  1. Haven't had a problem with standing since the Vapor Trails Tour. We were the only people in our section standing (call it rude), but our section was the only section not standing. Eventually a hard core Rush fan behind us demanded that we sit. In between songs, he told us that he had been seeing Rush since the 70's and wanted to enjoy the show without us standing. My response was... "When You saw Rush in the 70's did you sit or stand?" He knew I was right, but it made him mad, and he ultimately got an usher that made us sit. So, we retreated to the field, so we could stand at will and not be bothered.
  2. QUOTE (Animate @ Sep 8 2012, 04:31 PM) QUOTE (RMR @ Sep 8 2012, 07:05 AM) I guess I agree with the comment that it is written for 12- year old's, but I have to say that I really liked it. I'll admit that some of the lyrical references made me cringe, but it was written for Rush fans, so what can you say? I loved the album to start with, and the novel only made me want to listen to the album more, so it succeeded there. Maybe someone can answer this... it kind of lost me in all the talk about the book that Owen finds that the captain said is written by his mother from a another world. Are they implying a parallel universe type of thing? Either I didn't understand that part, or they should have explained it better, or just left it out. Any Thoughts on this? That is his mom's life in another "one of many possible worlds". The whole scene in the bookstore, with "similar-yet-different" versions of Owen's favorite book and later when Owen goes back and can't find the bookstore at all, tells us that in the CA world, there are bridges or connections between many parallel universes and that there are people who move freely between them (the bookseller?). Makes sense. So, I guess the captain can move freely among worlds as well, since he can always find the bookstore and obtain more books. I thought at first that the bookseller might be Owen's mother.

  4. If this has been covered here, I don't want to start a duplicate thread, but I couldn't find it. So, point me in the right direction, if there is an existing thread. What was Geddy's mess up on Presto that caused them to dub in a bass section from a different show? Was it that bad? I would have rather then just left in the mistake.

    Ceiling Unlimited!

QUOTE (Rushman14 @ Nov 3 2011, 10:17 AM)one of my top 3 on VT along Earthshine and Out Of The Cradle I love CU as well, and I'm about to review Vapor Trails, and it is one of my favorites on the album. I've been spinning it non-stop as well. It's interesting that "Out of the Cradle" is mentioned here, which is one of the few Rush songs that doesn't resonate with me, along with "Red Lenses." But yes, Ceiling Unlimited is awesome!
  6. Angles for me. Definitely their catchiest since Dreamline for me.
  7. QUOTE (BethOfSyrinx @ Oct 23 2011, 03:51 PM)Between Sun & Moon~ Ah, Ah/ Yes to Yes/ Why the sun.... Yeah, very catchy!
  8. Red Tide-- Especially the lyrical section of "too late for debate, too bad to ignore/ quiet rebellion leads to open war/ bring a sea-change to the factory floor/ as the red tide covers the shore" Very underrated song. RMR
