There are some recent gems, 'tis true. I think it is unfair to say that "all modern episdoes suck" since people have been saying that for at least eight seasons now. I just HOPE that the movie is more than just a three hour episode of the show. There needs to be something DRASTIC in there (ie character death, aging of kid characters) for it to be anything else. It would be great if the movie was (as rumoured) the last episode, because you know that you're going to see it whether or not you've liked the last few seasons. Everybody who's EVER seen the show is going to see this movie. It'll probably be one of the best selling movies of all time, even. I certainly hope it would beat out Titanic ( ).

Pretty neat. Are they going to improve the quality of animation for the movie or will it be just like looking at a longer episode of the show?

I just saw a clip of a Family Guy episode where Brian gets out the Banana suit and does the "peanut butter jelly" routine. I honestly lost about fifty points of respect for FG that night, and it will never come back. The other FG episodes laden with references at the expense of original jokes were forgiveable, but with that clip i think FG just jumped the shark. Unless I'm horribly mistaken and they somehow invented that routine, but I doubt it. www.jumptheshark.com if you need an explanation. Pretty cool website that features pretty much every show you could think of from American television. Share your shark jumping moments here!

So remakes is kicking the tar out of all the other choices. Pretty much as I expected. Nobody would dare do a remake of Gilligan's Island, thankfully. I'm pretty sure it is too ingrained into the national consciousness for anybody to accept other actors in those roles. That's the problem with remakes. The role, whatever it is, was made BY a certain actor at a certain period in time. You just can't recreate a character like Gabe Kotter (though Ice Cube is trying...check Rotten Tomatoes) if you aren't Gabriel Kaplan. *sigh*

I recently saw a trailer for Clerks 2.... WHY??????????? I swear it will cheapen the legacy of Clerks. I haven't seen the first, but I know how popular it is with many people. Movies like that don't NEED sequels.
