  1. Of the new releases I've got Are You Experienced?, so that's my favourite. As money allows I'll be picking the rest up, and I'd imagine that'll be chronologically. Can't wait.
  2. QUOTE (The Owl @ Mar 14 2010, 09:56 PM) How is Showbiz? I know most of the album is re-recordings of 2 EP's that were their first releases. Yes, about 8 tracks appeared on the two EP's before hand. Honestly, it's a great little album. Sounds nothing like Radiohead at all which is the common opinion, and has a really raw sound. Muse were so angsty and energetic back then. I reckon it's waaaaay better than the last two albums and with some tracks missed off it'd be on a par with Origin and Abso. Buy it if you can.
  3. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 14 2010, 11:02 PM) QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Mar 14 2010, 05:36 PM)I'm torn over which release to recommend next. Given you've got Showbiz and Origin at 3rd and 5th maybe Hullabaloo isn't the best choice even though it's my favourite. HAARP is great, and to watch them killing Wembley on their first try is a joy, but I still find it doesn't sound great whereas Hullabaloo is an angry, energetic and mad performance. Plus, with Hullabaloo you'd be getting some B-Sides from the Showbiz/Origin era, some of which are better than some stuff they've put out on the last two albums. Essentially, HAARP is a more rounded overview of their career played live, but it misses some great songs out. Hullabaloo enhances some of the songs on it, especially the Showbiz tracks, and you might find yourself liking that album and Origin more and more by hearing those songs how they should be heard - Live. Have you considered the Hullabaloo DVD? That's far more comprehensive and blows HAARP and Absolution Tour away. I was thinking about Hullabaloo Soundtrack for the mix of live tracks and b-sides. I'll probably get it, then HAARP, then the Hullabaloo DVD, and finally the Abso Tour DVD (because Amazon only has it in Region 2). It's a shame they didn't package the DVD with the CD. You can't go wrong with any of those choices, really. Although, if you've got albums, something visual might be better to go with next.
  4. QUOTE (tick @ Mar 14 2010, 11:06 PM) don't even know who they are. Check them out then. You might like them.
  5. QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Mar 14 2010, 08:14 PM) So far, my top five are: 1. Black Holes and Revelations 2. Absolution 2. Origin of Symmetry 4. The Resistance 5. Showbiz To me, Absolution has songs that I like a lot - basically everything through "Butterflies and Hurricanes" - but then takes a dip towards the end. Origin seems more consistent, but I don't love as many songs on it as I do Abso. I can't really pick one over the other, but if I absolutely had to, I'd probably go with Abso. As for purchases... the next two will be Hullabaloo and HAARP, but it will definitely be a while because I want to get more familiar with the Muse that I currently own. Hunter, which one do you recommend I get first. First, I have to say I agree with you completely on Absolution. I've always thought that those last 4 songs, while great and absolutely deserving of being on the album, are placed awfully. The problem is those first 8 tracks sound wonderful together so how to split them up?! Ruled By Secrecy and Thoughts of a Dying Atheist are great closers though. I'm torn over which release to recommend next. Given you've got Showbiz and Origin at 3rd and 5th maybe Hullabaloo isn't the best choice even though it's my favourite. 6. QUOTE (tangy @ Mar 14 2010, 07:35 PM) I have recently bought Absolution and The Resistance. I really have not fully digested either disc yet but voted for the resistance. Definitely like both of them though. Get Origin of Symmetry. ASAP.
  7. Origin of Symmetry/Absolution/Showbiz/Hullaballo/Black Holes and Revelations/The Resistance. That's my order from favourite to least.
  8. Being a 14 year old kid listening to Radio 1 and it was either pop or Hysteria/Time Is Running Out/SS makes me want to vote Absolution, but then there's Origin. Hmmm...
  9. New song up on myspace. The Broken didn't get me all excited for the new album, but this new song? Yeah, colour me worked-up already.
  10. I think these guys count, so if none of you have listened to Secret Machines yet you're missing out. Check out debut album Now Here Is Nowehere if you have time.

