  1. QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Oct 19 2004, 01:42 AM)One of my favs. Just a great all around movie. That Thing You Do The movie is on right now on Cinemax. Sure enough - have to watch it. And OMG how I love Faye.
  2. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Oct 25 2004, 05:34 PM) If the actress you are thinking of is Helen Hunt then the film is "Rollercoaster" You know.... as soon as I saw your name as responding to the post.... I knew you'd be right. Good man!! Yer up!!
  3. QUOTE (1974 FAN @ Oct 25 2004, 02:03 PM)How funny is "If you could just move yours, I could get working on my own"? The song says a lot! That is probably my favorite lyric from the entire CD.
  4. QUOTE (Delilah @ Oct 25 2004, 12:20 PM)paganoman, we can't be held responsible for anything we do while watching Neil in action!! Btw, I checked out your halloween site... it's very cool. Please visit mine and scoop some awards, if you like. Delilah's Lair Delilah Too funny!! Ok I get it. Neil = uncontrollable reactions from the ladies. and thanks about the website. I have no idea what I'm doing with websites - decided to try and teach myself by building a Halloween site since it's in season. I like yours too - lots of cool graphics. I will have to spend some more time on it later.
  5. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Oct 25 2004, 11:37 AM) I've tried this one elsewhere and no-one's managed to get it yet so I'll see how you lot do. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/Jimyyz2112/Rush/36446082.png It's got wires that vibrate and give music.... 2112?
  6. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 25 2004, 11:13 AM)QUOTE (Delilah @ Oct 25 2004, 12:43 AM) Neil's solo was a feast for the ears and eyes... Oh, it sure was... <sigh....> Easy now girls. C'mon deep breaths. In... now out. Good.
  7. Oh -- if only this Thread was 10 years ago when I was buying CDs by the dozen. Now... Marriage, mortage, 3 kids in school, and all the bills that come with it. I'm trying to remember the last CD I bought for myself. I can't.
  8. Is it "The Cop" - Starring James Woods?
  9. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Oct 22 2004, 03:41 PM)VT. My first Rush tour and show (front row) for me. I had only been a fan maybe 2 years before the concert, but I already knew they were my favorite and that spot would never change. I dont there will be any tour to follow, even if they play every song they have recorded, that will bump the VT for me. Highlights included (was unspoiled for the show): Earthshine, Between Sun and Moon, Vital Signs, Natural Science, La Villa Strangiato, By-Tor and the Snowdog You're lucky. You got to see Between Sun And Moon. Both times I caught the show it was late in the tour, and they had flipped from BS&M and Ceiling Unlimited to The Trees and Ghost Rider. BS&M and CU must have played great live. NICE.
  10. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Oct 22 2004, 03:23 PM) the R30 opening. That did it for me, too. The overture was outrageous.
  11. R30. Because the guys improve with age. I don't know how they do it... but they do. This is the 5th consecutive tour I've seen. The music is stronger, the vocals kick my ass, the video and lighting always improves, and the sound is perfect. This is a good topic - I can't wait to see what folks contribute to this. Good one!!
  12. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Oct 22 2004, 10:31 AM) Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? You guys need hints? There's a couple in the quote already. The Rookie?
  13. Aw c'mon folks... won't anyone give it a whack? No hints until I see some guesses.
  14. A duck's quack has virtually no echo.
  15. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 21 2004, 12:56 PM) QUOTE (BSG @ Oct 21 2004, 06:36 PM) QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 21 2004, 01:01 PM) How about "Freeze" "Coiled for the spring, or caught like a creature in the headlights" Excellent job, Madra! I really expected this one to last longer. You're up! Thanx BSG - Be back later this evening with a pic. I'm just leaving work and have to head to choir practice!!!! WOW - that IS impressive. Well done.
  16. QUOTE (TexasRushfan @ Oct 19 2004, 08:34 PM) QUOTE (Snowdog @ Sep 12 2004, 04:35 PM) Hemispheres, but thats right now. Ask me again in a month. Interesting to note: as of this time there are no votes for a post-MP album. Vapor Trails is right up there with the Rest of them to me! Agreed. There seems to be different 'eras' of the band's sound. After 30 years... of course. For me... I became addicted to them in 1991 with Roll The Bones. Sure, I liked some of their stuff prior to that, but here is where I just went crazy for them. So, I had almost 20 years of material at my fingertips. For me there are no eras -- it's all Rush. Counterparts can play right along side of Fly By Night - it's Rush. Between The Wheels can play just before I throw on Circumstances. Awesome!!
