It helps it you don’t mind the sometimes over referencing of ‘ Rainbows’ in his lyrics 😉🤣 -

Yeah it is but a bit like Mick, I just find it’s so ironic that ( especially being a hard core Toto fan .. I even own their Dune soundtrack album ! ) despite being such a unique sounding single in it’s own right, it doesn’t represent at all Toto’s excellent AOR/Melodic Hard Rock catalogue. I know this is also the case with a lot of Hard Rock bands whereby due to the record company releasing often what is the softest ballad from the album so that it get guaranteed radio air play, they become more well known for soft ballads or odd-ball tracks than their main body of hard rocking work. 🤔 mind you Segue I think Tom Sawyer is a better reflection of than Africa is of Toto. I’m just glad that neither Tai Shan nor Madigral for example aren’t Rush’s best know song by non-fans ! 🙃🤣 -

Yeah Africa is their most (over) played radio song and I don’t really hate it quite as much as Mick ! 🙃🤣😉 I just much prefer Rosanna & Hold the Line and 95% of their deep cuts -

This is true Same as ‘Africa ‘ for Toto - despite being the first song by Toto most folks hear - it doesn’t represent the band’s excellent catalogue of AOR/Melodic Hard Rock at all ! 🙃🤣 Luke quite rightly regularly states that from Toto IV - Rosanna is a fair better representation of this music. Especially the full album version where Paich & Luke jam and trade ace bluesy yet melodic improvised licks at the end ! 😎 -

Also … - P/G (GUP ) 10/10 ⭐️ I know this is one of their more marmite albums ( Hope people outside the UK know what marmite is ! 🤔🙃) but it was my first ever Rush album and it was also their current release at the time so I STILL love it ! -

Yesterday and today ( Y&T ! .. think I’ll listen to them tomorrow ) Dream Theater - The Astonishing 2016 (7/10) as much as I love DT .. it’s not one of their best ! -
Captain EP, just thought that this maybe of interest … Up until the age of about 30, like our beloved Neil 🤔, I was very skeptical about Astrology. ( Lerxst by the way considers himself to be a ‘ typical Virgo ‘ and often quotes the fact that one of his former guitar techs was also a Virgo… then again so was the doubting Neil ! 🙃) Based on just Western Astrology alone I’d meet fellow Capricorns and think ‘ well they are nothing like me, so it must be a load of rubbish !’ 🤣🙃 … However upon further deeper investigation, I found when combining Western Astrology with Chinese Astrology to form the much more precise Double Sign Astrology … it is scarily accurate 😮 For example after glancing at your DOB I see you are an Leo 🦁 Earth Tiger 🐯 ( Aug ‘98 ) 😎 Whereas Ibanez Jem is a Leo 🦁 Wood Rabbit 🐰 ( Aug ‘75 ) I find that Chinese Astrology trumps Western and yep people born in the year of the Tiger do tend to act and think quite differently to those born in the year of the Rabbit. EP, Feel free to look into this further yourself if you are curious … or of course feel free to dismiss it as a load of nonsense ! 🤣

🤔 Hmm just a general observation … seems like Chinese years of the Dragon are normally pretty good for Rock releases! 1976 : Boston, Rush, Thin Lizzy as per the albums you’ve listed 👍😎 ( plus Led Zep - Presence Rainbow - Rising , Genesis - a trick of the tail ) 1988 : Queensrŷche - Operation Mindcrime VH - OU812, Metallica - And Justice for All, Megadeth ‘ So far, so good … ‘ Toto ‘ The Seventh One ‘ Maiden ‘ Seventh Son of a 7th Son ‘ .. anyway my point in aroundabout way 🤣 is next year 2024 is another Dragon year so 🤞for another great year for Rock & Metal
