Snowdog
Last night after drinking an Oaked Arrogant Bastard, I followed it up with a Stone IPA. Feeling a bit lazy, I used the same glass and didn't even rinse it out even though quite a bit of sticky lacing was left over from the AB. As I drank the Stone IPA, I could taste some AB coming through in the IPA and it was outstanding! It added a whole new layer to an already great beer. So tonight, I am mixing Oaked Arrogant Bastard and Stone IPA in about a 70/30 ratio in favor of the IPA and it is tremendous. I'm even thinking of writing Stone with a suggestion on this. If you want to try something new, give this a shot
ozzy85
Well, Black & Tans have been around awhile, so what with the explosion of microbrew, it's not hard to imagine. Some porters and IPAs make a good mix. I've seen the head brewer at the downtown brewery mix stuf like that when he's off-duty. I like making a good discovery like that... Midway Hawker
Snow, I had my first sample of Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale. Wow! Pours and looks like a Stout, but drinks like a Double Bastard. 8.7% ABV. This was very tasty. I think it's new, I had not seen it before. $6 for a 22oz bottle at BevMo, and worth it! Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale isn't that new, I don't think. Six months, maybe? Anyway, it's one of my faves now too, and your description is right on.
