Midway Hawker
While I was in Vegas a weekend ago, I saw this cover band play on Saturday night at the Boulder Station Hotel/Casino. They played all classic rock and I was really impressed with how they were able to cover so many bands and they sounded a lot like the originals.. The singer has a great range and the guitar player seemed to play everything perfectly. They are a five piece with a drummer, bass playing, lead guitar player, keyboard player, and singer.. The keyboard player also played some rythem guitar, and the singer played some guitar and keyboards, so they were able to play just about anyone and pull it off with it sounding very cool. They played from 11pm - 2am with about a 20 minute break.. It was a great show. Some of what they played that I can remember: Led Zepplin - ?? Rush - Spirit of Radio Guns and Roses - Mr. Brownstone Aerosmith - Love in an elevator - Walk this way - (singer came out dressed just like Steven Tyler. He acted and sang just like him) Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar - Satisfaction - (singer dressed and acted out Mick Jagger, perfectly!) Boston - Foreplay - Long Time Pink Floyd - Dirty woman - Brick in the Wall - Run like hell AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Ozzy - Crazy train - Flying high again Van Halen - Eruption - You really got me - Panama - Hot for teacher (the guitar player played ever note of "eruption" perfectly, including all the hammered notes.. totally awesome!) Plus many others that I can't remember right now. Check out their web site. They have clips of Rush, Pink Floyd, and Led Zepplin.. All very impressive: Yellow Brick Road - The Band If you are ever in Vegas and looking for something to do on a Friday or Saturday night, these guys will probably be playing somewhere so look them up! Drumnut
They sound like a great Rush tribute band, I never heard them while I lived there. When it comes to Van Halen, and they play Boulder Station, The Atomic Punks are the best Van halen tribute band out there. Michael Anthony has even sat in with the group. Damn I can't wait to finish school and go home!
Drumnut
I think I saw this band doing the Elton John tribute but since Elton has his own show on the strip now, I guess they did the right thing by expanding the act!
