  1. QUOTE (The Vigilante @ Jun 19 2012, 11:20 AM) I need to see the setlist before the show... So i have all my air-drumming arranged before the show lol C'mon drumming is feel. Let it flow!
  2. Here's one from left field - Where 's My Thing! Nice litte jam to get the juices flowing
  3. Since they're big Three Stooges fans, go back to the Stooges intro then kick into Big Money. Or hell, shoot the works - 2112 through Temples.
  4. Hope so. Toyota Center in Houston is nice, but.........driving back and going to work the next day......OUCH
  5. I like being on the edge of my seat. No peeks before the show. SURPRISE ME!
  6. Maybe I'm in he minority(hope not!), but I don't worry about a set list of bands I REALLY want to see live. Don't want to see it ether. SURPRISE ME! Keeping fingers crossed they come back to the U. S. sometime in 2013. Closest show is Houston, the last show of the American leg.
  7. Crane's murder never was solved. All they said was there was NO forced entry into is hotel room, so.....he had to know them. The kinky part - actually(according to reports), he was trying to straighten up his life and get out of the swinger's scene. It was long thought(and IMO) Bob Carpenter was the one who killed Crance mainly because he was a "hanger on" and without Crane.....no women. Strange sidebar - Dawson introduced Crane to Carpenter...... Back to Richard Dawson - his cause of death was side effects to esophageal cancer. That might be the reason why he laid low for so long. Loved him on Hogan's Heroes, Match Game, and he WAS Family Feud. Not many left from HH - from the main cast, Robert Clary is the lone survivor. RIP Richard.
  8. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jun 15 2012, 07:55 AM) QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Jun 15 2012, 05:48 AM) Great film, probably my favorite gangster movie ever. Very well written, acted and directed, just about as perfect of a movie you'll see. I can't believe nobody's mentioned Joe Pesci yet? His perforance was just as good as everyone else's and he provided some pretty funny moments to. I just love the loose cannon character he portrayed. Joe Pesci IMO one of the best, if not the best mob movies made. I've seen my fair share, this is the one I return to.
  9. Rushhead 666 - the solo in Taxman you're making reference to - done by McCartney! To those who don't think John wasn't that great - you're just not a product of the 60's. One thing about John, he NEVER bit his tongue. Told it like it was. Count me as another "don't like Yoko" person, especially her music. Sounds like a cat being tortured. Funny thing about the Beatles - in my younger years, more of a McCartney fan. As I got older, leaned more towards John and his edge. George - what a talent. Truly a guitarist who has a unique sound. Hear a few notes, especially on slide - you KNOW who's playing. Ringo - no, not a "flashy" drummer, but one of the most solid out there.
  10. Badfinger - a real lesson on how vicious the music business can be. Nobody will ever know the heights this band could have reached with proper management.
  11. QUOTE (driventotheedge @ Jun 7 2011, 01:58 PM) You aren't the only one. The day he died was one of the darkest of my life to be sure. His death still affects me and always will. Went to work the next day totally numb. As the years go by, it doesn't get easier either. A true genius lost. AND......the coward who shot him, his name NEVER comes out of my mouth. His 'fifteen minutes of fame" died a LONG time ago.
  12. I've seen my fair share of bands since 1978, and the loudest has to be Blue Cheer. Caught their last two tours before bassist Dickie Peterson passed away. Saw them in a small club. No fluff, just straight ahead rock and roll. "We're Blue Cheer and this is what we do". The floor rumbled and the walls vibrated. Sure glad I had the chance to see them.
  13. My friend and I had tickets for the Biloxi show and was en-route to Hard Rock when we had a call from a friend. They cancelled the show at 4PM. Glad to see he's doing OK and hopefully on the road to recovery. This will be a big adjustment for him. Being a diabetic, I can fully understand what he is going through. I wish him the best.
  14. I've been a fan of Styx since the 1970's and missed 3 tours since 1978. I've seen discussion on other boards about is Styx still Styx without Dennis DeYoung. I say.....YES. The shows the current lineup does is a rocking one, not one laden with broadway themed tunes or syrup like Babe. They are having fun and tour a lot(doing roughly 200 shows a year), something DDY can't really do anymore. A few years ago, I went to see Dennis do a show with a 50 piece orchestra. I wanted to see if he still had his "pipes". Well.....a few songs in, had my answer. He doesn't sing full time anymore, nor play keyboards much either. He seemed comfortable being center stage behind a microphone making sad references to Tommy Shaw and James(JY) Young. If he were to rejoin the band(don't expect that!), his voice would shred after a few shows.
  15. The show started off slow, but by the end of the season, it was off and running. Carl and his grandmother.....those two are FUNNY. Looking forward to season 2.
