  1. Thoughts about this prog supergroup? I have SMPT:e. I kinda have mixed feelings about the album. Should I buy Bridge Across Forever?
  2. QUOTE (tick @ Mar 28 2008, 07:17 AM)QUOTE (deadwing2112 @ Mar 27 2008, 07:45 PM) I love ACOS. But some of the lyrics just really, really suck. Ya cant say something nice without throwing in something negative ? I have no problem with the lyrics in the song. Why dont you quote me the sucky lyrics so i know of which you speak. I'll always remember The chill of November The news of the fall The sounds in the hall The clock on the wall ticking away I just don't like those lyrics. I feel they could have been written better. And

  7. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Feb 17 2008, 09:20 AM) See, I think this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWd2QQTGJs0 and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2dYicFvLac are their best songs. They were more post-hardcore back then. I don't like this type of stuff though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y96koKa2PSE Heard the term artistic growth?
  8. Three Friends by Gentle Giant came in the mail today. I'm on my second spin already. I love it.
  9. QUOTE (Rush! @ Feb 1 2008, 11:28 AM) I'm pissed that I didn't get the cover version of "Candy and a Currant Bun." I mean, I did get a bonus DVD with "Cygnus....Vismund....Cygnus" and haven't watched it yet, but I'd really love to hear TMV cover a Syd-era Floyd song... I just got my copy and the dvd doesn't work in my dvd player or the xbox 360. And I think the cover you can get on The Mars Volta website.
  10. We watched this movie in english class this week, and words can't describe it. This has got to be by far the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. I don't know how you can have a book as great as Fahrenheit and make a movie the complete opposite, just pure garbage. At least the jetpack scene was slightly entertaining. .5/10
  11. I saw it yesterday and thought it was awesome. My brother was pissed that they didn't answer any questions, but that was the whole damn point of the movie!. I hope there isn't a Cloverfield 2. One thing I did notice about the movie, was during some parts their was the time and date at the bottom left side of the screen, and some parts it was gone. Just to make the progression of time faster then it actually was.
  12. I'm not too excited about Dairy of the Dead even though the original Dawn of the Dead is probably my favorite horror movie. Diary looks just like a repeat Land of the Dead.
  13. QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Jan 9 2008, 06:16 AM) QUOTE (deadwing2112 @ Jan 9 2008, 03:08 AM) QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Jan 8 2008, 05:53 PM) In terms of actually bad singers; Kele Okerele of Bloc Party, David Bowie and Lemmy come to mind. But they're bad singers that I like. In terms of my least favourites; The guy from Kings of Leon, Claudio Sanchez and all those screamo types/ Besides the fact that Claudio doesn't scream. I never said he did Go read it again, I said Claudio Sanchez AND all those screamo types. If I'd have been saying Claudio Sanchez screamed, I would have said; Claudio Sanchez and all the other screamo types. If only people would read what people write Sorry man, read it wrong.
  14. QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jan 15 2008, 07:52 PM) Gentle Giant - Free Hand Kamelot - The Black Halo Rivers Cuomo - Alone Free Hand is a great cd.

  16. QUOTE (Finbar @ Jan 4 2008, 02:15 AM) QUOTE (deadwing2112 @ Dec 26 2007, 04:41 PM) Does anyone like Systematic Chaos? It f***ing kicks ass. Just as solid as Awake (my favourite) and nearly as classic. Awake is now my favorite also. That album flows so great as a whole. It could have done without Lifting Shadows Off A Dream.
  17. QUOTE (J0N @ Dec 27 2007, 03:44 PM) I really like them, and I think I only know 1 other person that likes them :$ Not sure why everyone hates them, or why I like them for that matter, but its just the way it is. Rush are one of their main influences, whether they sound like them or not. They have fairly complex lyrics because all their songs are written about a story that Claudio Sanchez wrote. They're kinda prog rock/metal as well, I guess. They wrote a song called 2113 which isn't really anything like 2112, but is good all the same I think 2113 and 2112 is just a major coincidence, because during the song 2113 "Time Consumer," another Coheed song is reprised. So it is just part of The Amory Wars story.
  18. QUOTE (Mustard Death @ Dec 30 2007, 12:36 AM) QUOTE (J0N @ Dec 27 2007, 04:44 PM) Rush are one of their main influences, whether they sound like them or not. I seem to remember Claudio Sanchez saying he had never heard Rush until people compared his band to them. Anyways, I think No World For Tomorrow is really lameeee... I used to be into their old stuff a lot though. Not so much anymore. Yah, the band has never cited Rush as a influence. I still to this day don't think they sound like Rush. But Coheed may still go down as one of my favorite bands. To me, almost everything they did has been flawless. Mustard you should give No World For Tomorrow another listen, especially Feathers.
  19. Just bought today: The Prize Fighter Inferno - My Brother's Blood Machine Just ordered: Rush - A Show Of Hands Gentle Giant - Octopus
  20. Coheed and Cambria - Live At The Starland Ballroom Sublime - Sublime And for Christmas: Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade
  21. I liked I Am Legend. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the vampires.
