  1. My only complaint - I didn't see Kelly D and her smokin' hot blond friend anywhere in the video. Goddam it!
  2. Actually, we're all wrong about Neil and his tendency to avoid his fans. I just got off the phone with him and he has approved the following, for when we get together at my house for salmon cakes and The McCallan: No more than 100 "hard-cores" in my house at one time - No more than 10 signatures and 10 photos per fan - Fans may only use the term "Drum God" twice during the meeting - BONUS: There will be a random draw (no purchase necessary) to accompany him on his next motorcycle trip and - get this - the luck winner gets to ride on the back of his BMW... telling him how great he is the whole way. So, he's more open to fan appreciation than we first thought!
  3. Big move coming up for 'ol TBR. I'm selling my house (the one I just goddam well built!) and I'm moving to New Brunswick. I'm buying 200 acres and building a house about 20 miles from Meductic, NB, which is where the Sabian Cymbal factory is. So, I'll keep a look-out for a red BMW motorcycle pulling up to the back doors. When I see Neil, I'll invite him over for salmon, wild rice and The McCallan. And, when he sits down to eat, ALL of you come running into the house yelling "We LOVE Neil" ... then you all start telling him how great he is... he'd love that! Maybe I'll get a job there as Neil's rep... (I swear to God, Limelight just came on 105.3, the Giant, Thunder Bay... too weird, eh?)
  4. There's a question as to whether 2112 tells a story or not? I must have misunderstood the original question. Or, maybe I'm just going mental... or bald. Wait, I'm already bald.
  5. Totally agree - BEST band ever! But, I'll go one step further... from AFTK through MP is the best four album stretch of RECORDED music ever. Just happens to be by the best band ever... Rush.
  6. I'm probably going to sound like a pecker-head here, but what in the F are people complaining about Geddy's voice for? The guy sounds goddam amazing, 60 years old or not. But, to answer the original question - Yes, I would be opposed. There is NO need for any enhancement period.
  7. All I know is that if there NEVER was anything called religion, meaning it was never started, never thought of, written about, it was always non-existent, nothing or no one to pray to, no such thing as a prayer, no religion ever - there would be one hell of a lot LESS arguing in this world. Less murders, less wars. Actually, almost NO wars. And, no people knocking on my goddam door wanting me to believe what they believe. And, people wouldn't have to "leave" a band for a while because of the lyrics.
  8. Good to see you back on thr grid you flatulant bastard! You can smell my farts all the way down to Tennessee???????????????????????????? You have a better nose than a whitetail deer...
  9. ThunderBay, how are you doing? Good to see you back! Doin' (Texan for "doing") fine... thank you... wink.
  10. For the life of me, I can’t understand what some people are complaining about. I’ve watched the Clockwork Angles DVD twice now, and I cannot believe how good the band sounds. Each guy is at the top of his game… and I haven’t heard Geddy sing this well since the mid-80s. The crowd was loud and sold out. 14,000 or so. Loved ALL the songs. The only knock I have, and this has already been mentioned a million times, is that Neil’s drums aren’t quite loud enough at times. But, other than that, I think this is nearly a perfect concert DVD. When was the last time you heard three guys, all 60 or older, play and SOUND that good? Oh, and I am going to marry Audrey Solomon, one of the violin players. She doesn’t know this yet, but I’ll send her an email a few days before hand so she has time to track down those leather pants and 5 inch heels…
  11. I saw ELP in Thunder Bay back in the mid-90's. Carl Palmer was insane... I hate to admit it, but he could out-play Neil to death. His technique, speed and showmanship is astonishing.
  12. EXCELLENT once again! Thanks so much for these ... blurred or not, they are killer pictures from back in the day. I was at the Hemispheres show in Ottawa, Ontario on December 21, '78 (or was it '79?) and let me tell you - it was out of this world. This tour was back in the days when Geddy would be playing a double-neck Rickenbacker, keyboards, Taurus pedals and singing - ALL AT THE SAME EFFING TIME. Astonishing talent for a 25 year old.
  13. Not for me... I'll go for an classic set but it must include AFTK and Hemispheres... not negotiable.
  14. Awwwwwwwwwwwww, thanks, BUDDY! (You were talking about me, right?)
  15. I've been a fan since 1976... my first show was the 2112 Tour. But, I gotta say, that ol' Gangsterfurious chick from CA just might kick my ass in the hard-core, Rush fandom department!
  16. Buddy, please route them through Thunder Bay. I'm tired of having to drive 8 effing hours to see them each tour...
  17. If you're smart, you'll stick to smoking fish, sausage and jerky...
  18. Not sure who "Lady April" is, but that names makes her sound kinda hot... and that's always good. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  19. Is this not a bit hypocritical? Why would it be? Ya! I don't see why Gangst's comment is hypocritical... I must have missed something.
  20. Yes,, the hall is a joke... some of the "rock 'n roll" bands and artists (Madonna, Donna Summer and Beastie Boys) that have been inducted is proof. But, even if Rush really wanted to tell them to shove it in their ass, they couldn't do that. Doing so would be the most ridiculous and arrogant thing imaginable. The guys in Rush are Canadians and we Canadians are polite by nature. Besides, only about 1% of Rush's fans would even understand why they would tell them to stick it. How could that be a good thing?
  21. Thanks again, John... GREAT pictures. This, in my opinion, is THE classic Rush era. I'll never forget seeing Rush in Ottawa that tour... It was simply amazing. Max Webster opened up, along with Ottawa band, Butler.
  22. I believe you are correct. According to "Rush history" either discussed by Geddy or other Rush people, John was not very proud of his lyrics and threw them away at the last minute. Geddy "slapped together" some lyrics, last minute.
