the masked drummer
We have a new bassist and he is into prog rock like me, so we're writing a new song which is more progressive than anything the band has written to date. This is just a short clip of us in the basement working out the arrangement, from last sunday. It started with a drum pattern, then our bassist wrote some music up on the dry erase board for the guitarist and I. I can read music, luckily, and was able to coach our guitarist on how to play and read in odd time. Kinda fun actually. Song's not done. Guitar part towards end was ALEX LIFESON influenced so I figured I'd share. Comments appreciated!!! 1-0-0-1-0-0-1
I like it. The intervals are weird, but in a good way. The time sig sounds like it naturally happened, as opposed to, "Hey, let's write something in 11/8!" Good stuff. Let's hear the rest!
