  1. .... a good kick up the hole. Nice one. But seriously, I just get frustrated as a relatively infrequent visitor that when I do have the time to check in here it's a lot of the same nonsense. I am enjoying the fact that the shows overseas are being appreciated by the fans who don't get to see them as often as those of us in North America. I'll admit I've seen them twice this tour and when they come back again (hopefully) for a CA tour I'll be there again. I just don't understand why, if everything this band seems to do is such an annoyance to some, do they even call themselves "fans" ? My apologies for the rant, but at this point we're lucky they're out there at all.... IMO.....
  2. Excellent, excellent news ! Glad it worked out !!
  3. Admittedly, I have not been a member of the forum for very long but I've had about enough. It doesn't matter what the setlist is, where they are playing, how much the tickets cost, what dvd is coming out, what song is (or is not) on the radio even....all anyone here seems to do is b_tch. It seems like a handful of folks see Rush for what and who they are - an aging rock band that we grew up with who, at any given time may just say f_ck it and stop touring. If you don't like the set list, DON'T GO. More tickets for those of us who just want to hear the music and maybe luck out and get good seats. Don't like the videos? Go take a piss or better yet, get something to eat or drink...no wait, that'll be a complaint too.... I can't wait to see how guys start screaming that they owe you something when they retire....
  4. If the ticket was signed for, then that may be an issue. If it was regular post and was not signed for it would fall under their criteria. It may anyway as long as OP can prover he is the original purchaser. As for DHL, they stopped shipping domestically un the US but they handle overseas packages coming into the US a lot and they fall under the unbrella of the US Postal Service.
  5. Ticket sellers / suppliers have what is called a "lost ticket voucher". You contact them to let them know that the ticket has been lost in transit (hell, I wouldn't even let them know it was received by your parents). You will need confirmation / receipt from original purchase which will likely have to be presented at the box office prior to the show.
  6. Anything that pisses Hitler off is ok by me.... BTW, take a joke people. Like another poster said, there are TONS of Hitler / Downfall mockeries out there, most by the same person. Go look up "Hitler wants Le Cellier" He even hates Disney for *od's sake. I've been laughing at the Disney clips for almost a year now....
  7. Just checked. Tix in the 100's section available for tonight on the arena website... just sayin....
  8. The Camera Eye BTW, sorry about the shaky video in some parts of my clips. I had a frikkin' mighty oak sitting in front of me and had to work around him...
  9. I'm about to upload Camera Eye. It's a MAMMOTH file. I will probably have the link up here tomorrow and yeah, it was great when the crowd chimed in.
  10. Would have made for a phenominal recording.
  11. Guys, just posted a link to one of my vids from last night on my msg review thread. Also have The Camera Eye. All 3-4 of my vids will be uploaded by tomorrow night. Taking forever b/c they're HD.
  12. For your enjoyment. From our press row seats. More to come, but connection slow today. I have full Far Cry and Camera Eye. PM me if you would like still shots. I have a ton.
  13. A sold out Madison Square Garden. An evening with Rush, a couple of beers and some wings....what could go wrong? Actually, not much. Other than the opening video coming to a screeching halt and then starting again from the beginning there weren't any hitches. A sour note each from Ged and Alex went largely unnoticed from the people around us . Geddy's voice was really strong and it was easy to see that the guys were into this one right from the start. Great crowd too. To the people here who bought the "South" tickets what'd you think? Pretty sweet spot eh? We were in North and my buddies couldn't believe that there was nobody crammed on top of us. Highlights for me were Presto, Red Barchetta, Marathon, Camera Eye and Vital Signs. Only peeve was that Ged's bass sounded a little thin in the beginning but by about 10 minutes in all was good.
  14. I took a bunch with my Canon Powershot. It's point and shoot and HD quality. Fits in my pocket. MSG can be a bunch of douchebags if you have a big camera. They WILL check your backpack @ MSG. No if's, and's or but's. Smaller is better @ MSG.
  15. Truly some great shots. Makes me rethink taking my camera to MSG. I took a TON @ Allentown last summer and was thinking of just "enjoying" this time....
  16. I think it's a little of both. Let's face it, we've all had eyes rolled at us over the years and yet, when we get one of those people to actually GO to a show it chsnges their mind completely (my brother being the perfect example). They are generating newer fans though by being in movies and having their music show up in a lot of "mainstream" media.
  17. QUOTE (32Ford @ Mar 28 2011, 10:03 AM) I got confirmation today that my Hold Your Fire Tour poster made it to Greensboro and will be forwarded to the band. Whether or not they sign it is a completely different story. I think you already know the answer to that.
  18. QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Mar 29 2011, 08:41 AM) QUOTE (softfilter @ Mar 29 2011, 03:15 AM) What if some fans didn't see The Time Machine tour last year???? There's plenty of us who haven't, and I don't know or want to know the setlist!! It's new to me.... Hello, Cleveland!!! But you don't understand. There are a small group of individuals who are just certain that they are the only 10 or 12 Rush fans in the world and the band must do their bidding.
  19. QUOTE (softfilter @ Mar 29 2011, 03:15 AM) What if some fans didn't see The Time Machine tour last year???? There's plenty of us who haven't, and I don't know or want to know the setlist!! It's new to me.... Hello, Cleveland!!! I must admit I was somewhat annoyed by getting the same setlist again. Then my buddies and I thought about it and now I just see an opportunity. We have a different seating location this time that will afford us a full view of the lighting, we get to hear MP live again AND we'll be at The World's Most Famous Arena and it's a sellout.
  20. I'd have to agree. I'm sure there is some material that they just look at and say "nope". I forget which DVD it is but they go though the creation of their setlists which usually start out at around 6 hours worth of material and some of it just goes out the door right away. As fans, some of us musicians in our own arena go out and play and sometimes you just can't take a particular song anymore. Then, as was also pointed out, there's the new material which is obviously going to intrude on the older material's space. Aside from the SNA tour, I think that over the years Rush has managed to still keep a pretty decent balance between old and new, even if they sometimes have to ignore entire albums during a tour.
  21. Taking into account that they, as a collective have been pretty private guys since early on, and also considering that over the years several so-called "fans" have stalked, threatened, called, e-mailed, snail-mailed and most heinously shown up INSIDE Neil's BUS, I think it's perfectly acceptable that the guys aren't particularly crazy about meet and greets. It's nice that Geddy and Alex do them occasionally, but I personally would rather just kinda bump into them on the street. If it happens one day, great for me. If not, oh well. I still have their music to listen to and their shows to see. Also throw in there that their shows are pretty much drunken sausage parties I may be a little hesitant to meet the fanbase as well. Just my opinion.
