  1. it's an album i like but your right it could use editing. but this is DT editing was never their thing anyway, lol Mick
  2. this is gonna seem petty. but it's refreshing to see a list where Awake is near mid. i'd put it at like 8 or 9. but my point here is everyone loves it. i'm not nuts about it. So many folks have it at like 1 or 2 and i'm like...........REALLLLLLLY THOUGH? Mick
  3. see megadeth is the only thrash band i see no appeal in. Anthrax? i get but i don't really like. Metallica early stuff is great...late is iffy. and Testament is the reverse. not really into early albums. but their most recent output? yes all day. but to be fair Thrash is not my fav anyway. Mick
  4. Night Flight Orchestra-Internal Affairs (10/10) Segue turned me onto this band unfortunatly i only like this debut but if you like classic Rock mixed with AOR this is a good tribyre they mix like. Heart Boston Zep Beatles Toto Steely Dan Bad Company all into one and it's fukking awesome. But Sadly all their good stuff is on this one album for me. after this they (kinda abruptly) shifted to 80's synth-pop and.......i like this first version way better. Mick
  5. it's close to that AOR sound i love. Plus it doesn't hurt that sammy's a killer singer, lol Mick
  6. i love their first 2 albums. not big on much else. so actually based on that alone i'd put after PJ moving nirvana down one more. i really should revisit STP though. Mick
  7. van Halen 5150 (9/10) 0U812 (8/10) For unlawful Carnal Knowledge (9/10) Balance (8/10) I actually really love the Sammy Era of VH Mick
  8. Cobain's also has a wildly different voice from the other 3 lead singers. i mean. this is why the grunge label as a style makes zero sense at all. Soundgarden- Garage rock with touches of punk and psych music. Pearl Jam-Started like a jam band with a funky-ness to them. Developed into Springteen-ish roots rock. AiC-Metal-ish Sabbath type stuff Nirvana - Pixie inspired beatle-y thing. Nevermind really showcased the beatle (specificly lennon) sound. Mick
  9. i think Soundgarden have the best musicians bar none. though AiC come very close. Also SC has a scrappy garage band feel that i love that None of the others have. If i had to rank ONLY the "big four" 1. Alice in Chains (just a preference here, lol) 2. Soundgarden (very close on the heels of SG) 3. Pearl Jam (when they're great they're are fantastic but they do plunge the deapths of boredom at times for me) 4. Nirvana (dead last. Never got the hype......never will get the hype. Don't even WANNA get the hype at this point, lol) Mick
  10. Soundgarden 1. Badmotorfinger' 2. Superunknown 3. Down On the Upside' 4. Louder Than Love 5. Ultramega OK 6. King Animal. Soundgarden have really been spun a lot latly. and i think nearly every album has something to offer. i like some more than others. EXCEPT King Animal. Which i found redundant and tired. and i love him but Chris's voice was kind of shot by that point. But yea i've gained a deeper appreciation for the grunge era as a whole. Mick
  11. Soundgarden King Animal (6/10) Now if there was a subpar SG album this is it. Nothing bad but kinda boring. Didn't help Chris's voice was a bit shot by now. Mick
  12. totally agree. i remember seeing this in stores being shocked cause i kind of forgot them after the previous two, lol I had Superunknown and heard BadmotorFinger at my cousin's Great if uneven album. Mick
  13. Soundgarden-Down On the Upside (8/10) Aside from a few weaker tracks a very worthy followup to Superunknown. i like how it basically covers all musical aspects of the band in one album. Mick
  14. Grunge era bands. Particulary Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. I was a kid at it's height. and was a clasic Rock boy. but wish i'd payed more attention to these bands in the moment. it really was a boom period for rock the early 90's. Mick
  15. Soundgarden Ultramega OK (7/10) Louder Than Love (7/10) i don't know how popular this opinion is but i'm not big on these first two albums. they're OK. a bit too punky in spots for me. i think the next album is where they found a groove. Mick
  16. Alice In Chains. Black Gives Way to Blue (9/10) God Put Dinosaurs Here (6/10) Ranier Fog- (9/10) I haven't played the post Layne albums a ton but i will say they're really good. they sound like AiC. BGWTB and Ranier Fog are my 2 favs. GPDH.....not so much. Yea they won't beat the original line up. but on their own. pretty damn good. and it's scary how much you realize jerry and Layne have always sounded like each other, lol. Mick
  17. me too. because i think gigaton was their best in a GOOD while. Can't say i thought the singles were the best. but we should never judge 2 bitty singles, lol. I 'm still exited. Mick
  18. Alice in Chains-Facelift (10/10) My fav band of this era. I LOVE everything about it. Lyrically dark but who gives a shit, lol Layne is my fav "grunge" singer too easy. Mick
  19. i adored gigaton man. Every track thaat passed i'm like this album rocks. The 2 new singles........eh they were ok. maybe the album will be good. Cause of Gigaton i'm actually a little more excited for a PJ album. Mick