I had listened to it so many times that it started to sound like background music. I put it in on through my headphones this morning at work, and it's just as amazing as it was the first time I heard it. By far, my favorite PT studio release. I can't wait to hear it live. But, I still cannot figure out what is being whispered at the very beginning of the title track. Anyone? Interesting Sue. That happens to me all the time with records I obsess over. Long breaks are needed from certain albums or bands that we love. I haven't listened to any RUSH in quite some time. Oh, yeah. I HAD to give Rush a rest for a while a few years back. Just sick to death of 'em! Especially Moving Pictures. I simply could not hear it for about two years. I've gotten better with the PT, though. I'm listening to Opeth, and some of my old school stuff like The Police and old U2. I've got Radiohead waiting for me to burn on CD. Gotta mix it up, ya' know? Good stuff Sue! Glad to see you are into Opeth!!! I mix it up every night! I've been listening to Morningrise alot, and I have one other Opeth CD. Can't remember which one it is. I tried listening to some Messhugah, but it scared the crap out of me. And, of course, I have my beloved Marillion with H on vocals. I could listen to his voice all day. My next music purchase is going to be that new Transatlantic. Sue! Do you have Opeth's "Watershed?" It's a must! Oh and you must get that Transatlantic cd pronto!! It's a masterpiece! I've been addicted to that album for weeks now!! Do you like the new MUSE cd? Earl Earl, you're a clever guy. Given the quality of their back catalogue, The Resistance is hardly the best album to recommend?! It's all about Absolution! BTW, have you picked up tickets to see them on their American tour?
  12. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Jan 25 2010, 10:58 PM) Only January and 2 cracking new releases that I know will be on my year end list: Eels - End Times Vampire Weekend - Contra Add Hidden by These New Puritans to that list. I can't stress how much you need to listen to that album as soon as possible.

  15. I really enjoyed Book Of Eli. The pacing was great, dialogue was great and the acting was superb - Denzel and Gary make watching this movie a must on the strength of their performances. I'm still a little perplexed as to how this is, as the critics are saying, a run of the mill, post-apocalypse movie. The religious themes in the film elevate it beyond any post-apocalyspe movie I've seen, and I'm still discussing one of the major WTF moments with a friend 3 days after I saw it. It's definitely worth watching on the big screen.
  16. After watching it with all the other blockbusters of the summer, and then re-watching after it and all the other summer blockbusters came out on blu, I have to say this was certainly the best of the bunch for me, and that's mainly because I STILL enjoy watching it. It's a world you can easily escape into, it's cool and the movie flows so well. I might end up watching it tonight.
  17. Who's it going to take to stop this SHIT?! P-Digi, if you are the big victim like your trying to come across as, STOP DRAGGING THE FEUD ON AND ON AND ON AND ON. Especially if it's a PM thing, they're called Private Messages for a reason.
  18. QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jan 11 2010, 08:51 PM) QUOTE (Mandalorian Hunter @ Jan 11 2010, 04:39 PM) QUOTE (Necromancer @ Jan 11 2010, 08:22 PM) Some grit their teeth seeing me complain about it. But why should people HAVE to? I know it's a message board, yada yada, and in a thread like this you were bang on; without a negative comment it would have died a quick death with one line answers. But in a thread aimed at the thinking behind how certain things happened in Star Wars is it really, honestly neccesary? Is there really nothing else constructive you can do on the board? When my flatmate talks about Paramore I berate him 9 times out of 10, but sometimes it's better to give him that tenth time, leave the sarcasm and let him have his fun for a while and show a little deference. Anyway, I'll chime out now and leave the fun to everyone else. Good point, but I think I did say somewhere in all this that I actually DO give the tenth one. There's a Star Wars thread that Slacker started on here somewhere. I don't think I've done much damage in there. Maybe in the beginning, but I figured that was a true fans thread, so I let it alone. Go back to the thread where Lerxt asked the question about Vader. Someone gave a three line answer about something or another and then PDigi (I got this copyrighted by the way) came in and told that person that they were overthinking it and then went on a multiple paragraph diatribe about what HE thought about the matter. Hysterical. The one person says very little about it, but THEY are overthinking it. That made me laugh hysterically... and with it came my venomous ass-busting. I'm going to find that thread, and saviour it. You know what, fair's fair. Also, I saw P-D's post while I was writing this; I can see why you need to keep this up, you're only defending yourself.

Absolutely. For my part in it all, the only thing I've done today is adopt a really smokin' Jam Master nickname. The real stink continues to come from the same source. I'll lay $5 on poor venting myself. Until you start wearing a BIG gold medallion, and a Nike headband with the Nike logo upside down, you won't be fit to refer to yourself as PDigi. Photographic proof is required. I'd love it if he edited his avatar pic in such a manner. In fact, I'd likely ROFLMAO. Seconded. What if his name suddenly changed *HINT*
