It should be noted That Baltimore is awesome........I expected it to build but it didn't. and it didn't Have to. Beautiful.

Mick

He's got a gift for really painting the picture. You can almost smell the room, see an old woman on her deathbed. The larger existential question hits you between the eyes

All this talk about his music is making me want to download some new stuff. I already have Pontiac, any suggestions for the next one to start with?

Essential Lyle:

Joshua Judges Ruth

The Road to Ensenada—his album of mourning over Julia. Awesome

Step inside this House

Thanks! :)

I love Everybody is his happy album. He and Julia were newly joined at the time

Thanks! :)

Beware Mick, TM is like Apple he infiltrates you with music, but for the good.

So Mick...what's stuck out to you most so far?

I Think You Know What I Mean. A great piece of music.

That album is well represented on a Austin City Limits Episode. Have you heard "Record Lady"?

I downloaded The Road to Ensenada last night. Loving it so far.

Such depth of emotion there. Quite a bit of variety there. Any standouts for you?

So far I really like Private Conversation, Don't Touch My Hat and The Road To Ensenada the best, but they're all good.

That's right you're not from Texas has an interesting groove in the verses. Crazy good musicians. Her First Mistake is a weird one, but good. So versatile. Have you heard his black gospel stuff? It defies reason. His feel for it is just mind blowing. The backup singers rock

Yes, I've heard the album 3 times now, but I've just started to discover it lately. I think it needs time. Sonja is also a secret fave of mine.

His catalogue is so huge it will take me years to appreciate his work.

You're well on your way with your new mission.

Check out "I will Rise Up" and "Don't cry a Tear". Newers songs. One is almost like a negro spiritual, the other was written for Hunter S Thompson's funeral.

Fu**!!,

I wanted to see him. I forgot the date and it's this Saturday. I didn't put in for the time off. I can only hope some one at work will change days with me. :smash:

Good luck! I saw him some years ago when he opened for Sting. I didn't really know his music then but I sat through his set and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Not gonna happen,

It's my own fault. Damn!! :rage:
