Thank you for reading this season's one highlight in the Philadelphia Phillies season. We hope you enjoyed it, and hope to have 2 or 3 highlights next year. Have a nice day.

Just in time to be traded away, maybe even to the Yankees. Dear Lord, give me a drink....

Interestingly, the Cubs had the record for the longest stretch without getting no hit, Sandy Koufax was the last one to do it to them :)

Losing to Jerome Williams was more embarrassing.

The last no hitter in Wrigley was Burt Hooton against the Phils in 1972. I believe he struck out Luzinski to end the game.

I've heard the call of the end of the Koufax perfecto many times. Koufax's pitching was matched by Scully's artistry in painting the scene. Bob Hendley of the Cubs only gave up one hit that day.

Video from the actual broadcast of the previous time the Cubs had been no hit at home, by Jim Maloney in 1965. Note the pitch count. Of course Maloney's career was cut short because of stuff like this.
