  1. They aren't the kind of band that would post an official announcement unlike some acts. They're going quietly with this. Agreed. I'll respect their decision, but I'm not going to go around pointing fingers at them for not making it official like I originally said they should. Anyways, hats of to the band for the good music.
  2. To be perfectly honest, I've seen this be brought up before in the past but I'm going to consider Rush to be together until I see an official announcement on their website or social media.
  3. We'll get wild, wild, wild? Nobody ever got wild listening to Presto. Sad maybe, bored definitely, but not wild. Oh well.
  4. You are being rounded up tomorrow and sent to a re-education camp in Ontario. I’ll find a way to avoid that.
  5. I'm mixed to tell you the truth. But if I had to choose, I'd go with it being an 80s album.
  6. I'm afraid I'll have to agree with you on how Portnoy is after leaving DT. As much as he's a drummer I look up to very highly, he's in way too many bands for me to keep track of to say the least.
  7. If you haven’t already, listen to the Twelve Step Suite.
  8. After about a year and a half of being a DT fan, I finally had the chance to see them at the Fox Theater in Oakland on October 25th. I made a post about the concert in the concert reviews thread but I'll give my thoughts here since this is THE Dream Theater thread for TRF. Anyways, I made myself a note to not do a bunch of filming, I fell somewhat into that trap. However, I filmed small sections (no more than a minute long) of songs which were about 7 or so. I had second row seats more towards where John Myung was. Crowd wise, I believe the venue was packed and maybe even a sold out show. There were a lot of people sitting which I was a bit irritated by since I was expecting everybody to be standing. Overall, it was the best show I'd ever been to and I will plan on seeing them again on their next album's tour.
  9. Tom Sawyer Limelight Red Barchetta YYZ Witch Hunt The Weapon Chemistry Between the Wheels Marathon Show Don't Tell I'd go over 10 but I'd probably be exiled off of the thread.
  10. I still consider Rush to be my favorite band, but I tend to see myself listening to Dream Theater or Queensryche nowadays.
  11. Aww come on. I like The Big Wheel!
  12. Master of Puppets Ride the Lightning ...And Justice For All Kill Em All
  13. I bought it, but I haven't listened to it a whole lot. Meanwhile, I still would like a new album?
  14. My starting point with Rush was when I was 7 and on my old iPod Nano, I had some Rush albums on there from my dad (Rush, Moving Pictures, Chronicles, Rush In Rio, and Feedback) and I listened to some of the songs although I was more interested in stuff like Jimi Hendrix, Beach Boys, Beethoven, Beatles, etc. Specifically however, the songs I got hooked on the most were Limelight, Red Barchetta, A Passage to Bangkok, Ghost Rider, and Heart Full of Soul. I eventually dropped listening to Rush altogether until probably November of 2015. I remember Rush in Rio being the album that pretty much re-hooked me onto Rush. After that, I started collecting all the albums and have been at that point ever since then.
  15. He doesn’t run away from fans? if your wearing Post Portnoy DT shirt he'll unleash a mighty bitch fit on you. Mick Crap, I gotta do something about my Images, Words & Beyond shirt. i got it....Get it signed by Mike Mangini. then Mail it to Portnoy.....then sit back for the fun, lol Mick Even better: I ask Mangini to sign a copy of The Astonishing and send it to Portnoy with a note saying "This album is better than Metropolis Pt. 2!"

  17. Mike Portnoy is definitely one of my favorite drummers out there, but if you want to know how he feels about Rush, you could always just meet him and ask him about it.

    I see Red!

I guess it must be something, that I read!
  19. Michael Jackson...they connected Michael Jackson with YYZ. Funny stuff. Yeah, the first thing I've always thought of when the groove drops in is Beat It. :laughing guy: MJ and YYZ are now forever moonwalking in my head. Where's Eddie Van Halen with a blistering solo?
  20. I shall listen to the entire 2112 album.
  21. I have to get a haircut and I'll probably listen to 2112 all the way through.
  22. You mean Tai Shan and Dog Years? Yes, I like those songs! Who doesn't!
