  1. Seeker - I agree. The mix is pretty shaky on umpteen songs. Subdivisions e.g. sounds a bit muddy to my ears. Also the bottom end frequency seems to have been taken out on a load of songs and they're left sounding really tinny. I'm no audio expert but watching it for the first time I was grimacing in quite a few places :( Listen to a few then try some off S&A or TM and I could really tell the difference. Picture quality was fantastic though. Considering they've had a year to get it 100% perfect there is no excuse.
  2. That's my blu-ray & 3cd posted tonight. Fingers crossed it'll be with me tomorrow morning. Can't wait :)
  3. Track premiere, 2112 live from the CD. http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2013/10/28/rush-rocks-with-new-live-version-of-2112-track-premiere/
  4. Yes, it's on Different Stages but not never been filmed on DVD as L2K was suggesting.
  5. How's this for a setlist? One Little Victory Tom Sawyer Subdivisions Force Ten Grand Designs Chain Lightning Afterimage YYZ Countdown The Camera Eye Peaceable Kingdom Red Barchetta Middletown Dreams New World Man Vital Signs Where's My Thing Available Light Headlong Flight Red Lenses - Drum Solo 2112 (Entire Suite) Jacob's Ladder Far Cry Encores:- The Spirit Of Radio Anthem Finding My Way Total Time - 2 hours 40 mins give or take
  6. Premiere of The Garden - Live (full clip) http://www.rollingst...emiere-20131017 When Ged's bass come in at 1min 14sec I got goosebumps. The mixing on this sounds perfect. Bass, drums & guitar in prefect harmony. It honestly sounds better than any of their previous releases. I am soooo stoked for this now. Just over 4 weeks and counting - getting closer.
  7. Good idea. The other thing to remember I just thought about is maybe it didn't feel right for the TM Tour and as for CA Tour they were limited with time with having the orchestra, play the hits and they obviously decided to do a heap of Power Windows tracks, something I was fine with. So we lost JL, but got another heap of oldies in HD, Body Electric, Territories, Grand Designs, Analog Kid, Were's My Thing, Middletown Dreams etc. Good times ;)
  8. Was worried about this aswell Well the CD has finally showed up on Amazon UK. http://www.amazon.co...ls tour blu ray £12.30 for 3 CDs - Bonus :) I'm guessing the Blu-Ray/DVD will show anytime now. Yes, I was sweating it!! Hey, also released a day before our Yank friends :) Next stop - sound clips anyone?
  9. Do people really think that. A band as well rehearsed and professional as these guys? Fair enough if there were major gaps between tours and they were rusty but Rush have always kept their chops well up to date and they are playing now better than ever IMHO. If they really stuck at that 1 track I bet you they could nail it!!! No problem! Why is this one any more difficult than a load of others? As for it being an energy sapper is it any different than say Xanadu? JL does pick up a bit at the end. It's always had a great mood about it.
  10. Would love to hear JL aswell. I remember Yes had tried to resurrect South Side Of The Sky in 2001 but Jon Anderson said it didn't feel right in rehearsals. Of course they eventually got the bugs ironed out and did it on the 2003 & 2004 tours. I'm hoping maybe Rush will crack JL for the next tour the same way Yes did. I guess it's all about timing, the way it feels, arrangement and how it fits into the flow of the set list. Probably best as an encore.
  11. Why are you even here if you hate everything about the band so much ? You take every opportunity to cut them down in some way. Don't you have anything better to do? Untrue, I like the band very much, There, wherein, lies the "problem". No, you "like" a band from the late 1970's/early 1980's. Like my mate. I'm 44 and he's 49 and he hates everything after Signals. Christ! Just last week he said he gave Power Windows a chance and said it sounded soooooo 80's, like the drums, keyboards & production. To be honest, I still thinks it stands up really well. I can't wait to blast out the live versions from the upcoming blu-ray. It'b be good to see if he changes his mind. Also, to be fair he did like Peaceable Kingdom off Vapor Trails. Great track.
