My eye doctor a Rush fan!

I have glaucoma, and see an eye specialist a few times a year. One time I wore a Rush tee to an appointment, and my doctor said his wife drags him to all their shows. (The WOMAN is the fan dragging the spouse to the shows in this scenario!) We've discussed Rush casually during subsequent visits.

 

I've been doing poorly on field vision tests, so he suggested I come in and meet with another eye specialist who uses a different (older) testing method. Today, I walk in for the eye test and this other eye specialist (a woman) is wearing a Rush tee, on 21-12 day. We strike up a long discussion about Rush. Turns out, she's my main doctor's wife, the woman he's told me drags him to the shows.

 

Big deal, right? Another story of meeting another fan. But I had a great time obsessively discussing Rush this morning with my eye doctor's wife, an eye specialist like him, and an OBSESSIVE fan like me.

Cool story... and I have a similar doctor tale! A few years back my dentist referred me to an oral surgeon for a graft due to hereditary gum recession. When I go in for the surgery, the nurse asks if I'd like to listen to music while having my gums sliced and diced. I jokingly said "yeah, some Rush would be great". The nurse smirked and said that can be arranged. Turns out the doctor is huge fan, and he brought his own personal iPod in, docked it, and played Rush for an hour and a half. If you ever need gum surgery, that's the only way to go!

 

And furthermore... my buddy that tag teamed with me on Rush tattoos recently... he went to see his doc for a checkup, the doc saw the tattoo on his arm, and said he is a big fan... and ended up snapping pictures of the tattoo with his own cellphone.
