Happy 6th Anniversary, Mick !! (bluefox4000 )

Joe is mine by far but Fergie has a grit that neither Joe or Kimball can match. Maybe the best pure vocalist but he cant touch what Joe can do as far as a storyteller. -
Song By Song Battle: Counterparts vs. Test For Echo

Everyday Glory is the best song on Counterparts. One of my very favorite Rush songs. To each his own. Its putrid but whatevers. -
How about the Pleasure Chest?

Song By Song Battle: Counterparts vs. Test For Echo
Digital Dad replied to diatribein's topic in Rush
Everyday Glory is f***ing totally f***ing completely f***ing stupid and awful. Are you are really listening to this song? What a POS song. You guys cut down Dog Years and Hero and you praise this song? What is wrong with you all? -
Song By Song Battle: Counterparts vs. Test For Echo

I knew you were different in your musicality. :laughing guy: I still enjoy that song though. Mick Once you get past that initial verse, the song shines, IMO. (And it's the clumsy phrasing, not the content, for the record) Lerxsts solo is just beautiful and I can tell that despite the clunkiness of the verse Ged really believes in the message behind it all. This is Rush at its idiosyncratic best. -
Song By Song Battle: Counterparts vs. Test For Echo
Digital Dad replied to diatribein's topic in Rush
I used to like T4E a lot but last time I tried it I hated it. Counterparts is easily a great album, but for all its strengths I like Roll The Bones and Presto more. But saying that, Cold Fire and Everyday Glory are top ten Rush songs for me. T4E is a lame attempt to continue going Alt. Rock. Which they already did well on CP. so the record comes off a bit pointless. but yea Presto beats both these. Mick I just listened to Presto all the way thru and even though Superconductor and Scars are substandard the entire album really hangs together f***ing well. Its got such a vibe about it. I cant really explain. -

Song By Song Battle: Counterparts vs. Test For Echo

I love Test For Echo. I didn't always but I warmed up to it. Yeah even Virtuality. In all honesty it ranks alongside CP really. I like em both Animate < Test For Echo Stick It Out < Driven Cut To The Chase >Half The World Nobody's Hero <The Color Of Right Between Sun & Moon > Time And Motion Alien Shore > Totem The Speed Of Love < Dog Years Double Agent > Virtuality Leave That Thing Alone < Resist Cold Fire > Limbo Everyday Glory < Carve Away the Stone 6-5 T4E. But it coulda gone the other way. -

Rank studio albums in the Rush discography by their cover art!
Digital Dad replied to Texas King's topic in Rush
It was an error at the printing press, not Hugh's fault. The error was caught too late, and the band did not have the money to fix it that early in their career so they had to let it go. It kinda symbolizes that whole album doesnt it. -
:ebert: Man the suite is fantastic but I do love side 2

I'll do the battle for you soon, but expect really disheartening results! RtB vs T4E? Lol Na... I'll do Counterparts vs. Test For Echo, but I think you'll be pretty unhappy. They only like Driven here. Time & Motion. :haz: Hell I like Half the World and Dog Years. Yeah Im a weirdo and I dont care.

Happy Fathers Day -
Agreed......Chicago are cheesy nonsense. You never heard the early shit with Terry Kath. Real. Word. Post Kath they turned into fluffy pop shit. For rhe most part yes very much but there are still gems here and there. 13 sucks. Dont even try it. 14 and 16 suprise me but 17 is way overrated beyond the 2 songs I love. The magic was gone post Kath. Not even Robert Lamm could write anymore. His early material is all ace.
-
Those are both amazing but Raven tops em all.
