  1. I imagine Why Why Zee is how it is said, as in the letters for the airport code for Toronto.
  2. QUOTE (faultline @ Sep 20 2004, 12:26 AM) I guess it is all subjective, but everyone is reading this as "Their favorite song" , rather than "Best song"...I am guilty of this too for other albums. But....2112 is by far the best song, which I voted for. My favorite song right now is Tears. It was, and is an unlikely Rush song. It is quieter than most..relationship oriented..and it is a very lovely song...structured quite nicely. I agree Faultline. Tears is an excellent song, one I have to be inthe right mood for. 2112 is of course an icon for RUsh fans though and also a great song.
  3. I would definately prefer Circumstances - great song. The Trees I have heard too much - I need a break from it.
  4. QUOTE (Phoenix @ Sep 18 2004, 06:29 AM) You may like this one too. A planetary nebula called "Cat Eye" or NGC-6543. This one is only 3600 light years away in the constellation Draco. http://home-3.worldonline.nl/~ppsmeets/Deep%20sky/Planetaire%20nevels/NGC6543%20Katteoog%20Hubble.jpg VERY cool!
  5. LOL still this one??? Man, I think we need a hint!!
  6. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0409/ic1805_crisp_h1c1.jpg Explanation: Sprawling across hundreds of light-years, emission nebula IC 1805 is a mix of glowing interstellar gas and dark dust clouds. Only about 7,500 light-years away, stars were born in this region whose nickname - the Heart Nebula - derives from its suggestive shape (seen here sideways). This gorgeous, deep telescopic image of the nebula is very colorful, but if you could travel there and gaze across these cosmic clouds with your own eyes, are those the colors you would really see? The short answer is no, even though the image was made with light visible to the human eye. Light from this and other glowing gas clouds surrounding hot, young stars comes in very narrow bands of emission characteristic of energized atoms within the clouds. In fact, the nebular glow is often dominated by hydrogen atoms emitting light in only a small fraction of that broad region of the spectrum that we see as the color red. Adopting an artificial color scheme commonly used for narrow band images of emission nebulae, this beautifully detailed view shows the light from sulfur atoms in red hues, with hydrogen in green, and oxygen atoms in blue.
  7. Lerxst Lady, it sounds to me IMHO that the interviewer here got caught with his pants down and is trying to save his skin. I also have serious question about the NYE comments as well. I can't see him saying how "brutal" it was, etc etc at a point in time like this. Just doesn't seem like something he would say with the case still looming....
  8. QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Sep 15 2004, 02:56 AM) actually this year i'm sure bubbles got thrown in the joint along with the others...not 100% sure but i think it happened Season 4 I have not seen yet So maybe he finally gets thrown in jail
  9. Maybe we should post in the Rush area that this is where the game is now if people are looking
  10. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Sep 13 2004, 08:57 PM) From our friends at Dark Horizons: Toronto-raised comedy director Ivan Reitman will be in the city Tuesday but not for the festival, rather to finalise a deal to finance and executive produce a Canadian movie about homegrown trailer trash according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reitman will executive produce the comedy that stars Ricky, Bubbles and Julian, the main characters of "Trailer Park Boys," a 4-year-old cult TV hit in Canada that now airs on BBC America. The series follows three Nova Scotia dope-smoking ex-convicts living among friends and family in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park, and is shot in the style of a faux documentary. The hard-living characters have become Canadian icons in only a few short years on cable but the show only crossed the border in recent months. The project will be directed by the TV show's creator, director and writer Mike Clattenburg. The Canadian government is planning on using Reitman's boxoffice pull as the centerpiece of its strategy to boost the domestic boxoffice there to 5% by 2006. Woohoo!!!! I love this show, as raw as it is.... One discrepency with Dark Horizons, though, Bubbles is not an ex-con Ricky and Julian are for sure, but not Bubbles. They even kept him out at the end of the 3rd seasons when they flipped the trailor running from the cops (Bubbles pretends he is a farmer on the land LOL ) Can't wait to see this movie!!! Thanks for the info Jack!
  11. What happened to Yoda?? Hey Yoda! You got the answer right!!
  12. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Sep 13 2004, 11:04 AM) That looks like salt on the ground. Is it caused by the flash of his camera which is reflecting off the ground? Excellent! I was thinking snow, with the sun directly behind him, but you should email him at that email addy to put in your guess!
  13. http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/image/0408/ring_lewin.jpg Explanation: What caused this ring of colors? At the time of this writing, MIT Physics Professor Walter Lewin had yet to find someone who can give the correct explanation. Not students. Not colleagues. Not APOD editors. He wonders how the astute readers of APOD will do. Can you match wits with Professor Lewin? Lewin took the above picture in a construction area in Massachusetts on June 20. Your answer should be able to explain the color sequence and the bright area in the center. Shortly after he gives the explanation on December 7 during a lecture in his course Vibrations and Waves at MIT, APOD will carry a link to it. A discussion page for this image will be held in the APOD Forum on the Asterisk*. Additionally, Professor Lewin will answer appropriate e-mail questions and guesses sent to asklewin@space.mit.edu
