  1. You would give a vote to which of these big metal albums? Definitely I will go with Powerslave, but not by much. Album 3 tracks clash: 1) Creeping Death VS Aces High? (Creeping Death for me) 2) For Whom The Bell Tolls VS Rime of the Ancient Mariner? (Rime for me) 3) Fade to Black VS Powerslave? (Powerslave for me)
  2. The prog album of your choice is? I will go with Leftoverture slightly.
  3. The album of your choice is? My choice is definitely Operation Mindcrime and I like the other one.
  4. How then on the page Feedback already exists a poll "Prog song battle: Comfortably Numb vs. Carry On Wayward Son"?
  5. 70's - heavy prog 80's(post-MP) - synth rock
  6. OK, what do you say on this one? My choice would be Fragile, just barely.
  7. I don't consider their post-MP work to be prog rock at all, their music is a synth-driven. I would label it as synth-rock and new wave-rock, AOR.
  8. How would you label Rush 70's and 80's music? I will accept a Progarchives site label heavy prog but only for Rush work from Caress of Steel to Moving Pictures. But I don't know how I would label their post-Moving Pictures 80's work. I definitely don't consider it prog rock. What are your opinions?
  9. Comfortably Numb by a mile, absolutely by a mile, it cannot compete. though I like that Kansas popular song.
  10. What you think about this album, is it great, do you like it? This 90's album became so big critics darling as a band Radiohead is. On sites besteveralbums and rateyourmusic OK Computer is incredibly ranked as No 1 album of all time. I think it's very good album, maybe in top 3 best 90's albums, but I also find it so overrated, esp. by music critics. I like Paranoid Android so much, it's a superb track and maybe Radiohead's best.
  11. I can't see any objectivity in your posts. Your opinions are so biased. For example you consider The Who and Deep Purple decent rock bands while I consider them one of the best and the most important rock bands of all time who can compete with Rush any day, every day. Geddy Lee as a rock bassist belongs in the conversation with the likes of The Ox, John Paul Jones, Les Claypool, Chris Squire, Steve Harris, Cliff Burton and Geezer Butler. Maybe if I ask you who is a better keyboardist: Geddy Lee or Jon Lord, or Geddy Lee or Rick Wakeman you would say Geddy Lee in both cases. I am a huge Rush fan, I consider them one of the best and the most quality rock bands, but I am not so biased. Actually, I am not really a fan of the Who or DP, or most classic rock bands in general. I am a fan of Rush because they are (were) not your typical classic rock band, and because they chose to morph and grow once the 70s were over. The classic rock bands were the big influence on Rush. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, early Genesis and Jethro Tull were all influential on Rush. But Rush became the unique and original rock band, but on the albums Fly by Night, Caress of Steel and 2112 some musical similarities with Zeppelin are undeniable.

  13. Why? Because it's a Rush forum, so they're always gonna win any poll. How then Alex Lifeson lost the poll against Eddie Van Halen?
  14. What you think? Which bassist is your pick? I think The Ox is slightly better, in fact the best rock bassist of all time, Geddy can come closely second to him.
  15. Yep, their best years! Period.
  16. Geddy Lee's ranking of Rush albums (from That Metal Show)
  17. 70's, no contest! Not a big fan of the Rush output after Grace Under Pressure.
  18. Here I go: 1.2112 2.Xanadu 3.La Villa Strangiato 4.Natural Science 5.Necromancer 6.Jacob's Ladder 7.YYZ 8.Subdivisions 9.The Trees 10.Freewill But this list can be changed from time to time.
  19. La Villa Strangiato all the way! Even Watchmojo put it No 1 on a list of Top 10 Instrumental Songs: Classic Rock.
  20. I can't believe Red Barchetta is the most popular here. Definitely my favorite is YYZ, a way better than so overrated Red Barchetta IMHO.
  21. Overrated: a toss-up between Tom Sawyer and Red Barchetta Underrated: Fountain of Lamneth.
  22. 1.Natural Science 2.Jacob's Ladder 3.YYZ 4.Subdivisions 5.Between the Wheels 6.The Camera Eye 7.Freewill 8.Marathon 9.Time Stand Still 10.The Analog Kid.
  23. 1.2112 2.Xanadu 3.La Villa Strangiato 4.Necromancer 5.Cygnus X-1 part I (Farewell to Kings) 6.By-Tor & the Snow Dog 7.The Trees 8.Passage to Bangkok 9.Anthem 10.Bastille Day Absolutely none from the Rush debut album. Don't like it!
