  1. At approximately what time is this "glitch fill" on We Hold On? I never paid that much attention to that song myself
  2. Will it be available to buy in stores in the US? If so, I might see if my local Barnes and Noble will have it tomorrow, I hope so!! The pictures of it look really neat, congrats to those who already have it
  3. In my opinion there is a difference between listening to a song as a single or listening to it in the context of the whole album Take the song Money by Pink Floyd for example. I personally think it is overplayed on the radio and I never listen to it as a standalone song. But if I am playing it in the context of the whole Dark Side of the Moon record I somehow see it in a different light So all in all even if the songs aren't a part of a single concept or story like Clockwork Angels is, if the songs flow into one another well it makes for a more enjoyable listening experience to me rather than just putting on a collection of new songs
  4. I love how dark the album is - with Snakes and Arrows I get the feeling that a lot of the discontent comes from the fact that the songs are not very heavy and as a result not as adventurous because it is more poppy than prog. With CA the dark nature of the songs allow for more experimentation, and the songs that are poppy stand out amongst the other tunes (which is why I love The Wreckers so much)
  5. I love the orchestral parts! Everyone shines on this track, when I first heard it I assumed the drums would be the highlight but then Geddy comes in with an amazing bass part that totally steals the show. The vocals are fantastic and Alex's harmonic minor solo is amazing!
  6. QUOTE (Deckiller @ Jun 7 2012, 07:53 PM) Yeah, the blues bridge is what keeps this song out of their top tier of songs, IMO - a tier that Caravan, The Anarchist, The Wreckers, and The Garden have reached IMO. Ha that blues section is actually one of the reasons I LOVE this song You have the spacey atmospheric solo then BAM out of the blue you have this blues section that is in a different key and totally random, it gives me chills whenever I hear that transition
  7. I don't see anything wrong with people expressing how they feel about the album at the moment. I say good for them for expressing their sentiments toward CA
  8. After reading all the comments about this song I caved and listened to it (hopefully I can hold out for the rest of the tunes lol) The chorus gave me chills the first time I heard it, that is the "Geddy chorus" type of sounds that really works well and enhances the song. It definitely has a lot of changes that happen pretty fast but it has a great vibe throughout the whole song. I love the spacey "airy" parts in the song before it kicks in with that Double Agent groove and I especially love the bluesy section that came out of nowhere. Plus Alex slays it with that solo! I am forcing myself not to listen to it again until the album comes out but I am already in love with this song
  9. Great review GangsterOnBoats! It was a really interesting read
  10. How well does the storyline fit in the songs? Is it a interesting progression of events like 2112 and other stories?
  11. I am planning on making the album release a cool day When I get the album I am gonna listen to it on my headphones with the album booklet and artwork in my hands taking it all in

  13. I can't wait to hear the album in full! Keep in mind that for all the clips, there are probably parts in the songs that either sound totally different or provide a context to the clip that will make more sense, so I am still really exited Plus there will most likely be some more awesome bridges and solo sections
  14. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jun 3 2012, 02:40 PM) If true, I'm interested. Keep my inbox in mind. Ditto!
  15. Just looking at threads for the Clockwork Angels clips, there are some people who are only there to constantly spread negativity (2 people especially..) IMO there is a difference between expressing an opinion and just being annoying by constantly saying how much you don't like the album over and over again in the same thread
  16. Just as exited as I was before, I really love what I have heard so far
  17. QUOTE (Tony R @ Jun 3 2012, 02:48 AM) Like I said, SnA on speed. And not in a good way. Well it definitely is "in a good way" to me, the clips sound fantastic
  18. The early reviews were right about it being like recent Rush material but "fully realized" with some nods to the "prog era" Rush Even though this is purely based on the clips, the fact that all the songs are a part of a singular concept and that the instrumentals all sound great all points to the conclusion that this is going to be the best Rush album in a long time
  19. Ok I got it to work! My God this is going to be an amazing album, all the samples sounded amazing!
  20. Ok people let's get back on the topic at hand!
  21. There is a discussion here: http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=74438&st=220
  22. Sounds fantastic! I really like the creepy ambient noises that are in the intros of the tunes
  23. likeclockwork can you tell us if Caravan and BU2B were re-recorded? If so were there any significant changes?
