  2. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 18 2010, 02:44 AM) Got my tour book back, signed, today - personalized....to Dave and me, not to Niall Happy that it's signed, yes, and happy that it's personalized, yes...sad that it's not personalized to Niall which makes me think that they don't get anything else from the packages besides the items to sign and a post-it with the names from the bottom of the enclosed notes PS. I'll post a picture once I have a free moment to take one (I'm still editing, resizing and watermarking my 300+ pictures from Boston ) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Sep 24 2010, 02:36 PM)What's weird about it is that I signed each of the notes (and there was one for each of them in it's own envelope, with a family photo of us) from Kathy, David and Niall - so you'd think that if they we're not going to follow the direction of the letter and personalize it to who I asked (Niall) that they would put it to the persons that signed the letter (Kathy, David and Niall)...instead, it was just to Kathy and David. Just weird... *edited to say that I'm not complaining by any means, I am so happy that I have something signed by them...I'm just sad that I don't have something signed to my son, which was the point of sending it in...* http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/Rush/Autograph2010Tour.jpg Up on the wall in the frame
  3. OMG....nettiesaur...I remember Niall's first haircut...he was wriggling around, crying the whole time - I could barely hold onto him. I'm so glad my cousin is our hair dresser - she is infinitely patient. And she used the buzzers on him last time, and he calmed right down!! I don't know what it was about the buzzing, but it just instantly soothed him.
  4. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Oct 28 2010, 04:26 PM) Either I shrink or eat myself to death.... lol was thinking that myself

  6. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Oct 17 2010, 05:43 PM) It would be a travesty if the bootleg from that show wasn't called "Guess what, still no guitar" That was from the Boston show, and yes, one of the bootlegs from that show was called Still No Guitar I know cause my buddy taped it and we listened to it on the way home from the show that night lol You can get it on Dime
  7. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Oct 10 2010, 09:44 PM) He should try something else with his hands. maybe even something obscene.. I could go somewhere with that, but I'll refrain...
  8. QUOTE (Sir Lerxst @ Oct 6 2010, 01:09 PM) No. Apart from triggering samples, and in Witch Hunt (where he just uses triggers above his floor toms), he did not, use his electric drum kit. um...he used it in his solo...
  9. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Oct 6 2010, 02:16 PM) I don't have a cool picture of the band from this tour, so I'm going to submit this as my entry that I found on the interwebs: http://www.rushisaband.com/images/200807/852.f.jpg I hope I win! Goob!
  10. QUOTE (Janie @ Oct 5 2010, 12:19 PM) QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Oct 4 2010, 09:49 PM) in 2007 at the Madison Square Garden gig I brought a certain Barbie...ahem...a Groupie Barbie...to the show, and gave it to his guitar tech....she looked a little something like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v407/lakesidemaiden/PersonalPhoto.jpg She was brought out onto the stage during the first set - I can't recall now which song, but it was the second or third song in, and Al started playing to her, flirting with her. It was quite hilarious. She went on to Europe with them, I managed to get a few photos and screen caps of her at various different shows throughout the rest of the Snakes and Arrows tour, including Rush.com as well Nice Groupie Barbie! I made a Rush bikini for mine using covers that I removed from three pink Rush pins. I had sent a note asking if she could make her way to the designated Groupie Barbie station on stage but she wasn't there. She didn't even make it for one song. Bummer. But I'm glad your Groupie Barbie did LM AND she had a song played right to her. Al seemed pretty generous with your Groupie Barbie. Mine got no love so I guess that's why I'm assuming he either never saw it or thought it was stupid or something. Or maybe he thought, "Ugh, Groupie Barbies are SO 2007." Thanks hon - and I'm sorry about your Barbie not getting the recognition she deserved

