members of the Strike team and Lem and Shane gone. A big part of the show was the bond the 4 team members shared, even with the secrets kept from each other. I really, really miss Lem...
  3. I'm with you guys. This season started off very strong but I had problems with several things as the season progressed. Overall, I don't think it was the worst season (that was season 2 for me) but certainly not the best. I did notice a few times this season Jack would ask how far out the Tac teams were and it was 10 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. but somehow Jack could always get to where he needed to go in 5 minutes or less
  4. Are all the rules out the window now??? Possible spoiler below for you folks who haven't seen this weeks episode: I thought the family members of the guys were strictly off limits. I would think that Phil would understand Tony's actions. Unless he doesn't know what happened or just doesn't care. Is Phil playing by his own set of rules? I see a big showdown between Tony and Phil coming up.

C'mon Pags!!! You mean to tell me I'm posting about last nights episode before you The Medellin saga continues....
  6. The way "it" happened, was so.....unSoprano-like edit: I was watching Fox News this afternoon before watching Sopranos on TiVo, when Shep Smith blurted "it" out because some idiot sent him an email that he read on the air (no proof reading I guess, he was reading live). Even Shep was pissed, 'cause he said he Tivo'd the episode and hadn't seen it yet. He was so mad, he gave out the guys full name and home town Very Soprano type move by Shep.

I am now officially all caught up. I have watched every episode starting with season 1 up to last week's episode in a span of 3 weeks. I had never really used the HBO on demand, but it came in handy with the new season. Now, the DVR is set to keep right on recording Sunday nights after The Sopranos so I can keep up to date Looks like Vince is teaming back up with Ari. Makes for a better show, imo.

QUOTE (paganoman @ May 10 2007, 05:01 PM) One final word on this matter... LLOYD! That guy steals quite a few scenes. One of my fave moments so far: The brawl with Seth Greene's posse cracked me up It was four good friends all saying together, "Enough of this crap, its go time" I enjoy the loyalty and camaraderie these guys have for each other.
  9. QUOTE (prog.fusion @ May 10 2007, 05:42 PM) this weeks show......#6 i think? where, spoiler................................. Vic finds out Shane killed Lem, was amazing. the last scene was one of the best things i've seen on The Shield and the whole episode makes any other drama look like a comedy. one of the best episodes of TS ever. can't wait for next weeks. I agree. The way Vic handled the whole situation completely shocked me. Vic has never really shown restraint and you wouldn't think in the wake of an admission like Shane's he would show any. Another brilliant turn from an absolutely brilliant show. I must admit, I've been waiting for Shane to get whats coming to him and when Vic didn't administer immediate, deadly justice, I was disappointed and angry. But after I thought about it, I realized that it was sheer brilliance. edit: This past episode was yet another example of why Vic Mackie is the most compelling anti-hero television has ever seen. Michael Chiklis is an amazing actor.

OK, Pags, based on your recommendation, over the past few weeks, I have rented the first 3 seasons on DVD. It took me a few shows to warm up to it, but I have to say, I really enjoy it. "E" is probably the character I relate to the most, but Turtle makes me laugh Drama is just one problem after another for the guys. Ari is just a loose cannon with no moral compass, although the latest eps I've caught on HBO on demand from this season show that changing a bit. I only have 2 more eps to watch and I'm totally up to date with this season. Thanks for the recommendation, Pags
  11. Loved the book, thought the movie was decent, but not nearly as enjoyable as the book.
  12. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ May 7 2007, 07:10 PM) Except for the idiots who brought an 18 month old and sat behind us. AND, the kid PUKED everywhere right in the middle of the climactic last few scenes. Did the parents take the poor tot out? Oh, hell no! They might miss part of the movie! Oy. The lack of movie etiquette these days is an extremely sore subject with me. It has gotten so bad, I rarely go to the movies at all because I know I will only end up getting angry at someone else's rudeness spoiling my experience. Listen up! Babies have no business being in a movie theater unless it is a kiddie movie. I don't pay 10 bucks to listen to your kid cry (or smell his puke in GG's case). Turn your phone OFF!!!!! Or at least on vibrate. And if you do get a call, go outside and take it. Again, I didn't pay 10 bucks to listen to your phone conversation. I understand a call from the sitter may be necessary to take, answer it quietly and excuse yourself outside the theater before continuing the conversation. And please keep the kiddos that are present from kicking the back of my seat! Thank you
  13. Is Christopher losing it??? 4 eps left, Christopher is going off the deep end. Could he be the downfall of them all?
  14. QUOTE (willowroolz @ May 4 2007, 05:04 AM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ May 3 2007, 08:00 PM) Ronnie-grow the beard back man!!! You don't look like the same guy and it takes an edge of toughness off of you. I liked the continuity with his scars, though Mrs. Snowdog picked up on that immediately. Nice attention to detail there! Julien as part of the Strike Team??? Will he be a problem or will he dive head on into the Strike Team philosophy and become a complete bad @ss?
  15. Shane did confess...to his wife at the end of the show and it certainly looks like from the previews that Vic is putting the pieces together. We could see another cop on cop killing soon. I will say I was glad to see Shane get his butt kicked over the Tillie thing. Heck, he has deserved several beatings over the years for many things and always seems to weasel his way out of them. And now he appears to be losing his wife and kids to boot... Ronnie-grow the beard back man!!! You don't look like the same guy and it takes an edge of toughness off of you. Vic is going to erupt soon and its not going to be pretty.
  16. Vic is finally starting to lose it. The new character, Kevin Hiatt, will be no match for Vic, though The preview for next week was shocking. It seems Shane finally confesses, but that can't be, can it?
  17. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Apr 24 2007, 11:57 AM) QUOTE (vital signz @ Apr 24 2007, 10:37 AM) I was a bit disappointed with last night's episode....anyone else agree??? Yes, I seem to be more and more disappointed as each week goes by. I'll add my vote. This season started off strong, but has tailed off badly. I wish the writers would think a little bit. All fans of the show know that Keifer has signed on for a couple of more seasons, so the whole "I'm going to blow myself up to save Audrey" was poorly thought out. And trying to emphasize relationships (Hayes & Buchanan, Bauer/Raines, Chloe/Morris) is really off target. The engine of the show is action and danger, not emotion. Dance with the one that brought ya, I say. I used to watch it every Monday night because I couldn't wait. Now I let TiVo do the work and watch it on Tuesday.
  18. QUOTE (willowroolz @ Apr 19 2007, 04:40 AM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Apr 18 2007, 11:47 PM)Another great ep! Vic finally got his hands on Guardo and it wasn't pretty That was one of the most brutal scenes I've seen on tv, with the chain Vic is starting to notice that Shane is acting out of character. It can only be a matter of time before the truth comes out (although my guess is that it will be towards the end of the season). LMAO at Dutch getting psycho-analysed by Billings and then going to Claudette for affirmation Billings is such a putz. Why would Dutch let anything that idiot says bother him? My guess is the last minute of the season finale will involve Shane copping to Lem's murder and Vic staring at him in disbelief. The end. And we'll have to wait month's to know the outcome
  19. Another great ep! Vic finally got his hands on Guardo and it wasn't pretty Shane's guilt is killing him. Will he finally break??? Ronnie showed Dutch and Billings what being a real cop is all about. But no mention of Kavanaugh at all? C'mon we've been waiting for two seasons for this guy to get his. He finally gets the cuffs slapped on him and then he's forgotten about? Hopefully, they will revisit this in future episodes. Still, the best show on television.
  20. I agree with the sentiments on Leo, he has become a very good actor. I think Wahlberg has really come into his own as an actor too. Two great performances. And of course, Nicholson is always good. I didn't see that ending coming
  21. QUOTE (ladirushfan80 @ Apr 14 2007, 01:54 PM) i KNEW Audrey would rise from the dead!!!!! I thought she would, but it wouldn't happen until the last couple of episodes, setting up next season as Jack's search for Audrey. Maybe that will still happen. I was surprised that they seemed to have resolved the bomb issue so soon. I keep thinking that this is not the end of the bomb storyline. I don't recall them ever wrapping something up so simply. I think there have to be a few more twists and turns to it.
  22. QUOTE (willowroolz @ Apr 11 2007, 07:07 AM) Don't you remember that? It was when Shane and Lem were tailing one of their suspects and the guy had an accident. He got out of the car and came back to ask Shane to be a witness, so he had to give a name, and that was what he came up with Ah yes, now that you've jogged my memory Just watched episode 2. Another great episode! Never thought I'd see Claudette pull Vic's butt out of the fire. WTG, Claudette. Vic is seriously torn up emotionally and has Guardo clouding his judgement. That could prove to be a potential problem. I love how Shane is trying to be the voice of reason now, telling Vic to chill out. The previews of next weeks show tease us with a possible confession by Shane, but that ain't gonna happen
  23. QUOTE (anagramking @ Apr 9 2007, 07:51 PM) One thing I noticed was that Tony seemed to feel that he looked bad in front of his own wife because he lost the fight. He even brought up a fight he lost back in high school. Tony's not going to let this die. The potential for the witness protection program for Bobby is an interesting insight. Think of how he had to do some of the more mundane tasks over the years, and how he resented it. And the run in he had with Paulie at the carnival, also. With the friction between Tony and Christopher, I see something bad happening there. Also with Bobby and Tony, as you guys said. Something tells me this show is going to go out with a bang. Or two. Or three...
  24. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Apr 10 2007, 12:20 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 9 2007, 08:22 PM) This ep is kicking ass! Loved it! Best one in a while. Agreed! Best line in the show: Jack to Fayed: "Say hello to your brother."
  25. QUOTE (willowroolz @ Apr 10 2007, 09:10 AM) The Shield is pretty much my favourite show. It's been amazing from the start. I watched episode 6x01 a few days ago. Wow, is all I can say. The end of the previous season was so heartbreaking, they've really picked up where they left off Shane (aka Cletus Van Damme ) has always been my favourite character. Bless him. His heart's in the right place but he never, ever gets it right, does he? I used to like Dutch until the scene with the cat The end of last season was unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I had just seen. I was so mad I have never had that type of reaction to a TV show before. I was mad for days! Heck, I'm still mad. And this season started with a bang. Kavanaugh is showing what a desperate man he is and it will wind up and bite him. Best line in the show: Vic to Kavanaugh:"You say I'm a cop killer? You're a cop right?" Runner up, another line from Vic to Kavanaugh:"You've just stepped on to an entirely new playing field and I hope you know the rules." Episode 2 coming up tonight edit: Cletus Van Damme? That is genius Willowroolz!