  17. QUOTE (Sweetmiracle @ Oct 20 2004, 06:04 PM) QUOTE (paganoman @ Oct 20 2004, 01:45 PM) You said it. I have three girls. My oldest is just about 8, and 5 year old twins. They are getting into Daddy's obsession with Rush lately. I'm hoping they let it absorb, and I have them standing with me at future shows. A quick story why my oldest is destined to be a lifelong fan (I hope). When my wife was pregnant, two things would make the baby move so much it would cause my wife to get weak and almost sick. My voice ( ) and the song Fly By Night. Go figure. She would have to leave the room, and actually it came on once at a store we were shopping in. She had to run out of the store before she threw up!! LOL And you DARE laugh about this!!!!! HAHA. I only laugh because she does too . (so I'm allowed) whew.
  18. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 20 2004, 02:19 PM) Ooooh, this sounds good. I love a good scary movie. Thanks, paganoman Thanks GG. I truly hope you do watch it. Turn the lights down, grab the popcorn, turn up the volume a bit, and grab onto something... or someone. If anyone does watch it.... I hope they return to this thread and say what they thought of it.
  19. If you like creepy ghost stories..... you must catch "The Changeling". http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0783116926.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg When a recent widower (the wonderfully overemphatic George C. Scott ) moves into an antique Washington mansion, his realization that he may not be the only resident leads him toward a deadly secret that refuses to remain buried....The best haunted-house film since the legendary Haunting, this potent, classy combination of the mystery and horror genres eschews explicit gore and dumb shocks in exchange for a subtle creepiness that occasionally builds to a terrifying peak (watch out for that seance scene!). The result is a satisfyingly intelligent horror film with an intriguing dash of Watergate-era paranoia. Director Peter Medak went on to direct the considerably more gratuitous and somewhat less effective Romeo Is Bleeding and The Krays. --Andrew Wright No blood, very little special effects, not a "horror" movie. Just a good haunting and ghost story/mystery. I MADE my wife watch it. I still get punched. But even she'll admit - it's awesome.
  20. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Oct 19 2004, 04:02 PM) I've never seen that...guess I should, with two glowing recommendations such as these. That is such an awesome movie (That Thing You Do). Anytime we flip around and it's on.... it stays on.
  21. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 8 2004, 06:06 PM) QUOTE (Moonraker @ Oct 8 2004, 11:47 PM) I see your comp on the top screen is of TRF, kids reading something Pheonix is posting, lol. Hopefully in 2 years, you can give em the next book in the series, Amen brother. Hopefully Rush will play Ireland and the kids can buy their own programme. One of the nicest things I saw in Birmingham was a guy in his 40s and a teenage kid who was obviously his son, both wearing Rush shirts. Hopefully I'll get to do that some day. You said it. I have three girls. My oldest is just about 8, and 5 year old twins. They are getting into Daddy's obsession with Rush lately. I'm hoping they let it absorb, and I have them standing with me at future shows. A quick story why my oldest is destined to be a lifelong fan (I hope). 22. If I could be so honored.... I take the first crack. Tell me the name of this movie. I'll give hints along the way if there is difficulty - but I don't want to give away too much too quickly: PLOT: A mad bomber holds thousands of lives at stake. A quiet man with a deep understanding of explosives and electronics -- and possibly a traumatic history in the Vietnam War -- targets the public for his million-dollar extortion scheme. He informs federal agents and corporate owners that he has planted a bomb and he demands one million dollars. Name this movie
  23. QUOTE (D54 @ Oct 19 2004, 03:24 PM) It was the first Rush album I heard back in 1979, and I've been hooked since................ Nice to meet ya D54. Which album are you referring to. It doesn't show which one you voted for.
  24. Flawless album. Not a bad note from start to end. Natural Science takes it though. Freewill's solo section is a close second.