It was quite hilarious. She went on to Europe with them, I managed to get a few photos and screen caps of her at various different shows throughout the rest of the Snakes and Arrows tour, including Rush.com as well This tour, I did actually bring a gift to the TD Bank Garden for Neil as a belated birthday gift. Nothing huge - a couple of my own photographs, matted - not of the band, but actually of the White Mountains in the peak of the fall foliage season last year - part of his "soulscape" as he put it in his books. Sadly, I was not allowed to bring the gift into the venue - no bags of any kind were allowed in. I didn't want to wrap the gift as I figured that wouldn't make it past security either, I wanted them to be able to quickly be able to look at it, know that there was nothing nefarious in the bag and be able to move on. So I politely asked the security guard if he would be so kind as to give the gift bag to the head of Rush Security, Michael Mosbach, to pass along to the drummer, as it was a belated birthday gift for him. He said he would, but I'll never know if he ever got it because, I realized after the fact, when I was home getting ready for bed that night, that I never included my address in the bag. Just my name.
  12. still cropping and watermarking mine...will have to get back to you LOL - i hate that I have so little time to work on my photos...
  13. QUOTE (garyg7133 @ Oct 4 2010, 12:19 AM) That's a great piece you got back. Nice job. Funny, I took 90 or so pics and 5 videos at the show. Then I picked up Roadshow and feel kinda bad for taking such a volume of pics knowing that it annoys Neil.... that's why I only shoot on manual without a flash, so that it can't be seen - therefore it can't annoy him

I selected my own F-stops, shutter speeds and ISO rates as I needed for the changing light. Hope this information helps Thanks for the info!! I always like to have it for learning experience for future shooting Don't think we could have smuggled this baby in. no...that's why you need the credentials or press pass Yep, they want to see your stinkin badge lol I would FRAME that stinking badge if I ever had the honor of wearing one at a show! My plan is to do just that. I would like to build a nice 3 image set from the show images I have, then have them mounted and framed with the photo credential. It will look great in my media room. Sweet! Post a picture of that when you have that done!!

One of the best RUSH concerts that I have been to. Not seats, photography credentials...better then seats and closer to the stage LOL someday I would like to be able to get a press pass, or as you say, photography credentials
  19. They still had them in Boston when I went, not sure if they had them for any shows after though...
  20. QUOTE (dannywork @ Sep 27 2010, 06:05 PM) Got to shoot them on assignment yesterday for Pegasus News... Rush @ Superpages.com Center 9/26/2010 Words cannot describe how awesome it is to be that close to your idols! I could only post up to 20 shots on Pegasus, but I'll have about twice that many on my own blog in a few days... will update when I do! Hope you enjoy! Danny Wicked nice shots! If you don't mind my asking, what were you using for gear, settings, etc.?
  21. QUOTE (jdouglas @ Sep 27 2010, 12:06 AM) Yup, sorta read like you sent in a bunch of stuff to be signed..my bad i guess. Nope, just the one tour book...

I'm not sure who is reading them, but someone is. My note was the only place where I wrote my name and since my album was personalized, someone had to have read it. It can't hurt to throw in a note. I agree. Send a little note and sign it so they can personalize it for you. And by personalize I mean, they will put your name on it. What I meant by someone not reading notes was that I had included a note attached with my TSOR guitar sheet music. It seems like if someone had read it they would have understood why I was sending it in, why it was special to me and why I wanted Alex to sign it. Also, LM sent something in she wanted personalized for her son but that didn't happen either. What's weird about it is that I signed each of the notes (and there was one for each of them in it's own envelope, with a family photo of us) from Kathy, David and Niall - so you'd think that if they we're not going to follow the direction of the letter and personalize it to who I asked (Niall) that they would put it to the persons that signed the letter (Kathy, David and Niall)...instead, it was just to Kathy and David. Just weird... *edited to say that I'm not complaining by any means, I am so happy that I have something signed by them...I'm just sad that I don't have something signed to my son, which was the point of sending it in...* Why didn't you just send in one photo and say please sign it for my son if that is what you wanted? Definitely a bit of too much of a good thing going on with a few here when you send in multiple things to multiple places, right? to clarify - * it was one package sent to one venue with four items in the package. The item for them to sign (a tour book), and three envelopes (one each for Alex, Geddy and Neil). * inside each envelope there was a letter (each said the same exact thing, asking for them to sign the tourbook, personalizing it to my son), and a picture of the three of us for them to keep for themselves - a small personalization so they knew who was sending them the request, as I read in Roadshow that they do actually like and keep their fan letters. Not really that complicated. In jdouglas' defense, your original post said you sent a tourbook and a separate envelope for each member. You didn't state that the envelopes were for them to keep. So it could easily have been construed that you might have wanted all 4 things signed. No need to sound condescending. I had stated earlier in the thread what I had sent actually...I wasn't trying to come across condescending at all, I was merely trying to clarify that I wasn't trying to take advantage of getting multiple items signed - that isn't something that I would ever do, and I took a mild offense to someone I barely know implying that I was - hence the clarification. I was not intending to come across as condescending at all, and if I did, I apologize.
