So, here at RushCon camp, we've been doing a lot of thinking. Where to have this year's convention? What to do? We have the Time Machine tour embarking in weeks, and we knew we needed to make some decisions. As always, we want to give our attendees the best possible convention, filled with the best events. We have found, over the past years, that we usually get a great turnout when our event coincides with an actual Rush concert. It's the perfect way to celebrate this band that we love, with the fans that we cherish. Without a Toronto show this summer, combined with the incredible time we had in Las Vegas last year, we thought it would be best to keep the con around the same time as a concert. So we are back in Vegas this summer. We will do 2 days of events: Friday June 24th - an exclusive RushCon afterparty following the Vegas concert (still plenty of tickets to the concert left, look here) and a full day of events on Saturday June 25th, right across the street at the Hooters Hotel. What does this mean for you, dear Toronto? It means that in 2012, we will be coming back at you in a MAJOR way. RushCon will explode onto Toronto next summer. But this year... here's looking at you, Vegas... And though it's a shorter con, we really have some amazing and exclusive stuff planned that you will never see anywhere else. We promise you won't be disappointed! More details to come. (As always, keep an eye on RushCon.org, and our Facebook and Twitter pages for up to the minute info.) CALLING ALL COLLECTORS & ARTISTS! Do you have some extra RUSH memorabilia cluttering up your basement? Want to feel good about the money you spent on Geddy Lee's nose hair clippings? Or are you an artist inspired to create by the music of Rush? If so, we are looking for donations of items for our annual RushCon Charity Auction! We have raised over $50,000.00 for the Daily Food Bank of Toronto in the last nine years. We will be displaying and promoting all auction items on our website and our Facebook page, so send us your info today to holly@rushcon.org. Please email a full description of your donation item, plus a photo (all images must be 640 x 480 pixel size, 72 dpi resolution). Be sure to let us know whether you are bringing the item with you to RushCon or shipping it to one of our organizers before the Con. All items donated will be auctioned to the highest bidder with 100% of the proceeds going to charity (TBA).
