Bump with a purpose.

Does anyone know any really good websites where you can order back issues?

Comics On The Green

This is my buddy's store, here in Scranton. He does a ton of subscriptions and can get almost anything that's ever been collected in trade paperback/graphic novel form.

Check him out.

*throws in 2 cents*

I finished the Sandman series a while ago, thought it was brilliant. Then I read some sort of re-imagining of the D.C. series; uh, "New World", I think it was called? That was decent. Then there's the Marvel "1602," which I would call "inspired"... it works surprisingly well.

Ooo, can't forget the GIJoe vs. Transformers... great stuff, if only because I loved 'em growing up. Although usually GIJoe comics tend to be kinda lame. There are some good ones though. Which reminds me, I need to go find that new one... "Snake Eyes: Unclassified".

Comics too? Well, there's the Azrael series... the one of monthly comics I ever tried to keep up with (I ended up with something like 86 of them). The other one... was the Sonic the Hedgehog comic. Ahh! I used to buy those all the time as a kid! I picked one up the other day at Border's; they're on number 175 or something, and they just killed off a few main characters. It used to be a cute kids comic... what happened? I should try and catch up with those...

And i've got a few dozen Batman comics from the Knightfall, Knightquest, Knightsend era, although that was more my brother than me.

...

Heh, I'm babbling. Um, they aren't really recommendations... except for the "Sandman" series. I thought those were great.

Cool! My cousin is the colorist on Sandman. He's worked with Neil Gaiman (the author) for years.

Batman: The Ultimate Evil.

AMAZING!!! You can either get the regular novel, or the graphic novel adaptation. I'd recommend BOTH.

Batman meets a children's social worker that speculates that crime, especially violent crime, is an offshoot of one form of child abuse or another. Batman begins to look into this theory and finds himself surrounded in a city of pure SCUM.

Alfred informs him that his parents were a part of a vigilante group themselves. One dedicated to fighting this underworld of child pornography that is thriving in Gotham.

That's all I can say until you've read it. As someone who has read just about all there is on Batman, I hope you can trust my advice here. It's a very powerful story. It's NOT for kids. no.gif Batman finds himself breaking many of his own rules as he's overwhelmed at the depth of human depravity he has to face in this story.

DO check it out. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Found out my local library carries this one...got it on hold and will check it out! Thanks bro for the recommendation! trink39.gif
