Met Geddy Lee at a record store (A&A's) on Yonge St in Toronto and got his autograph.

  1. For me... Intro of Xanadu All of Cygnus - but especially the tubular bells and Geddy's bass in the beginning. I saw them a few times in 78/79 and when Geddy's bass came in I thought I was in heaven! The guitar solos and growls in By-Tor instrumental section (ATWAS version). The waterfall in Discovery. I love the way Alex plays this on Different Stages. All of La Villa!
  2. Definitely my favourite show. So far the 2nd season has been great - although I admit the bomb shelter guy meeting Jack previously seems a bit of a stretch - but I'm sure there will be some kind of link back in a later episode that explains it all. It's the only show I set my VCR for If I'm out on a Wednesday. Last time I set my VCR to tape a series was for the first few years of X Files.
  3. For me... Genesis - Seconds Out Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East Cheap Trick - Budokan (the re-release 2 CD of the full show) Aerosmith - Live Bootleg
  4. Just saw Motley Crue last night at Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto. Had the tix given to me for free (my brother in law couldn't go). As much as I don't mind them (I don't turn the radio off when they come on), I normally wouldn't have bothered going, and I definitely wouldn't have bought tix. But, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed myself. I think there was only 3, maybe 4 songs that I didn't know. Which surprised me in itself that I was that familiar with their stuff. Along with that, the heavy metal chicks in their short leather skirts and push up bras were out in full force - another bonus for us guys!!
  5. Oh sod the abattoir, that's not important. But if any of you could put in a word for me I'd love to be a mason. Masonry opens doors. I'd be very quiet, I was a bit on edge just now but if I were a mason I'd sit at the back and not get in anyone's way.
  6. I went with Shine On Pt 1, I just love that part when those 4 guitar notes ring through over the synth (just before the build up where the drums and bass come in). WYWH is probably my least fave, but only because I hear it so often on the radio. But I find it hard to listen to just one song. Whenever I play any PF album, I have to listen to the whole thing. DSOTM, WYWH, Animals and The Wall are to me all 1 long piece and listening to just 1 song really doesn't do them justice by themselves. Animals is by far my fave PF album. Definitely one of my all time top 5 "desert island" albums.
  7. First album I bought with my own money would have been Captain Fantastic by Elton John when it first came out in ...hmmm... 74 or 75?? First record I owned was These Boots Are Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra. I bugged my parents to buy it for me. I was 5 or 6 (1965/66) and still living in England. It was a big hit and played on the radio all the time. I never bought any 8-Tracks, but somewhere I have a copy of 2112 on 8-Track autographed by Neil Peart.
  8. ...I see. Well, of course, this is just the sort of blinkered philistine ignorance I've come to expect from you non-creative garbage. You sit there on your loathsome spotty behinds squeezing blackheads, not caring a tinker's cuss for the struggling artist. You excrement, you whining hypocritical toadies with your colour TV sets and your Tony Jacklin golf clubs and your bleeding masonic secret handshakes. You wouldn't let me join, would you, you blackballing bastards. Well I wouldn't become a Freemason if you went down on your stinking knees and begged me.
  9. Your Majesty is like a stream of bat's piss!
  10. QUOTE (Sark @ Jul 26 2005, 08:58 AM) QUOTE (Mr_Crunch @ Jul 25 2005, 11:17 AM) The tenants arrive here and are carried along the corridor on a conveyor belt in extreme comfort, past murals depicting Mediterranean scenes, towards the rotating knives. Pardon me, did you say knives? Rotating knives, yes....

  12. All The World's A Stage - I just love the version of By-Tor. Different Stages is a close second.
  13. Most recent one I saw that comes to mind is Zoolander - only made through about 20 minutes then turned it off.
  14. Alien for me too - although it wasn't a trilogy