  12. I agree. I'm still pissed they never released a DVD for the Test For Echo Tour that would have 2112 in its Entirety. other live shows I would like to have were the Counterparts and Roll the Bones Tours. Yes. Roll the Bones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj-LMNiAWnM&list=RD02YcKeYXMS0Qc Great clip but that was the main thing about Rush I hated in those days. I was always confused why they didn't do longer than 2 hour sets when Yes and other bands would do 2hr 30min plus sets. Also hated those medleys of 2 min of Red Barchetta and 30 sec of Spirit Of Radio - christ what's the point - it kills the mood/feel of a track!!
  13. Rush are the only band that have released an album (well up until Vapor Trails) every 2 years. Every album I listen to reminds me of a period of my life. My mate who's 49 (I'm 44) was moaning about the 80's sound of Power Windows. The other side of the coin is I was 17/18 years old when I was listening to Power Windows & Hold Your Fire in constant rotation. It brings back memories of that age when you're old enough to out drinking (still am), chase girls (still am) and listening to Rush a lot (still am). Glad they did a good chunk of PW on CATour. I'm surprised they didn't just do the whole album since it's one of Ged's favs.
  14. Good point. I just cannot wait to blast out Grand Designs at full volume. I'm watching Time Machine right now but always felt the mix was slightly muddy and some camera angles used didn't quite look full HD! It just didn't have the sparkle & shine that Snakes had. Next stop - Clockwork Angel Tour sound clips!!!
  15. I find it weird that people moan about them releasing so many live sets. So many?? If you don't want them , don't buy them. Remember these sets contain almost 3 hours of live music and the set list has been revolving nicely since Rush In Rio so I'm pretty damned happy and they keep getting better. For me Clockwork Angels Tour is the best one yet! I find bands like ELP & Deep Purple releasing sub-standard live shows are just scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  16. Watched it the other night and it's my least fav. Ironically it's the most technically perfect, sound and vision-wise. Reason being I find it completely sterile in terms of atmosphere. The audience are dead. It's the same with UK audiences. Nothing against them - it's just the way we are. I get more of a kick watching Rush In Rio or Time Machine. Still enjoy the Snakes one though. I'd prefer them to film shows where audiences really go crazy. Really looking forward to this new one. Ticks a lot of boxes for new HD live versions of :- The Analog Kid Where's My Thing Middletown Dreams The Body Electric Territories Grand Designs Add in most of Clockwork Angels live Plus The Big Money & Force Ten and The icing on the cake is Subdivisions as an opener Perfection!!!!! Bloody hell - just 8 weeks to wait!
  17. And in their return letter, what did they tell you? Which one wrote the letter? Or was it a collective response to which all three penned their sigs? No return letter, but they did send me this :- http://img37.imagevenue.com/loc578/th_59157_Rush_Autographs_122_578lo.jpg Was a good day that :)
  18. Finally... I knew it was coming, at least we'll have it before Xmas but still an 8 week wait! Hope they add Middletown Dreams etc from Phoenix on the live CD. I wrote to them asking if they could add other live tracks.
  19. Don't worry, I'm sure an announcement is coming now any day. In fact I remember Time Machine was originally announced for a mid-October release but was delayed for a couple weeks. Anyone else remember that?
  20. The news for the Time Machine live set was posted on Rush.com on Monday 19th Sept 2011 for an 8th Nov 2011 release. I'd expect (given that it's not already announced) an official announcement will come this Monday or next with roughly the same time release period. A month after VP Remix seems obvious. I was worried too with the VP Remix and box set they might hold it until next year but remember they released the Sector Three boxsets 24th Nov 2011 and the Clockwork Angels Blu-Ray would be a big Xmas seller. Can't wait...
  21. I wrote to the band suggesting songs to play on R40 (if they do it) Sorry if anyone doesn't like any of the following :- Jacob's Ladder New World Man Countdown Afterimage Kid Gloves Show Don't Tell Chain Lightning Available Light Nobody's Hero Driven Peacable Kingdom I'd rather hear hopefully about an hours worth of rare/unplayed tracks but happy with whatever they do. Always wondered why they never did Chain Lightning for instance. Great track.
