  3. Dear guys, (you know who you are!) For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to your words and music. You speak and play words that have always made clear sense to me, and I have never wavered from the fact that you are the best. As a product of the 80's, you made the most unreal music...from very dark during the cold war years, to light and fast...and it just seemed like you and I were always on the same page...and I could count on you to make music at just the right time depending on what was happening in life... It had been 3 years since Counterparts...in that 3 years, my life came totally unscrewed and I was in the worst shape of my fairly early life. My only thoughts then were how best to get off this rock and end my misery and suffering...I didn't figure life was worth living anymore, and no matter how hard I tried, I just figured it was better to end it all and stop this constant suffering. And then RIGHT OUT OF THE BLUE...after 3 years...I heard that you were having an interview on Rockline to announce a new album, and you were going to play a few songs from it and tell us all about it. for the next 3 weeks, instead of wallowing in my pitty and misery, I suddenly had something to go for...I had Rush on Rockline, and they were going to tell their fans about a new album... I worked, played and just went on with life...but always in the back of my mind was "Rush has one coming out...what great timing!" I sat by my radio...waiting for 8pm...Then Rockline came on...Geddy talked, Alex talked...Then the announcer said..."We'd like to play the 2nd song from the new Rush album Test for Echo...this is Driven...." Alex's guitar ripped in...Geddy came in seconds later...then Neil...moments later, the strumming of strings and back to the power again... I was standing the middle of my new apartment where I had suffered for months and months in loneliness and was smiling from ear to ear... From then on, it was wait for the album to come out, and then the tour that played all of 2112 for us....and before I knew it, I was happy again... I know you are a band, and you make music when you do...you don't know me, and probably never will, but I have to tell you this...you stepped little over 11 years ago at just the right time... Thanks guys...thanks for all the years of music, and thanks to you for the release of Test for Echo on September 10th, 1996...I'll never forget it... You can fight Without ever winning But never ever win Without a fight

  6. Dear ***** You stole 900 dollars from your own kids college savings accounts to feed your gambling and drinking lifestyle. Please put 500 back into her account. She's a senior, works 30 hours a week, has a 3.9 GPA, and you are stealing her money. She works twice as hard as you do for 1/10th the pay... Please put 400 back into his account. He's 15 years old, and worked HARD doing jobs you would never consider doing all summer to save up his money for a motorcycle...he busted his ass mowing yards in the heat all summer and you took his money to stand in an air conditioned casino...he's the most honest kid I've ever met, and you steal his money...how do you sleep at night? These are my wife's kids...these are your kids...and are taking money out to use at a CRAPS table you stupid S**T. I suddenly have ZERO desire to ever hear you say "I need more money for child support because I can't afford to pay my bills". SELL ONE OF YOUR MOTORCYCLES YOU STUPID F******. If I don't see 500 and 400 in those accounts tomorrow by 5pm, it's over. You will never see another nickel from me again...I'll make sure they have money for college on my side, you worthless waste of oxygen... Thank you to the great members of TRF for listening!
  7. QUOTE (Sabs89 @ Sep 27 2007, 06:43 AM) QUOTE (VagabondUZ @ Sep 26 2007, 10:45 PM) I love it when the synth starts kicking in in Middletown Dreams, right after "brilliant shooting star" Give me goosebumps every time Second that totally! I also like the start of The Weapon...something about that works for me!
  8. I've never really liked Rush much...
  9. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 13 2007, 09:13 PM) AFTK here
  10. QUOTE (nebbish @ Sep 14 2007, 08:19 AM) wild hogs....with tim allen john travolta etc......what a pile of dung! I really wasted 2 hours of my life on this movie...I agree with you!
  11. I finally saw this...and I liked it quite a bit actually! I did also enjoy a nice Tom Sawyer break in there! I don't want to give up too much of the movie, so if you don't want to know about anything, don't scan down much more. I'll just say it was well worth the money! Spoiler Warning # # ## ## ## ## ## ## # ##### Spoiler Below I wasn't crazy about how they portrayed the Meyers family as trailer trash losers. However, I can see where he was going with it. I did really like how he set it up and showed his early years and the things he did. Also, I noted that one minute he's eating candy corn, then the next he's offing his entire family...very exciting!
  12. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Sep 1 2007, 01:10 PM) QUOTE (Dread Pirate Robert @ Aug 31 2007, 04:04 PM) I am shocked at the number of people here who consider Red Dawn to be a good movie. It was awful. For once I agree with you. You're still wrong on everything else, though. Can you just feel the love in this post????
  13. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 31 2007, 08:39 PM) It's not even close to being the worst of all time BUT I think THE MATRIX series is the most overrated thing out there. I only saw the first 2 so I can't comment on the 3rd. But I fell asleep in both because I thought they were that boring. Sure, Keanu Reeves can look cool but it's still Keanu Reeves being the crappy actor that he is. Do yourself a favor and don't even waste 2 hours of your life on Pt. 3 of the Matrix...it really...really sucked... You could spend the time at the dentist and it would be less painful...

    Fletch

Fletch Fletch Lives had it's good moments also...I watch either one anytime it's on!
  15. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 30 2007, 06:05 AM) There are a bunch of cheesy moments in this one. Examples: "WOLVERINES!!!!!" Charlie Sheen: "What's the difference Jed between us and them?!" Pat Swayze: "Because...we live here!!!" CHEESE!!!!!!!! But despite these cornball lines, I can still enjoy it to some extent. You are right...that line is cheese...but I'll tell you what, the first time I saw this movie, when he said "Because we live here!!!" I'm thinking..."You tell em' Patrick...now off that commie" Ah the cold war era...
  16. What a great flick! Bill Murry kills me!!!
  17. Loved Men at Work!!!! I like Sheen in all his movies actually...the Top Gun spinoffs are all funny! (Love Two and a Half Men also...not to get off the movie theme)
  18. I like Tears...always have! I vote for Lessons to go!
  19. I get a feeling that a little counseling will not help here....
  20. The video shows my reasoning when I say to my kids... "Please do not stand so close to the curb...."
  21. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Aug 26 2007, 03:24 PM) QUOTE (JDL2112 @ Aug 26 2007, 04:51 PM) I'm going to give him 2 thumbs up for The Color of Money and I really enjoyed A Few Good Men...but it's hard to not like a movie with Jack in it...IMO... I've lost interest in him since he ruined Oprah's furniture... And now there's a new buzz phrase called "jump the couch". It's kinda like "jump the shark". It means it's the point when a celebrity starts acting a little bizarre or crazy. Paula Abdul recently "jumped the couch" I believe. I recall it now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27d5yDAG48M...related&search= in another language...but nice sound effects!
  22. that was unreal...she flipped that car like it was in a movie!
