  1. 24 hours left until my train leaves for Arkansas. Reality is hitting me so hard right now, but I'm so excited to see my boyfriend again after 3 weeks. The hardest parts of this process are finally over.

  2. 9 days until I move to Jacksonville, Arkansas! Bye-bye, California. You're too big and too expensive.

Hope the move goes well, do you have relatives there?  It is going to be a big change, culture there is not like California at all.  I have relatives in Georgia and I love going to see them but it takes me time to adjust when I am there.

      Wishing you the best.

@Rhyta Thank you so much! I'm hopping on the Amktrak on the 29th. We have friends there and know quite a few people out here in California who are from there/have lived there. Thankfully, my boyfriend has been living there for almost 3 weeks, he found us an apartment very quickly. He then met a next door neighbor who is a 49-year-old Arkansan version of himself! Same music taste, smokes medical marijuana, plays guitar and writes music and LOVES TO JAM! So, that has helped my boyfriend adjust culturally, they hang out all day because our neighbor is disabled and can't work. That's going to help me adjust, my boyfriend is telling me new things about Arkansas and the culture every day, it's crazy.

I'm very excited to live on my own, I'm finally leaving my parent's house. My boyfriend and I realized that we needed to move out, but definitely couldn't do it within our means in California. We considered several states, Minnesota was my first choice because I have a whole family out there pretty much. I really love Minnesota, and it's culture, and I will live there someday, but this is not the time of year to do it. We landed on Arkansas because of the slower pace of life, it's something that will help us live under our means for a couple of years. The both of us want to live in a smaller town where people know their neighbors, but there are decent job opportunities.

That sounds great.  I love the idea of riding Amtrak, you'll get to see so much of the country. I have fond memories of riding the train with my Mom to visit her family in Georgia.

Wishing you a nice trip and enjoy getting to know your neighbors.  Cheers!
